1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Why are so many limhwa half elf girls resold?

Sep 18, 2007

    1. I try not to worry too much about the yellowing, but I have noticed some yellowing on my Supia Roda that is pinky white, but I love her too much so I keep her away from all light as much as possible.

    2. Holy crap this just totally made my day!!!! :aheartbea :aheartbea :aheartbea

      THANK YOU!!

I am exactly the same way you are. Cora will never go back in her box unless we're moving. I enjoy seeing her and playing with her waaaay too much!!

But thank you I definately squeed at this!! :fangirl:

    3. I wouldn't mind yellowing if it was even, but it's the splotchy dolls that worry me. The dolls I've had that have changed color seemed to have yellowed all over, French Resin has more of a tendency to go splotchy but I suppose people usually post examples when they're really bad. Maybe if you kept them nude all day, it wouldn't make a difference, they'd just mellow all over.

    4. yeah, I was about to say that- I let my narae hang out in the nude for a while and where she seemed to have clothing marks, she evened out. It seems the yellowing stops at a point- she is even colored and has a nice, creamy tone now.

    5. I don't like the yellow tone at all! x_x

here is a picture of my Limhwa showing the yellowing around her collar bone, she also has some on her lower legs and hands.. the parts where the resin is thinner (such as the knees and collarbone) seem to be more affected by this...

I don't like the way her neck looks next to her -still white- face!!!

    6. Oooh. Ummm, not nice. Sometimes the yellow is too yellow, isn't it. Even if you got her looking yellow all over, it's not as nice as her original color. It's such a lot of work to get rid of the yellow as well.

    7. If you want to sell her, please let me know~! I actually like the slightly darker color. :sweat Although I might have to take her out and try to even it out a bit. Dolly sunbathing anyone?

Oh, and not at ALL that you don't have every right to be upset. I just wanted you to know there are others who would love her just like that, so it's not like your investment just flew out the window!;)

    8. There does not seem to be too much rhyme or reason to the yellowing of resin, does there? I have one resin BJD that is nearly four years here, and she does have yellowing (not too bad, but it is more so than her "sister"). . most of the others are fine or with so little discoloration you cannot see it. I have seen resins in the model horse community of collectors that have been sealed and then painted . . I wonder if that might hold some sort of solution for our BJDs? Anyone know any of the customizers in that hobby that might have some ideas?

    9. Same here :(

My girl is yellow also,I'm not happy with it.This is how she looks

    10. I got my half-elf girl with the very first order, and she has not yellowed at all. However, when I first got her I took her apart, blushed, and sealed the whole body. Were the ones who yellowed sealed?

Even if she did yellow I don't think I would care---this is one doll you would have to pry from my cold dead hands to get away from me. I consider this girl more of a work of art and not a doll--the artist's sensitivity to the human form is incredible.

On the flip side I can see why you would be upset with the yellowing--these dolls are not cheap.

    11. maybe a wierd question, but is there a chance that the limhwa girls will ever be made in a different type of resin?? they are so beautifull but right now I don't want one because of the creepy yellowing story's and stuff :S

    12. I'm selling mine and it's nothing to do with her yellowing or me being afraid of handling her. She's the most beautiful girl, but I've found out that she's simply too big for me! I really thought I'd exit the MSD-scene and get more into the bigger BJD's, but I have come to realize that I prefer the smaller size. So she's up for trade/sale as we speak.

Sometimes we just need to try something to find out how it fits, and the SD size, although there are some extremely beautiful dolls, is just not for me... I'm kind of sad to see her go, but I'm sure she'll find a good home where she won't have to spend all her time stored in her box and will get the attention she deserves.

    13. I never thought I would sell any of my dolls either, but then...I had 20, and I realized that if I ever want to get new dolls and be able to pay them all proper attention, I need to decide if I love love love the doll or not and if I don't, to sell it. So I did. The first time was a bit painful, but now its easier. Unless you want to accumulate 500 dolls over the course of your life, for them all to be sold at auction once you die, you have to consider that someday you will need to sell some of them.

    14. I also got one of the first Limhwa's and she has not yellowed. I sealed her right away and have been very careful to keep her out of sunlight.

    15. I sold my doll because I did not like the yellowing, but it has also to do with money problems, and I have to say: I miss her.
