1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Will you sell your doll to me?

Jan 25, 2010

    1. That would be so scary and ruin your whole day.

Or 9 million for that you could have a house built just to keep your dolls in and replace that doll easily.

    2. Happens all the time.

I just say: Not for sale, sorry!

    3. A little bit unrelated, but I was reading all the posts and many people said that no one would just ask a random person on the street if they could buy their shoes or something, and thus no one should ask to buy their doll.
Well, yesterday I was at a mall and a couple came up to me and asked me about my dress. I said that I bought it in China, and they insisted I sold it to them. I'm sorry, did you just expect me to rip off the dress and go home in my undies? What the hell, seriously, there is something wrong with some of the people in our society.
So yeah, I guess people will go up to someone and ask them to sell their clothing, lol. After that incident, asking someone to sell their doll almost seems normal to me.

    4. Wow there are some real nut jobs in the world.

Never happened to me and I'm glad of it. I'd probably just double the price of everything that makes the doll just to put them back in their place. I'd also never let a stranger hold my several hundred dollar doll. That's like giving them your wallet just to look at - no way!

Wow your clothing as well. Manners are completely in the toilet - no wonder why I homeschool my kids or they'll end up like that too

    5. That's crazy, I would have just laughed at them so much, I mean if they asked for the company name, or if you could order one for them fine. But your dress you are wearing that's insane, and the likely hood of the size being right is one in a million.

    6. I had this happen as well, but I didn't even tell her the right price (I'm not going to tell someone I have dolls worth over $1,000 sitting about the house). I told her they 'started at' $300 and if she wanted to get one I would help her. But she never followed up on it either and I just let it drop.

    7. I wouldn't be mean to someone if (when my doll finally arrives) they asked to buy it, but I would mostlikely decline. :P I would offer to show them some of the sites I like, give them some information about BJDs and my doll specifically, and show them pictures of other peoples' dolls of the same sculpt.

My friend posted pictures of her Miho on a site we go on, and I mentioned something about the Saint Head I'm waiting on, and someone I used to go to school with quoted me and was like "YOU HAVE ONE TOO?!" And I'm just waiting for her to be like "omg can i come see it can i hold it can i buy it," because she does that with everything I have. :'D She complimented a belt I made myself like every day and kept asking me to make her one. She was always drooling over the games I had and making offers on them, even just gameboy games I've had for ten or fifteen years. I'm sure she'll be begging for my friend's doll, and I know my friend will -not- like that. xD

    8. I was showing the dolls to my boyfriends niece yesterday (on the internet because I dont have one yet but am ordering some soon), shes 7, she sais to me "when you buy your doll can I have it?" My response "PPPFFTTT NO."

    9. Ahhah, this did happen to me at one out of three meets I ever went to. I just demurred and waited...very patiently...until she handed my little Charlie back. EDIT: I will note that I often do rehome dolls but I rarely ever bring the ones I will rehome with me to meets. I only bring the ones I'm bonded with to meets.....I dunno if that makes sense.

    10. umm.. I don't take my dolls out but there's no way.

    11. yes and I've always been very flattered because they're always very impressed and their eyes are shiny and big :) That changes to big and wide when I tell them the price and they realize it's more than they considered.

    12. I honestly don't understand why people ask, such an obvious question-? It's pretty cool to see how people respond to dolls, and why they like them (that's how we got in the hobby after all) but some questions just make you go 'what?' :? It's not reasonable.

    13. Yes.
I was a seller at an anime convention about two years ago; I only had Miyoubi back then.
I let her sit on the sofa which was on the table along with the merchandise I was selling.
Then people who saw her kept on asking lots of things. Some even want to buy her on the spot but of course, I told 'em she wasn't for sale because I won't sell her.

    14. I've never been asked by someone if they can buy my doll, however - I'm a doll maker, and I've been asked both to sell my originals and to make custom dolls. Of course, I'd never sell my originals...but what more is, the people who've wanted me to make dolls for them seldom realise just how much time and effort - and materials - that go into making one... When I say a price, they go 'that's expensive!'. >.>

    15. I never had that problem before, however I am constantly asked how much it is what was the name of the company

    16. So....I was at a convention yesterday. Myself and two of my friends bought a wagon and put all of our dollies in it. The convention turned out to be quite dull so we went and sat down at a table with our doll wagon next to us. A girl comes over and squeals over the dolls....and then proceeds to reach in and start picking up my tinies, without asking. We were all horrified as she wasn't being very gentle. She had my Orientdoll Dong So Ye Vampire (who isn't made anymore) in her hands and was flipping him over, removing his wings, and generally making me panic inside. She asks me how much I paid and I said $250 with face-up and outfit. She then asks what the cheapest doll in there was and I pointed out my BBB Elfkin which she then grabs. She asks how much I paid for her and I said about $150 with outfit, face-up. She then looks at me and says, "So if I give you $50 less would she come with everything?" I looked at her horrified and told her I wasn't selling her. She then rolls her eyes and says, "Everyone sells their stuff for a price. I just need to pick out what doll I want from you," and then puts money down on the table. I then said none of my dolls were for sale and to please not touch any of them again. She proceeded to come back 5 more times throughout the day to try and pick up my dolls and offer me money. The three of us were appalled! I'm still pissed off.

    17. Woh this is crazy! I'd be so pissed as well ; ___ ;

    18. Luckily I haven't had that kind of awful experience with my doll, but I've only really taken her out in public once lol. (I'm not that brave yet! ;x;b ) i brought her with me to an anime convention, and i saw some dolly people there who fawned and cooed over her, but no one asked my to sell her (thank god) I hpe that doesn't happen to me...but it might :x

@ roguegirl9929 that sounds absolutely dreadful! how spoiled do you have to be to think that someone would sell you their special doll! treating them poorly and mishandling expensive and important dolls, then expecting the person who loves them very much to just give them to you! It's almost like asking if you'd be willing to sell one of your family members after someone's kidnapped them or something.

    19. Hahaha some of these stories are insane!!!! I've had a couple people show interest and then when I tell them the price theyre just like NOP. and walk away xD''
Thankfully I havent encountered any of the doll grabbing insanity that some of you guys have O_O

    20. I would not get offended if someone asks if they can buy my doll, that means it's pretty enough for someone to make them want to buy it. BUT, not taking a no for an answer, or even demanding to have/buy my doll would totally make me punch them, and if they grab my doll without permission I will kill them. I can't stand people without manners. Thankfully in my country most people ask first if they can touch/hold something.
