Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Will you choose Chinese BJD company?

Jun 23, 2010

1. After nine Korean dolls, I'm getting my first Chinese bjd, a Granado Boyd. I'm excited, because his body sculpt is amazing-- as beautiful in photos as my very expensive Soom IDealians. And apparently, he's heavy, too, as the sculptor left the tunnels for the elastic narrow to give the body stability. So I think he'll be a good value.

2. My husband just went to China & got home yesterday. He brought me 3 DollZone dolls from there. I love them all. They are well made & I think adorable!!

I'd buy a doll from anywhere, as long as I liked the mold. Location doesn't matter - I've run into shipping problems in my own country and others. I definitely value DOA members and their opinions - I always check here for reviews and suggestions before making a purchase though & possibly losing a bunch of money. There will always be people out there that love and hate certain molds, just buy what makes you happy! :)

3. I've noticed that most dolls that immediately catch my eye are from China. Their aesthetic must be appealing to me.
I currently own 3 Dollzones, and hope to add either 1 or 2 more to finish my family.

4. i own some Chinese dolls in fact one of them was my first doll
my favourite Chinese company is doll-love they have some really sweet dolls at a good price for people new to the hobbie which was why i picked there kaja as my first doll

5. My first doll was a DZ Mo, and I'm very very happy with him. Love the sculpt and the quality, imo, is very good as well.

6. I don't have a doll yet but actually, I've banned myself from all the Chinese sites to not risk falling for a chinese doll... :( haha. It's all about the customs fees. I wouldn't be able to carry that out with my current finance means. I live in Denmark :)
It 'd be expensive as well from Korea, but luckily for me, new rules will be setting off in my country this July that says free trade between Denmark and South Korea!(I think)
I'm sooo happy!
So yea... no "made in China" for now :)

7. I own Snow-Sing from Doll Love. She's perfect!

8. I own 4 Dollzone tinies and one Resinsoul MSD. Didn't even know they were all Chinese until I saw both companies mentioned in this thread. I go for the faces that appeal to me, and I never really even look at the company name until I decide which doll I want the most.
I think there's something in the aesthetics of Chinese sculpts that catches my eye rather than most of the Korean/Japanse. At least 75% of the dolls I want are Chinese.

9. How many of you will take dolls from Chinese BJD company?
I don't have any Chinese BJD but I'm rather worried about the quality for it's cheaper compare to any other Korean BJD company's pricing for BJD...sorry, but that's just my personal opinion and I have little idea about them as well >___<
Which Chinese BJD company you love most?
erm...I think so far Dollzone's dolls are quite nice looking 6___6

When you decide to take a doll, what's the point you care most?
Face sculpt and also the body shape n___n

10. I have two Chinese and two Korean made dolls. My next two dolls are Chinese and the doll after that will be from a Korean company. I'm very happy with the company Dragon Doll and Dream Realm. Very different styles of doll, but they are sturdy, pose well, and I like the resin's toughness. My Korean dolls have resin like butter, very silky smooth and I'm afraid easy to hurt.

My main attraction to a doll is how it meets my thinking will match my present dolls, so it would be hard to say make this or make that. I love more original head molds. Not too childish, not too real human looking. I chose a company because it has a good reputation for delivery, the Chinese companies have that, very fast, very easy. And when I had to have replacement parts, the company was very quick to help. I find myself more interested in dolls made by Chinese companies, probably because of the art style behind the doll inherent in the culture? It's hard to be more clear than that. Both Chinese and Korean companies make beautiful dolls. I really don't know of any Japanese companies besides Volks and their style is too strange to my eyes now.

11. How many of you will take dolls from Chinese BJD company?
I just have a Dragondoll SD boy body for the moment.

Which Chinese BJD company you love most?
Uh I don't know. I'm not found of the dragondoll's body, so... ^^"
But Dollzone's sculpts are pretty~

When you decide to take a doll, what's the point you care most?
The price. I was poor but I really wanted a body for my boy. I chose a cheap and not-so-bad body !

12. How many of you will take dolls from Chinese BJD company?
I will if the quality is good. My one and only doll is from a Chinese company.

Which Chinese BJD company you love most?

Oasisdoll all the way. :)

When you decide to take a doll, what's the point you care most?

The look of the doll is the most important, followed by poseability. Price is not a big concern because if you love the sculpt, you will save for it even if it takes a long time.

13. My first doll is from a chinese company.
I really like companies like Asleep Eidolon and 5Star Doll now.

14. I love 5stardoll! I would totally buy from them again!

15. How many of you will take dolls from Chinese BJD company?
Why not? It's a bit sad that there's some stigma surrounding Chinese BJD companies. I mean, it feels like we either have "BJDs" or "Chinese BJDs" from what I see. @_@ I know people get concerned about quality, but just do your research and you should be fine. Personally, I don't care about which country my doll(s) come from! If I like it, then that's all that matters. ♥

Which Chinese BJD company you love most?
I used to be in love with Angell-Studio, but my current fave is Or-doll ♥

When you decide to take a doll, what's the point you care most?
Definitely the aesthetics! I don't care much for posing, and price, I can give leeway to that if I really like the doll. xD

16. I didn't realize Oasisdoll was Chinese. I have Oasisdoll Natalie and I absolutely love her. Her aesthetic and quality are comparable to Elfdoll, one of my favorite Korean dollmakers.

I also have an IslandDoll body that I purchased for an OT doll. Again, I am very pleased with the quality and would not hesitate to buy from them again. I bought from ID on eBay and had a very positive experience: quick service, good communicaton, and a good quality, poseable body.

17. I love them, but I thought the designer is Chinese girl, while the company should be Korea

18. How many of you will take dolls from Chinese BJD company?
Well currently my darlings are on their way from DollZone :3

Which Chinese BJD company you love most?
I'd say DollZone so far, because their dolls are beauties and the employees are really nice to talk with.
Also I don't know a whole lot about BJD companies, yet.

When you decide to take a doll, what's the point you care most?
Since a doll is so expensive and.. important. I'll only buy dolls I feel something about. And not just "s/he's pretty!", but someone I can see imagine in my lap, on my windowsill and things like that. I used a massive amount of time thinking about which doll I wanted for my first, and since I kept looking at DZ HID, I felt that he might be right for me :XD:
So, the point I care for the most is the bonding, actually.

19. How many of you will take dolls from Chinese BJD company?
I am and I will. Four of our dolls are Chinese and we love them

Which Chinese BJD company you love most?
Resinsoul. Really.

When you decide to take a doll, what's the point you care most?
Face

20. I don't own any Chinese dolls and don't have any intentions of buying any at the moment, but that's mainly because I haven't found a Chinese company whose aesthetics match mine just yet. If I find a Chinese doll I like, I wouldn't hold back solely because of the location of the company.

The most important thing to me is that I like the look of the doll. The country of origin is irrelevant.
