1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Why do you need more than one?

Jul 13, 2009

    1. I don't need more than one, I just...want more than one! XD I think I could be happy with only my first doll and no others, but where would the fun be in that? My collection is still fairly small and they're all dressed nice, have their fancy wigs and shoes and all that, so I don't see any reason to not get more if I see a doll I fall in love with <3

    2. Couples. I want matched sets. (For the large sizes. The little guys can run rampant)

    3. I planned from the beginning to get just one boy and one girl, but I had my boy for over a year before I got another. The whole time I felt like I was never fully satisfied with his look and character. I see now that it's because I was trying to stuff all of my inspiration and ideas into one doll and he just could never fulfill those expectations. I've realized how much I love him now that he doesn't have to be anything but Ollie, and I can simply get more dolls for my other ideas and characters. :D

    4. Because I have so many RP characters that I love. -.- Not all characters become dolls but all dolls are my characters. I've also had a few sneak up on me. XD I think my biggest problem is I like SDs. If they were all 1/6 it might not be so bad. XD

    5. I love all the different sculpts and sometimes one pops up that I just can't take my eyes off! How could I choose to have just one? That is waaay too hard! My new order coming in has 4! I've never seen this company before and love their dolls. It probably won't be the last time I do it either! I bet I'll find myself needing to give them family members as well.

    6. Hmm... Because I love the sculpts ? XD
And the more the merrier. Haha...

    7. Yep, all of these recent answers. Plus, some of the dolls have clumped into certain characters & roles. So then it is a relief to have a few dolls who are not "designated", who can change characters & costumes for the fun of it without looking out of place to me. X0
And, because I tend to browse the mp & fall in love. This is truly why I have more than one.:sweat

    8. clothing styles again - I love so many different styles, and it's not possible for one doll to wear them all! The doll in my avatar is just right for sweet/classic Lolita style, but then who will wear modern mini skirts and cute sweaters? So I 'need' another doll to wear those - I guess I get bored easily, and am a bit of a shopaholic!

    9. Mainly coz they are 3D renditions of my characters and I've created a convoluted story with more than 10 main characters, around 50 secondary characters and more than 100 supporting characters. So....yeah....I really couldn't just have "1" doll.

I want to do photostories of them so having 1 doll won't get me anywhere.

    10. Looking at it from the inverse; how does someone remain satisfied wih just one? I know which doll (Ami) I would grab on the way out escaping a disaster, but to live contentedly with just one doll would take more self-discipline than I can muster.

    11. I like more than one sculpt, and for photo, you can do more activity with group picture.

    12. why not have more than one? they are not living person you have to be faithful to, infact there's no law or morals that said you must be faithful even to a living person. Do what your heart desires. If you feel bad having more than one then just stick with one. I'm personally a fan of twins, so I'm constantly thinking about getting the exact same sculpt twice for no good reason at all.

    13. I started out just wanting two (to keep each other company). I ended up getting two smaller cute sculpts until I could swallow parting with the money for my two big girls... I have one, and ended up falling in love with some Supia sculpts (deciding I HAVE to have a tan doll) and randomly got one of them, then decided I wanted to try modding another doll and finding the perfect sculpt for that... And on and on it goes. I want different looks, redhead, tan, mori girl, Korean, Lolita, princess...

    14. They multiply...They really do.

    15. Because...
"One is the loneliest number that has ever been".

    16. As has been said earlier, it's not so much a question of "need" as of "want".

However many dolls you want to have is the right number for you.

Personally, I don't see the point of having 100+ dolls, since I tend to connect pretty closely with my tiny jointed playmates and have a hard enough time managing the ones I have...but if that's what makes you happy, by all means, go for it.

    17. I don't NEED more that one, but I want more than one! Honestly I want as many unique dolls with unique face shapes, characters and tell their own unique story. Otherwise... Plain and simple: I want more pretty dolls. xP

    18. I've always been the collecting type and I feel a strong impulse to surround myself with things I find cute or beautiful. There are many sculpts that I love and just seeing pictures of them is not enough. I need to have them, play with them, and see them in person everyday. Plus I have several characters that I really want to have as a doll so I can do photo-stories with. :)

    19. I personally don't like the idea of many dolls. I rather have a few well cared for, than a lot with several ignored. I would have kept only the boy, but then I saw so many pretty clothes that I eventually wanted a girl, and that last one is mostly to experiment a bit more on, since I don't want to mess up my SDs. I don't think I'll ruin him and I like the idea of a small one to carry around, so that's were my third is coming from XD. I don't plan to buy any more after him. Sticking to these three and that's it :D.

    20. I always wanted an Iplehouse Gentle Soori but the transaction wouldn't process so I ended up getting my Illusion Spirit Baitu but I also have a floating Cho head which is actually what got me into the hobby and now I have so many ideas for my dolls family and characters that I want to make my dolls look like that whenever I see a doll that reminds me of an idea I had, I have to have it! I've loved dolls my whole life, so I guess it's just a force of habit for me to see a doll and want it to own it.
