1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Why do you need more than one?

Jul 13, 2009

1. I need more than one because it's physically impossible for one doll to be all of my dolls at once...

Though I did once consider getting one body and just buying multiple heads, but then I decided I love tanned dolls and most company's tans don't match and neck sizes vary too...

2. My parents also ask me this, well, my mom is more like "Why more than two?" (a couple) but my dad is dead on the spot "Why do you need more than one?".
Rather than just reasoning, it's more of a feeling that I just have to have another one and the another one, and maybe another one. It's to have company I guess.

3. Originally I was thinking I'd just get one and now I'm dreaming of a whole tribe of tinies and I haven't even bought my first one yet! Besides if no one is more than 35 cm tall, I'll have space for at least a dozen! Though that could take time since I'd only buy 1 or 2 a year...

4. Because they are all unique and different, and because I'm a collector. It's not really a collection if you don't have more than one :) LOL! And new and interesting dolls keep coming out, which doesn't help either! There are so many more I want too!

5. There are so many gorgeous dolls!! That's why. ;)

6. I have always been into collecting things (my mother has nicknamed me "the collector" >.<) I already had a large collection of porcelain dolls, I guess I am just compelled to collect things. I need more than one because they complete each other, When I think about dolls I want I always think of them in pairs, I don't know why, but in general I like variety so its hard to settle on one, though I do have favs.

7. Because my first one whispered to me her story that needed telling.
hehe~ I want to do photostories and scenes with them, and that's hard to do with just one

8. OCD bites, don't it though?

9. Three of the 6 dolls I plan to someday own are a family unit, because I want to illustrate stories with them and make art prints to sell, so I need characters. I have two of these so far, waiting on the last. They're my tool dolls.

The other two will be because they are beautiful and perfect and embody a childhood fantasy of mine that I'll never grow out of. They're my art dolls. They'll come to me when their artist releases them, God willing and the creek don't rise, and they'll stay in a glass case and be perfect and beautiful for me.

And my goofy little Hujoo is just totally for fun and for fiddling with when I'm playing on the computer.

10. I don't see any need to stop getting them since I enjoy them. I also enjoy having a variety of different sculpts and such as well.

11. I thought I would get just one, but after a while, I kept going back to Luts to stare at KDF Bory... and you know what happened after that xD
I think, that if you're in the hobby and are constantly looking at other people's dolls and at companies, you won't be able to resist the urge. There are so many intriguing dolls out there. Once you realize the reason why you got the first one, you'd probably use that same (or a similar) reason to get the next.

12. Just having one seemed incredibly lonely to look at. I only have 2 days up to date, but even my parents (who could not understand my fixation with BJDs :P) commented saying, "Hm. With 2 it doesn't seem creepy at all, it's actually kind of sweet." Ha ha ha.

13. I wanted another doll because I liked another doll and I could afford the other doll. n_n It was pretty simple~ ♥

14. I personally want more, because I shell my own characters in the dolls, and it would be down right impossible to do in one (or even two) dolls.
But aside from that there are several other reasons.
I like a lot of different dolls, and I see no reason not to buy them, when I can afford it?
Also I like making them look very different from each other.
And it is more fun taking photos of more dolls together.
So yeah, lots of reasons.

15. I plan on getting at least one more because I would like a larger doll, and there are so many pretty dolls out there that it's hard to just have one (even though it may kill my wallet :P ).

16. Well, to start I just love all the different options and could never chose just one. But for me atm, it's because I have a story in my head, and characters, and I have a doll picked out for each part. I didn't make the sotry and then find BJDs to fit the part, I find a doll that tells me it's part in this story and how they fit together. So I need these dolls to finish their story.

17. When I bought my first doll, I had planned on her being my only bjd. Soon after I got her, I found myself addicted as I soon added other dolls to my wishlist. There are just too many styles and sizes to stop with just one ^.^

18. The thing about this hobby is that, for a lot of people, BJD's are like potato chips. You tell yourself you'll only get one and then the next thing you know you own 10 of them. There's a lot of pretty molds out there that make it really hard to stick to just one doll. A few of my dolls are resin shells of characters I created years ago. A lot of them were created the minute I saw the mold. You find doll molds you like, start getting ideas for them, and the next thing you know you have a resin army!

19. Because there's too much of a variety of them to just have one. I also think, why not? Why limit yourself to just one if you don't have to? I can understand for financial or personal reasons why you may not be able to afford another, or you genuinely just like one, although I think that's pretty rare for many of us on here. XP

20. I honestly have more than one doll because I LOVE customizing and honestly, if I don't have another doll to customize, I get sad. Eventually I will re-do dolls and such, but I am proud of my work so all of my dolls are special to me :).
