1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Will you choose Chinese BJD company?

Jun 23, 2010

    1. I haven't bought from a Chinese company, I'm a bit of a Fairyland junkie, but that doesn't mean I never will. It's not where it comes from that matters, it's if I like the mold or not. If I like a mold, then I'll buy the doll regardless of the location.

    2. I believe company reputation and quality are much more important than the country of origin. A lot of Chinese made dolls are simply beautiful and very well made. Heck, BBB/RS even sands them without an extra fee. And they ship by DHL which is a +. EMS shipments would transfer to TNT over here, I don't trust TNT with anything this expensive anymore. Or buy from a Dutch retailer which works fine.

If you fall in love with a sculpt, and the company has a fine reputation, order.

    3. I'm brand new to DoA and just beginning my crazed collecting of dolls. They hit me fairly recently. I came here to look up the Two.S.Doll just for this reason, wondering about buying from what I think is a fairly new, AND Chinese company. Thanks for the thread topic and answers. Very helpful. This one would be my first new doll. I've been buying on auction. I'm just beginning my infatuation with bjd. My little family is growing very fast. So I may have already bought a Chinese made doll, as I read through this thread. Very informative for me. That's what I'm here for. To learn. And I am NOT disappointed. This is great.

    4. I don't personally consider the country of origin into my decision to buy a doll or not. It's all about the sculpt for me. If I like it...I like it. It's that simple.

That said, of the first 6 dolls that Morningheart and myself have bought, one is from a Chinese company (Resinsoul Ai), and I think the other 5 are from Korean companies.

    5. My first doll is an Asleep Eidolon Blueberry, which is a Chinese company. I like their face sculpts. Maybe in the future I will get a Lemon from them too. Right now my sister and I are waiting on a Dollzone Aaron, as soon as I get him I will see if I really like the Dollzone dolls so I will post back later.

    6. It's never occured to me check out where a company is located. I don't mean to sound ignorant (and I swear I'm not) but pretty much Korea, Japan, China... ALL far away from Canada.
My first two both turn out to be Chinese, DollZone and Island. I read DZ earlier in the thread and checked Island's Wiki to make sure they were not affected by the tsunami.
Typically if I like a doll, the company (generally) will not deter me.

    7. Out of my dolls, I only have one that's actually Japanese. My preference goes, strangely, towards the Chinese companies and their molds. Four of my dolls are Chinese (3 Spirit dolls, 1 Illusion Spirit head). One is Korean (Dream of Doll, though I also have a head and some parts from Soom), and then the final Japanese.

Out of the lot though, I have to say I'm probably more inclined to go either Japanese or Chinese - I've had nothing but excellent service and quality product from them, whereas my experiences with the Korean companies has been less than stellar. But that's just me - some people get excellent service from Korean companies, I've not been so lucky.

    8. It doesn't matter much to me where a company is located. I make my decisions based on sculpts and poseability. I really like Dollzone and Doll-Leaves sculpts, and also own more than one doll by both, so these two would be my favourites among Chinese BJD companies. And I also like the mini-sized girl body by AoD... And somewhere on my wishlist, a coffee-coloured RS Li also appeared recently. Obviously, I have no problems at all with BJD companies from China :)

    9. I'm more concerned about the mold and quality than where the company is located, be it Korea, Japan, China...wherever. My first doll is probably going to be from Bobobie.

    10. my first dolls were dollzone msd kids. I'm very satisfied with them.

Which Chinese BJD company you love most?
Dollzone and Resinsoul. first one - for the perfect quality, second one - I love to do makeups for their dolls. ^_^ I do not own any resinsoul doll yet, but maybe I will buy soon. )

When you decide to take a doll, what's the point you care most?
Quality and how the company works with its clients.

    11. How many of you will take dolls from Chinese BJD company?

I'd consider a doll from a Chinese company, sure. So far, all my dolls are Korean - I just like their aesthetic best. But, if I see a doll I like from a Chinese company, provided that the company has good reviews, I'd gladly welcome her into my dolly family.

Which Chinese BJD company you love most?

None really right now, but that's because I haven't really explored all of them yet. I'm focusing on my wish list and once I am done with it, I'll start looking at all the other BJD companies out there.

When you decide to take a doll, what's the point you care most?

Well, the three most important factors to me are sculpt (both face and body), joint engineering and resin quality. The doll would have to have all three for me to buy her. I tried out dolls that lacked in one of the three areas, figuring that the other two aspects would compensate, and it just doesn't work for me.

    12. Without even thinking, a majority of my dolls are Chinese! :D
      I have 2 BBB, a B&G, and a 5Star.

So far, I think 5Star is my favorite...and I'm biased because they put up a Tumnus and I LOVE C.S. Lewis.

Head sculpts are the most important part. I also like fantasy parts.

    13. My only doll at this moment is a Resinsoul Mu. People sometimes talk about the quality being less with Resinsoul dolls, but I would have a hard time agreeing with that. He's the perfect doll, in my opinion. I'd definitely buy another doll from them.

    14. Just like any company I've looked at before - I need to know their reputation. Like right now I'm thinking about buying From HZ, a Chinese company for my next doll. I need to know their reputation, just like.. how i'm finding out AH's right now while my doll from them is on order ..XDD

    15. I don't really think about country of origin when I buy dolls, but all of the ones I own or have owned are either Japanese or Korean. I buy dolls that I like, and if I end up loving a sculpt by a Chinese company then I'll happily get it. I really like HZ sculpts, so I'll probably end up with one of theirs at some point.

I think a lot of the reason why I only have Japanese and Korean dolls so far is that I tend towards the older and more established companies (I've bought from Luts, Volks and Dream of Doll) and a lot of the Chinese companies are newer. Then again, I broke that rule with my latest doll and opted for a newer company and wasn't disappointed, so maybe I'll do so again in the future.

    16. I own 2 dolls of Ringdoll , but they are on the way...and I own a doll of spirit doll named firson (zhangwu).
I have to say that the two company I love the best in china is ringdoll and spirit doll~~
the body structure of spirit doll is gorgeous~~

    17. I just got my first Angell Studio doll and I'm insanely happy with him. I almost feel bad that I was so amazed by how well he's made, but I really was. Plus he's just gorgeous <3

When I was planning on ordering him, origin had nothing to do with it... I totally fell in love with his little face and the bunny ears X3

    18. I own only Chinese dolls right now. I admit, I do have plans to eventually buy a couple of South Korean dolls (Oasis Dolls, and one from SoulDoll.) However, even when that happens the large majority of my dolls will be from Chinese companies. There's really no reason not to have Chinese dolls, as they are quite beautiful, though sometimes I have those few characters who just seem to fit better with dolls from other companies.

However, I must say RingDoll bodies are amazing. Despite their recent problems, they tie with Angel of Dream as my favorite Chinese company.

    19. Well my first (and only) doll, Miki, is a Doll Leaves doll. It was love at first sight and I couldn't give a damn what country the company was from. And ever since I've gotten him in my hands, I ca' stop loving him. There's nothing about him that dissatisfies me. Not to mention that their production time is a couple of days, shipping is fast and customer service great!

    20. :aheartbeaI think my first doll will be from KIZDOLL.:aheartbea
