1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Will you choose Chinese BJD company?

Jun 23, 2010

    1. My second doll, but first boy^-^, is from Loongsoul [Morgan 75 cm] and I really please with him!
I don't see any problem any also his resin quality is good to and his pose is great!! That what I can tell.
But yah... have to say those Chinese outfits were a bit less quality than Korea and I won't campair with Japan volk! But still nice if you don't mine in unsee details ^^

    2. I don't see how this could even be a consideration? I mean if the company is good and has a clean history why the heck would it matter what country they're from?

    3. Most likely not. I've owned only one Chinese doll before and while he was cute his design was so simplistic I finally wound up selling him. From what I've seen, most Chinese dolls are neither sculpted nor engineered as advanced as a Korean or Japanese dolls, and their faces hold a different aesthetic to them that don't really appeal to me. I've yet to find one that didn't have this distinct Chinese style of sculpting. It's not a bad thing, just not to my tastes. I still check out new Chinese dolls to see if any of them catch my interest but over the years they are easy for me to overlook.

    4. Of course I would. and I do. I have 5 dolls from Angell Studio and I'm waiting for 2 more to arrive. I always loved Angell Studio's quality and service, that's why they are probably my favorite doll company. But to me, it doesn't matter where the company is from. It depends on quality, service, and if I like any of the molds they have. ^^

    5. I never really paid attention to where the companies were located at first. Then I started making notes as to what I did or didn't like about sculpts. My likes and wants are met mostly by Korean companies (which is sort of funny because I adore Korean manga styles). I have yet to find a Chinese sculpt that I just die over. Well that's not true. I love Ringdoll Petter, but I won't order from them until they get their BS straightened. Then I might get him.

    6. My favorites are definitely Angell-Studio and Boy&Girl :)

    7. I currently don't have any Chinese BJD's on my wishlist but I like Spiritdoll and Loongsoul a lot. It doesn't matter which country is the BJD company from - if I fall in love with a doll, I will buy him/her!

    8. Well, it depends. I own Chinese, Korean and Japanese dolls (these last two including one unoa 1.5 and two Volks), and I'm quite happy with my two Chinese BJDs, too, even if the B&G tiny could have more aesthetically pleasing hands and legs. Besides, currently my biggest source of frustration is a non-resin BJD kit from a Japanese company (Padico, who make Ladoll and other clay stuff), which has frankly been a complete waste of my money.

OTOH, in my experience Korean dolls (from Minoruworld, Felixdoll and recently Cherishdoll) have been consistently of a good quality and at the right price bracket.

    9. I feel the same. I sold my very first doll, which was sculpted in China, simply because after years of collecting Korean dolls I began to see the difference and I finally had to admit I liked the aesthetic quality of my Korean dolls better. There are some beautiful Chinese dolls out there, but I'd rather look at them in photos than own them for myself.

    10. I haven't gotten any doll from the chinese company but my friend got her from dollzone and he look good =)

    11. I have never ordered Chinese Bjd but plan to so in next few months.
I think chinese company create many lovely molds lately and the price is good!

    12. How many of you will take dolls from Chinese BJD company? I own two AODs and one Leeke. I love my AODs just as much as my Leeke. My An was the first one I owned and I am extremely partial to his mould. He's got a very lovely smirk!

Which Chinese BJD company you love most? I only have AODs, so I'd have to say them. I've not had much experiance with the other companies so I'm only going on my personal experiance

When you decide to take a doll, what's the point you care most? Their facial sculpt. I love their faces and body. Mostly, though, I'm pleased if the facial features are just as lovely as in the orignal photo. With AODs, I do find they're far more lovely in person than in photos

    13. How many of you will take dolls from Chinese BJD company?
it depend if i like the doll or not
Which Chinese BJD company you love most?
      fairyland
When you decide to take a doll, what's the point you care most?
      the look it guess

    14. My girl is a DollZone Ani. ^-^

    15. My very first doll was from a Chinese BJD Company called Doll Family. Zhile is a Doll Family-H Lingfeng, whom I love dearly. I love the company and the quality of the dolls. I have two more from China. Foren=Doll Family-H Duanyu and Miriz=Illusion Spirit Phoenix. I don't see why people should think that Chinese BJD companies are inferiors. I love them. I have two dolls from Korea, a DollNDoll Loren who is Ieanah and my Triesten=Crobidoll Yeon-Ho but Zhile will always be close and dear to me.

    16. I've owned a Chinese Company made doll, a ton of Korean dolls and finally a japanese doll. While I'd still consider a chinese company if I fell in love with the mould - I've come to lean away from them. Partly because I tend to prefer different aesthetics and partly because the chinese doll I owned was very much a disappointment. The resin wasn't as nice, and company face-up was flaking off within 2 days and they refused to do anything about it, not to mention various delays and shipping problems. There's been one company I haven't bought from yet but who were very helpful in answering my questions and photo requests. A local friend recently bought Yo-SD sized twins from them and they are absolutely adorable and great quality. So I wouldn't refuse a company on the basis of being Chinese - but I'll definitely be more cautious about which ones I will consider.

    17. I don't own a doll from a Chinese company and have no intention of owning one in the future. To be frank, I've yet to see a Chinese doll that suits me aesthetically, and some tend to look a bit cheap to me (Ringdoll, for example)...

Actually, I find myself liking Korean companies above others~

    18. How many of you will take dolls from Chinese BJD company?
I will..I've been in love with Doll-love's Snow-sing, Alice, Kaja, and Luck( already planning on ordering her (Snow-sing) either this or next month)

Which Chinese BJD company you love most?
      Doll-love

When you decide to take a doll, what's the point you care most?
      the mold/sculpt of the face..

    19. It doesnt matter to me..... if i like how a doll looks, as long as the company sends it it a reasonable time, and i havent heard bad things about their shipping (recurring themes of breakage and whatnot) i dont care what country its from

    20. Naturally, I wouldn't. I don't have anything against chinese dollmakers/companys but in my country, anything imported from China that is catched by customs must add 350% of the cost stated... And I am plenty sure customs would never pass the chance of taking that money from a doll that costs USD $290. So yeah, I wouldn't because of that. But, if im buying through a dealer, and the package comes from, say the US then I'd buy. Actually, I'm planning to buy my DZ Mo through a dealer! :)
