1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Will you choose Chinese BJD company?

Jun 23, 2010

    1. Yes I'm into ringdoll and loong soul which are chinese bjd company. I had about almost equal amount of dolls from both company. I probably buy more from them because they keep coming up with gorgeous doll. Lol I'm broke because of them.

    2. My only doll is a slim MSD girl from MYou Doll. She is gorgeous and poses extremely well (she's on their MSD girl body 1, the one with the extra posable arms and legs.) I also like Angell Studio and Volks sculpts, but MYou sculpts are just so gorgeous to me that if I ever buy another doll, I'm sure she will be one of theirs.

    3. My first doll is from Loongsoul and my next one on the way is from Ringdoll. I love their aesthetics overall.

    4. I love Chinese companies and most of my dolls are from them! My AE and 2D-doll hybrid is my little angel. And I have two boys that are hybrid shoushou/dfh and ringdoll.

    5. I love Doll Chateau, MYOU and Loongsoul. I have a Doll Leaves on pre-order. I was just looking on Alice Collections web site at another Loongsoul. They have one in stock that I wish I could afford and another new sculpt I love, Princess Changle. Ring Doll has White Tea who is on my wish list.

    6. I've bought from Dollzone, Doll Chateau, Resinsoul, Granado, and have a Loongsoul head that I bought secondhand. There might be more, but there are some dolls I remember buying but don't remember the sculpt or company anymore. And there's so many new Chinese companies and artists that all have wonderful sculpts that I've considered buying.

    7. How many of you will take dolls from Chinese BJD company?
      - I still prefer Korean brands over the chinese ones, but I've been seeing really good body sculpts from chinese brands. Many of them so resin matching well too! So yes.

Which Chinese BJD company you love most?
      - For body sculpts, I really like Ans69 from ANother Secret, and Vings68 from Vings. For head sculpts, I quite like those from Lees and US doll!

When you decide to take a doll, what's the point you care most?
      - Posability and aesthetics!

    8. Most of my dolls are from Chinese companies and I absolutely love them all. I had some issues with my MYOU doll being strung way too tight (which I didn't realize until later because he was my first doll), but that's about it (and the company was brand new at the time, which could be a factor). I recently ordered a bunch of dolls from Doll Zone and Coral Reef because I am absolutely in love with the new sculpts they've been coming out with, and they have gorgeous bodies as the cherry on top. There are so many quality Chinese artists out there, I can't imagine someone writing them off completely!

    9. I prefer Chinese companies, I just love their sculpts!
Love especially Angell-Studio, MYOU, Ringdoll and Asleep Eidolon.

I did not even look from where they are, I just fell in love with their dolls. Now I checked and they are all chinese.

    10. my very first doll was from Angell-Studio, he is a 1/3 boy Lucifer, i dont think they make his sculpt anymore but he was the one that got me into the hobby. I dont really look at where the company is from (as long as it is a legitimate company!) but rather just the draw of the sculpt and personality of the doll :)

    11. I like impldoll dolls. But I sold most of them and just keeping one where us impldoll azalea on dollshe 26f body. I simply love her face sculpt. Impldoll is Chinese company.

    12. My first doll was from a chinese company and I love her so yes.

    13. All my dolls so far have been from Chinese companies, so I would have to say yes. I have an impldoll, a dream valley, a miracle doll, and an off topic cat-taur.

    14. Will comparing with other doll companies, chinese companies have more choice on the body! I do not want all my doll have the same body, that will be so boring for me!

    15. I hadn't ever really thought about it, but my current three dolls are all from Chinese companies. All of them are great quality, and I love the faceup options the companies give. Usually the sculpt, mixed with the faceup being offered, is what sells me on a doll.

    16. This thread was started back in 2010, makes me really curious how much has changed! I believe all my dolls - Doll Chateau, Dollzone, Dream Valley, 白零WHITE - are from Chinese companies. Chinese companies also seem to dominate the market. Is my perception just skewed or is there really not much coming from Japan anymore?

    17. I think Volks is just overwhelmingly popular in Japan to the point where there's not a lot of competition, and other would-be makers in Japan can't compete with the lower costs of production in China.

That being said, I'm really glad that there's a lot of Chinese companies and small artists out there. Maybe more artists in Japan and Korea can work with (legit) Chinese casters to make their designs a reality.

    18. I have one Chinese company doll. It's a doll chateau. It's not here yet.

I don't know many Chinese doll companies, but I like the outfits, cost, sculpts, etc from angell studios, loong soul, and ring doll so far. I haven't bought any dolls from these companies because I tend to lean towards liking Korean and Japanese doll companies concepts, sculpts, outfits, etc more than the Chinese and European bjds. Korean and Japanese bjds tend to be closer to my personal preference in what I want in a doll.

For Chinese bjd companies i think i tend to look for if whether the concept and overall theme of the doll is well balanced. Sometimes when i see a bjd from a company like ring doll I love the face sculpt and outfits, but sometimes I feel like something feels off balanced with how the full set package doll comes together. I feel like sometimes the company is trying to add too many concepts together and give a lot of nice items in a set, but it feels mismatched. I don't know if that makes sense.

    19. I really like a lot of the Chinese BJD companies I've seen! Asleep Eidolon in particular is my favorite, I hope to own one of their dolls one day. I'm actually not exactly sure what draws me to the sculpts I like, but once I see a sculpt that I like I struggle to fight off the desire to purchase it:whee:

    20. @homemademonsters since you asked, back then, there was talk about if Korean dolls in particular were superior to Chinese. Obviously it's not true and never was. Such sweeping statements like that are generally biased and not factual. Hope that's helpful
The hobby has definitely changed tastes and ideas in some areas though. I think some of the trendiest companies now are based in China.
