1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Will you choose Chinese BJD company?

Jun 23, 2010

    1. My very first doll is a X2/AOD hybrid and both are chinese companies, I also have a Dollzone head. :)

What I look at the most when choosing a new doll is body proportions, sometimes I like a face sculpt but not the body so even if I like the face I won't get that doll. I also look at the price but sometimes I'm willing to pay a little more for a doll I really like.

    2. Ringdoll is Chinese, right? That's where I'm getting my Lucifer.

    3. Sure. I would do the research on the doll I am interested in just like any other dolls and companies.

I really like Song from Resinsoul. I have seen some great pictures of him on the forum :)

For me personally I like to buy dolls after I have seen and touched them in person. I like my dolls to be sturdy and solid, dolls with fragile parts would stress me out too much right now.

    4. How many of you will take dolls from Chinese BJD company?
Which Chinese BJD company you love most?
When you decide to take a doll, what's the point you care most?

I do my research, but I happily have some Chinese dolls in my family.

I do like Dollzone quite a bit, but I am thrilled with my other Chinese dolls.

The headsculpt is the most important point for me, with the body sculpt and posing being second-most important. I'm finding myself really drawn to the overall style of the heads from a lot of Chinese companies.

    5. if I like a doll I don't care about where is the company located, that will not make any difference to me

    6. At the moment all my dolls are from Chinese companies. I didn't plan it that way, they were just the dolls I happened to warm to the most.

      Bobobie/Resinsoul

A face that I can imagine a character for. There are loads and loads of dolls that are pretty or handsome, but what separates a doll I want to buy from one I can just look at pictures of and be perfectly content is whether I see a story possibility.

    7. I have 2 Chinese dolls + 2 guys buy Sakura and Paper (now sure is this company on-topic here or not).
Sakura and Paper. Their creatures are so cute and crazy ))

    8. I've got a Dollzone Wendy, who I got late last year, and got my Dika Doll in the mail a few days ago. I normally buy from distributors so the country of origin isn't that big a deal to me.

My favorite Chinese BJD company right now is Xaga Doll, for their Red Obsidian (mature tiny) line.

When choosing a doll, scale is very important to me because I only collect mature tinies and in-scale children. While Wendy isn't a normal human doll, she fits with my group in terms of scale. Dika Doll's Tea also meets the scale requirement, has elf ears unlike any others I've seen, "dreaming" eyes, and is available tan! I've got a weakness for tan resin. I only have one Xaga Doll so far, but want one or two more. The joints and posing are lovely.

    9. Back when I answered this thread the first time, I didn't have any dolls in the collection that came from China, though I had owned a few bodies from a Chinese company the past and was considering a DZ Megi. I never did get that little guy... But in the time since, I have added a DC Dolores, a FectDoll Patia, two Dream High micros and a number of little off-topic DC and DZ companion beasties, plus ordering a solo DC body to hybrid with my Dollshe Orijean head.

China has become pretty well-represented in my crew.

As others have said, while people may have had some reservations about Chinese doll companies a few years ago, a lot has changed in the hobby and I don't think that's so much the case anymore. Dolls from China seem to have become just as common as dolls from Korea or Japan in people's collections.

    10. Sure, why not? As long as it's good quality, I don't care if it's from China or if it's from Mars.

    11. How many of you will take dolls from Chinese BJD company?
Now, I will say 2 (My first doll is AoD mengli and second is DZ Miss kitty OwO)

Which Chinese BJD company you love most?
      Doll Zone

When you decide to take a doll, what's the point you care most?
      Price!!!!! OAO!!!!

    12. That is a tricky question for me, because as much as i like some dollies from there, they don't offer ems to my country and that is a big trouble, using another shipping company is just to find troubles. I just had been able to adquire little ones from dealers, they send me for airmail n.n, they are so cute.
I like the little pets from dollzone and the girls from maskcat doll, also the heads from LLT. Oh well there are much to choose from u.u

    13. Well, I have to admit I'm biased. I would choose the doll from Mars over the one from some country on Earth any day :)

    14. Angell Studio Amy was my early favorite and even grail doll at some point and never even knew it's Chinese company. Not what it matters anyway. If I like the doll it doesn't matter to me where in the world it was made or what country it ships from.

    15. I only have a doll from Resinsoul, I fell in love with the body sculpt. Another company I like is Doll Leaves. I can't see any difference with Korean or Japanese dolls. The difference is more from one company to another.

    16. I only have one doll at the moment and he's from a Chinese company and I think most of the dolls on my wishlist are from Chinese companies.

    17. It doesn't matter what country the doll was made in, as long as I like the mold I would buy them. ^^

    18. The only Chinese company which I really trust is Asleep Eidolon. Well, I know that Resinsoul, for example, is very nice in communicating and as i know, they make really quality dolls, but i don't find these dolls really special. I mean, there are so many beautiful RS dolls which were customed and with a specific makeup which was done by owner/makeuper, but comparing basic dolls - AE is the best.

    19. So far all my dolls are from Chinese companies except my 2 borys and one head, which are from Luts. While I like all of my dolls, I will say I like Bory the most since he was my first one. But I do like my Mystic Kids Cris quite a lot too.
