It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Will you choose Chinese BJD company?

Jun 23, 2010

    1. I will buy a doll from any company if I really like the sculpt and can afford it. Unless of course the company makes it very difficult to buy dolls from them which I heard can happen. I like the ResinSoul dolls esthetics and also Mystic Kids... is that a Chinese company? I think so! If the real question is - are you biased towards Korean companies then I can say that I am not! It doesn't impress me in any way that a doll is from Korean or Japanese company and I don't believe it to be any better just because of that.

    2. How many of you will take dolls from Chinese BJD company?
      I will and I am already ^^
I bought 2 dolls from Hongkong (so not really China), and 3 from Chinese company which is doll family (head) and Loongsoul (body), one left is a practice sculpt from their local artist

Which Chinese BJD company you love most?
Still haven't decided yet, because I still haven't love any full doll from them. The one I love the head sculpt, not really fond of their body, and reverse xD

When you decide to take a doll, what's the point you care most?
      Their face sculpt !
And for body, must be a nice poser before a nice sculpt xD If the body also pose nice and look good than it is perfect !
That is why I love body from Chinese company more than Korean one, their lock system and stand-bility is gorgeous ! I love how hard their jointed are, make me feel satisfy when I play with them.

    3. I love Chinese BJD companies!!! Prices are very reasonable and the seams are sanded for no extra cost!! Plus I can find sculpts from all of the Chinese companies that I love!

I know alot of people want to visit Japan and South Korea but one of the medicines I am on is illegal in Japan but totally legal in China. I am not sure of the legality of it in South Korea but I will have to look it up. My daughter wanted to go to Tokyo for vacation but I am trying to talk her into going to China instead!

    4. actually 2 of my girls are from chinese bjd companies, mirodoll and angel of dream. I also like bjds from angell studio, resinsoul, maskcat, akagi doll ,and doll leaves.

as long as the doll is pretty and i feel some sort of connection to him/her that's already fine for me.

    5. Ringdoll is Chinese, are they not? Cause I have 3 of those, Doll Chateau is my favourite (even though I don't have one yet I have three planned), I have one dollzone guy, one Resinsoul body (and soon more!), one gorgeous angell studio doll I love and a popodoll head, I plan to order from impldoll (their muscular female body:drool), one loongsoul body planned, one telesthesia doll planned,

      So I have 7 Chinese dolls/bodies, and 7 dolls/bodies planned.

I have 10 Korean dolls, plus three planned (and three heads).

    6. I have to admit, if I get a second doll it would probably be Angell Studio. I love their old style Chinese outfits, reminds me of seeing Shen Yun perform.

    7. How many of you will take dolls from Chinese BJD company?
I do not have any dolls from China, yet, but would love to buy some in the future.
Which Chinese BJD company you love most?
Hard to say. I love Loongsoul and AngellStudio, Doll Chateau, Miracle doll. There are more and more great companies and artists from China. They quality and aesthetics are not bad and prices are great.
When you decide to take a doll, what's the point you care most?
      Face sculpt, body posing.

I have a doll from South Korea, a faceplate from Japan, so I would love to get something from China too.:whee:

    8. Well I already have an MYou doll body and I'm hoping someday I'll be able to get a doll from Asleep Eidolon too since I love their sculpts :kitty2

    9. Doll Leaves is a really wonderful company! They have lovely MSD dolls for only around $150. :)
My boyfriend has twins from Doll Leaves, and they are really nice dolls.

    10. I wouldn't mind the country of origin of the company at all. If I find a sculpt that I like, I'll buy it. However, most Chinese doll sculpts tend to have similar lips that I don't like and that's why I don't own dolls from Chinese companies. That's not to say that it won't ever happen and I'd love to find new sculpts that I like!

    11. So far I have only purchased dolls from Chinese companies. I've done this quite by accident—I just keep falling in love with Chinese dolls. :kitty2

I have dolls from Mystic Kids and Akagi Doll; and I had, but recently re-homed, a Xaga Doll Bobby.
It's the face sculpts that draw me to these dolls. They represent this pleasing blend of stylized and realistic without leaning too heavily to one side or the other.

I will most likely buy from Chinese companies again in the future (in fact I've been eyeing MYOU Wind for a while now :sweat).

    12. I don't have very many BJDS, only three and one of them is considered off topic on DoA. I have one doll from DollZone, and another from Doll Chateau. If I'm not mistaken, those two are sister companies so both are Chinese. Both of my resin babies are very good quality and they are beautiful. I don't really think if matters if your doll is made by Chinese, Japanese, or Korean company as long as you love and cherish the doll you buy.

    13. Absolutely, I have bought dolls from Chinese companies in the past and would again. If they've got a doll I like, I don't care where a company is located! I have noticed one or two differences between my dolls that seem to be consistent - my dolls from Chinese companies came with sanded seams and are very solid posers, the ones from Korean companies have really detailed hands and feet and elegant body sculpts. But I love all of them and really don't think one type is better than the other.

    14. How many of you will take dolls from Chinese BJD company?
I already have one myself! and i adore her, her posing is wonderful, shes really well weighted, beautiful resin, and has such character in her faceup and posing ^_^

Which Chinese BJD company you love most?
I already have Angel studio, who'd I'd recommend to anyone, especially their 1/3 dolls! but I also really like Doll Chateau because they're so unique, but I haven't bought from there yet.
Also the customer serviced I've experienced from both companies have been wonderful!
Weirdly enough the two companies I really liked were both Chinese! I was a bit worried about the quality when I ordered initially, but after talking about it with some people here, and after I received the doll, I was floored.

When you decide to take a doll, what's the point you care most?
The posing, the aesthetic, the expression, and the uniqueness of the doll.

    15. Looking over my girlfriend's and my collection overall we do seem to have a bias for chinese companies! Out of 14 dolls total 8 of them are chinese companies. We do love resinsoul and doll chateau in this house.

    16. I don't know what countries some of mine are, though apparently ringdoll is Chinese and they're one of my favourites! I don't see why Chinese dolls would be worse than any other hers, of course I'd buy them! The sculpt is more important to me than country of origin.

    17. How many of you will take dolls from Chinese BJD company?
One of my first BJDs was a tiny from a Chinese company! :D

Which Chinese BJD company you love most?
AoZ! Heise's artwork has amazed me for years. If she ever produced an MSD doll that looked anything like her big SD boys I would be hitting that purchase button faster than you could blink!

When you decide to take a doll, what's the point you care most?
Creativity, most definitely. I look for dolls that are unusual or different, something that doesn't look like a repeat of every other company out there. Uniqueness wins in my book. Chinese artists are very good at being unique and not copying other "trends" in the doll community in my opinion.

    18. Well, that all depends on what they have.

    19. I have 3 chinese dolls! Myou loretta, onlydoll hongxiu and doll love yanyan! Very well made and pose well and cheaper.

    20. i want one too TuT i am curious about a little fox but i don't think its available now xo
