Why do you need more than one?

Because variety is the spice of life! Besides they get lonely too, I'm sure! All my kids are like siblings and they really care for each other!

 

The reason I want more than one, is because there are so many different beautiful dolls! Choosing only one is impossible . And being a collector, it's not so strange that I want more.

 

At the moment I think I only want to get one (I have zero at the moment!) But I thought the same before I got my first Blythe doll. Part of me thinks this is the same and I'll end up with more but part of me thinks that because there are so many and so different bjds I won't feel the same need to collect... When I bought Blythe dolls I would buy a new one if it had different colour/style hair to the ones I had before. But with bjds you can change their hair and even their make up and there are endless beautiful dolls out there.

Am I being naïve thinking one will be enough?

 

I have more than one because there's so many characters floating in my head. And I feel like they get lonely by themselves lol, ridiculous, I know

Three main reasons for me:
1. I'm a collector at heart. I love having groups of related things.... don't know why.
2. I love taking photos of my dolls interacting.
3. My dolls are characters and those characters are interconnected

Also: Because I would never be able to pick just one doll to own when there are so many beautiful dolls available.

 

Different characters. And there are so many that are beautiful in different ways. That being said, I have this illusion that I can keep it down to a half-dozen or so. (Right now I have two.)

 

Definitely different characters, and because I love having pretty things around!! Sometimes just looking over at my doll when I'm feeling down can help, before I even pick her up or anything!

 

Because I don't want my doll feel lonely so I find a partner and a cat for him . At first , I thought three is enough but I guess the cat may feel lonely too , so I find a child to play with him . Another reason is I fell in love with all of them , they are all so beautiful .

 

I don't want my Doll to be alone but I made myself a limit of having in the end 3-4 Dolls here someday

 

Well, part of it is that each doll represents a character that I have and said character might have siblings, love interests, enemies etc. that I want to own so that I can take pictures of them together or simply enjoy seeing them. That doesn't mean every single character my Withdoll Ruby has some connection to will be made into a BJD it just means that some of her closer relationships (her siblings, her BFF etc.) will be. Of course getting said connections opens up a whole new can of worms as they suddenly have someone I get inspired to bring in. For instance right now I have 2 dolls, Hannah (WD Ruby) has 2 siblings, one frenemy and one friend that I want to get, Henrietta (AQ Chloe) has one sibling (Hannah's friend), one frenemy (same as Hannah), one BFF and at least one love interest (possibly Hannah's brother) that I feel inspired by. But that doesn't mean I'll get them all, it just means those are the ones I try to keep my focus on.

... Nevermind that I have a Withdoll Aiden hanging out at the post-office that is unrelated to all mentioned above which might change things up... xD

 

I really want 2 of each size when it comes to BJD's. So two MSD's, two SD's, etc. But one of each sex. So this way, I can have lots of different clothes unique to them and a little doll family!

 

I thought the same as as you at first... ONLY ONE DOLL!! A cute boy DOLL! Syo from volks was my first.. and I love him so much and I still do.. and yet.. 15 years later.. I am up to 10 dolls.. there was a point I had i think 14 but I just can't justify that many so I traded/sold them all and switched some of them out. I just love my Syo very much and I will never ever dream of selling him!! But it just sorta happens.. you end up collecting a lot.. for me I started collecting props, wigs, shoes.. because I want them to have a comfortable home! LOLL

 

only one in the house won't it feel lonely? ...but then i feel like , i love this sculpt solo much, i want another different character.

 

Because the first doll was meant to be a girl, and I got a boy. Then he needed a big sister etc. because his sibling took ages to come etc. And I love different sculpts that require different styles, and I enjoy holding dolls which are engineered differently. Then it is fun to create an harmonious crew/family although the sculpts and sizes are different.

 

The reason I want more than one, is because I want to have different characters...
But I don't like the idea of many dolls. I have only a few well cared for.

 

i actually felt a bit afraid in buying another doll before... i thought if i get one i might not be able to put more attention/favor with my other doll.
i already moved on with the feeling... i can manage it.
right now, i'm waiting for an MSD boy. my sweet baby boy will have a little brother now

 

I really wish that I could be happy with just one or two dolls. But all of my doll ideas come from a story line that I'm working on with interconnected characters. And so if I get one of them it feels like it would be wrong not to get all of them some how. For instance my first doll is named Bilberry (a Resinsoul Dian), he is a little old elf man and he also has a wife named Florinda. Now that I have him I would feel bad not to get his wife because I don't want him to be alone. And they also have a daughter and so I'll probably have to get her too.

This is the process I get stuck in . Even though I know they aren't real there is some part of me that doesn't want my dolls to be lonely as silly as that sounds. And more than that I want to see my vision for all these characters come to life. And now that I have my first yosd girl (an Illusion Spirit Song Xiao) I just *want* more yosds. I love her so much and I want more little kids to play with. They really are like potato chips like Foxxian said .

 

Because I like more than one doll. Another reason would be the fact that only one doll would be simply lonely alone =))) ok ok it is just a silly excuse to by another one. Also a gender plays a big role for me. I dont wanna have only boys or only girls. I prefer to have as many boys as girls.

 

because I have a story I want to tell with them.

 

Different sculpts, different things to do, different characters...so many reasons.
