Will you choose Chinese BJD company?

Jun 23, 2010

    1. In all honesty I wouldn't mind getting dolls from a Chinese company, cause when you see a doll you like, isn't that all that counts? XD

    2. I have a Angel of Dream and a Spiritdoll limited boy already and they're gorgeous lovely dolls. Those two are also among my best posers, the Spiritdoll 70cm body is a wonder!

Customer service from both was great and now I'm considering Angell Studio and Ringdoll with their new tinies and big boys respectively. I have to say, for sculpting and poseability many of these companies have upped their game (and their prices sadly for my wallet, lol ^^) I wouldn't hesitate to buy from a good Chinese doll company again.

    3. How many of you will take dolls from Chinese BJD company?
As most said ,the important thing is the sculpt itself, not where it's made !
Which Chinese BJD company you love most?
Uhm.. let me think.. actually I do not have Chinese Bjd (yet XD ) but I really love DZ delicate sculpt as Lola.
When you decide to take a doll, what's the point you care most?
The sculp, the posability of the body.. sometimes I love the sculpt of the face but not the body, so I go for a hybrid..

    4. Some of the Chinese companies are my most favorite :D!
      I love Ringdoll and Dollzone!

    5. How many of you will take dolls from Chinese BJD company?
-- my first is from DZ, Shyo
Which Chinese BJD company you love most?
-- I don't know, but I really love chinese sculptor
When you decide to take a doll, what's the point you care most?
      -- face and body figure

    6. I don't have any dolls from a Chinese company currently, but I have owned them in the past. It's not a conscious decision or anything, I don't care where the doll is made as long as it catches my eye. I have no idea if I'll own a Chinese made doll in future, for me it's all about construction, quality and attention to detail... where the doll was made has absolutely no bearing on whether or not I'll buy it :)

    7. How many of you will take dolls from Chinese BJD company?
I own a Camellia Dynasty Kylin and a Boy & Girl Loretta.

Which Chinese BJD company you love most?
Apart from the kylin, who was my first BJD, I really admire the work of some Chinese doll makers like Angell-Studio, Ringdoll, or B&G.

When you decide to take a doll, what's the point you care most?
An overall sculpt quality, both about the head mold and body proportions.

    8. Country of origin is pretty irrelevent to me; my only considerations are the head sculpt, body aesthetics and posability. I've yet to see a Chinese sculpt I actually like though; the sculpts of some companies such as DZ actually repel me - the eyes are too far apart and the mouths far too wide for my tastes. So whilst I do own a couple of AOD bodies and an Fdoll body, the heads on all three dolls are Luts heads because the CP style is much more to my taste. The bodies are good, and the Fdoll body has seriously impressed me with the posability - in fact I'm considering selling off the AOD bodies and replacing them with Fdoll bodies.

But until I see a head sculpt I actually like, I won't be buying any full Chinese dolls.

    9. How many of you will take dolls from Chinese BJD company?
Already have! And making plans to get more!
Which Chinese BJD company you love most?
That, my dear, depends on when you ask me. Although Ringdoll, B&G, and Bobobie have all taken that spotlight at least once. So many pretty dolls <3
When you decide to take a doll, what's the point you care most?
The most important thing is whether or not I love the sculpt. I seem to favor Chinese BJD sculpts over most others for various reasons. Not something I did intentionally but this topic actually made me go back and check.

    10. How many of you will take dolls from Chinese BJD company?
      I will, soon...
Which Chinese BJD company you love most?
Ringdoll and B&G have beautiful doll´s
When you decide to take a doll, what's the point you care most?
The resin quality and the headsculpt

    11. What's wrong with Chinese companies? I love my Zhile, and he's from Doll Family. I love the quality and the company. I also have 2 dolls coming from them. Also I got a girl from Illusion Spirit.

    12. I really don't care about where the doll comes from as long as it matches my standards for aesthetics and quality. The slight price break is a great bonus though. :) I absolutely LOVE Spirit Doll bodies, they're totally beautiful and I'm really tempted to just buy one even though I have no idea what head I'd want to put on it; same goes for Ringdoll (the new Grown line - OMG), though I'm hoping the new resin they switched too will be nicer. I think B&G dolls are really cute too, even though they're not exactly my stylistic choice (they look more like Delfs, and I really don't like large eyes on mature dolls).

    13. my first doll's body is from chinese company
and my second doll is from china also
i think the resin of chinese company is not worse and some of them even better than those in korea
but these just my feelings anyways~

    14. I don't think it matters (I don't really care) if my doll comes from Korea, China, or Japan. As long as they are of good quality and I love them, I don't really care. So yes of course I would get a doll from a Chinese company, that is if they have good customer service, good doll quality, as well as a sculpt I extremely like. :)

    15. I ordered my first BJD from a Chinese company, and i couldn't be happier, not only is he magnificent and very detailed in his sculpt, but his price was very good and the customer service they gave me, couldn't be better...
He is a Tong Tong Male version from 5StarDoll and to my eyes, there couldn't be any other BJD more suitable to be my first, i love everything about him and the kindness and nice sevice i recieved from 5SD!!!
So i would highly recommend this Chinese company...

      O(")_(")O

    16. I hadn't thought about this before, but I went over my dollpack and all seven are Korean. It seems as though I have a strong preference for Korean sculpts--I just haven't cared for any of the Chinese dolls I've seen so far. To be perfectly honest, if I was interested in a Chinese-made doll I would check out the company's reputation first, just because there were problems in the past, but then I'm a cautious person with too long a memory.

    17. I buy dolls based on their emotional appeal to me, not where they are from. My first doll was Japanese- but a Japanese vinyl, and not even a Volks, but an Obitsu. She is still my favorite doll. My next doll was Korean (Elfdoll Red). This was early on in my involvement and I had no idea about all these silly controversies, I just bought the doll I liked. My next doll was Chinese (DZ Feilian) because I fell in love with her sulky little face. I think with DZ, their faces are so unique (which was why I was so surprised when I finally wandered onto DoA over a year later and discovered the "copying" controversy) that you either love them or hate them. I find them full of character and humor. I find the CP dolls to also have a unique style of sculpt that shows a lot of character.

Since then I have bought many dolls from many companies: Volks (resin MSD), Souldoll, DIM doll, Bobobie, Resinsoul, Luts (CP), Iplehouse, Limhwa, Lumedoll, Garden of Dolls, Shinydoll, Planet Doll, Angel of Dream, Fantasy Doll, Customhouse, Island Doll, Dream Realm, Doll Family.

I love all of my dolls and could never imagine selling one of them. Each and every one of them was specially and thoughtfully chosen.

I have to say, though, that lately I have been on a real ResinSoul minis jag. I find their delicately-sculpted little faces to be sooo charming and irresistible. It has nothing to do with cost or country of origin. A lot of people don't like the way they pose, but I love the way they flop into relaxed and natural positions. I find their faces to be unique and their resin quality is nice.

One thing that does bother me a bit is when someone writes that they would never, ever buy a Chinese doll. I find it hard to believe that anyone could be so certain that a country that has been producing incredible, beautiful artwork for literally thousands of years could never possibly create a doll that would be acceptable to their standards. It's one thing to say you don't find any of the current dolls to your taste- but to say there is no way a Chinese company could EVER produce a doll good/beautiful/of high quality enough?

There are a lot of Chinese dolls I don't like and companies absolutely do not appeal to me, but I can say the same thing for some of the Korean and Japanese companies as well. I'm not saying the dolls aren't nice or pretty or whatever, they just don't do anything for me.

      Everyone is different.

    18. It doesnt matter to me which country a doll comes from as long as I am in love with the mold and it is from a reputable doll company. I do not own any Chinese dolls at the moment, but that could change in the future as I really do love DZ Cosmo mold.

    19. I honestly don't see the difference, Korean and Chinese company or HK companies are mostly the same, you have good and bad factories, you have original and mostly regular designs, I never look up to see "where" does the doll come as long as it gets here as I want in one piece, for example I have buoyed from HZ-company and I think it's Chinese (I'm not sure since I buoyed from a reseller), the products where nicely made, and I think Resin Soul it's also Chinese, I have 3 RS dolls so far and their service it's much better than the service BBB has provide me in passing days...

    20. Personally I like the dolls of the company 'Illusion Spirit' they look beautiful <3
