It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. WITHdoll Mini Discussion Part 8

Apr 8, 2016

    1. Congrats on your girl. ^^ Not sure about domes but in my experience high dome eyes don't fit into any dolls without gapping. Or then I'm just unlucky with my sculpts, but I personally tend to only buy lower domes if I can, because of how I position them with a part of the iris being under the upper lid. Resin doesn't have any give, so naturally an eye with a high dome wont sit perfectly that way. But I think all WD girls should be able to fit 12mm size eyes into the eyewells itself -some even 14mm, regardless of the height of the dome.

As for the resin aging: Withdoll isn't that new a company anymore, I think they've been in business for at least 6 years already. I have a grey skin girl from 2011 and she's still a lovely grey colour. The blue tones from the color have faded out but she's not yet started to actually show yellow tones, she just look a little warmer now than originally. The other colour samples I have have also lost some of their blue and red pigments but they've stayed as nice tones anyway. My 2013 ns boy has also faded in red tones a little but but he's not yellow by any means. Overall, I think Withdolls urethanes age very well and comparatively to most other urethane dolls from other companies. The UV tones need the UV protection because they're french resin and naturally much more prone to yellowing, but urethanes aren't so much in need of it.

    2. If I could weigh in on the high dome vs. low dome question, I think the sculpt may determine which you should choose. I have four WD girls. Low dome eyes work well for Ruby, Emma and Angela (as well as my WD Egon). When I tried low dome eyes in Priscilla, however, they just didn't work, even though I tried every brand and size of glass and acrylic eye I had on hand. They just didn't sit right and she stared like a deer in the headlights. Finally I took a pair of high dome glass eyes out of another doll, put them in Priscilla, and they fit. I don't know if the eye wells are deeper or what it is, but I do think it depends on the individual sculpt. It's the first time I really like my Priscilla without feeling I need to keep fussing with her.

    3. @vermont chick She's lovely! What size of eyes did you find fits her best?

    4. I think they're 12mm. I didn't have any 10mm high domes to try on her, but so long as I see white on both sides of the iris I'm happy.:)

    5. Not sure if it's an oversight, but Witch Maid Ruby still seems to be up for order on their website.
I know they were doing stuff with some of their tinies, but it's odd seeing only one msd. Thought I'd mention it if anyone missed her and is able to order her now, though - if it's not an oversight, it's a nice opportunity!
Kinda wish I sold more of my stuff off before the last event though - I'd love to have ordered an Egon in rosybrown or something, lol. :lol:Not super heartbroken, but... elves man. I hope eventually they make more elf dolls; I'd love an elf priscilla and an elf eliza.

Is anyone planning on getting a doll soon?
I really hope their next event they open up orders for Elf Hunter Emma again! A Kiara would be extremely tempting, too... Also, for those with boys and girls -- are the boys' heads really that much bigger than the girls'?

Also, seems I forgot to respond earlier, but @vermont chick I am glad you found some eyes you liked on your Priscilla! :D

    7. He's super cute, @vvnem, but I think you might be in the wrong thread. :) This is for the Minis, not the tinies.

    8. Also, I totally forgot to ask this earlier, but -- does anyone know when Withdoll started to produce CoAs? I don't think they started out making them...?

    9. I got my boy in late 2013, and I don't believe he came with one. I just checked his box opening photos to be sure, since generally I'll at least have a CoA showing up in them if I received it, and I can't see one in any of them.

    10. The girl I got last year came with a CoA^^ It's a small card.

    11. @Epona oh my, I'm so sorry! I slept and did not got on DoA for a while D: But anyways, congrats on getting her!!
I have had my normal skin girl since 2013 (Coco), and a rosy white tiny since 2015 (Merry), and they both are stored on their box and only outside when I'm playing with them. The normal skin has turned lighter but not yellow at all... it is like she is getting less pink, more fair skin, to be honest. The Rosy white appears to be tending to be come something more white and less pink; once again, no yellow hint at all.
Regarding CoA's, all their dolls have them. My 3 dolls from Withdoll came with their little cards (2013, 2014, 2015).

@vermont chick I'd suggest low dome for any doll, as they tend to sit better on the eyewell. But alas, those eyes are hard to find, and may not be to everyone's tastes.

    12. In regards to CoA, I believe my fullset Luna I got in 2014 came with one.
Here's an old pic since I haven't posted her in awhile.

    13. @LuckyXIII she is gorgeous! I loved that release and sculpt so much!

    14. Great looking Luna, @LuckyXIII - I wish WithDoll would re-release her.

    15. My Withdoll Pumpkin / DC K-12 boy had his first outing today - I went to a meet up (Ichabod's first, my third!)

One fella took a lovely picture of him and posted it in our local facebook group.
I'm not sure what his DoA (If he has one) is, but I've asked and will edit this to tag him if he does - but in the meantime I just want to show off my handsome boy. :aheartbea

    16. I love him!

    17. I'm just dropping in with a photo of Crescent! Her eyes always look a bit off, but it's difficult to position them well because her eyewells are so curvy. Do any of you have that same problem?

    18. She's lovely! For the eyes, I have a similar problem with a lot of dolls' eyewells. You can try a different putty or a different amount of it. IN the case of the shot above, I'd try turning them a smidge toward each other. They really don't look too bad.

    19. I have a question for owners of the JWD male body. Is it 45cm with a head or without? Also, I was looking at the resin color pictures and normal appears to be more of a pinkish tone then yellow tone, is that the case in person?

    20. It's 45cm with head. It's always hard to tell resin color from photos. My most recent WithDoll is about a year old and her color now is more yellow than pink. She's pinker inside the headcap. My dolls are displayed in a room that gets the most light in late afternoon, so where you keep your dolls may make a difference in rate of yellowing/fading.
