Your Emma's are so beautiful!! I love the striking red eyes on Yuki, they particularly look great against her grey wig, and the freckles on your white Emma are so perfect. I'm a sucker for girls with freckles :3

Long time no see! I've had the busiest winter but I hope to have more time for my dolls from now on. (Also, nice to see sun again. I hate winters in Finland! It's impossible to take good photos.)

@Alaia, your girls are gorgeous! I hope to see more of them. I soooo feel you about the eye size problem. I need smaller eyes for my Lili too - I'd love to have Enchanted Doll eyes for her, those are gorgeous, but 12 mm has too large iris and 10 mm leave a gap. She's wearing Makos now, their iris is a little bit smaller than average 12 mm.

@Musume, Coco is lovely as always. I need to check this Garo Doll and their eyes too, thanks for the tip!

Here's Lili with his sometimes-on-sometimes-off-it's-so-dramatic-and-angsty-and-destined love, Aaron. Lili's gotten a new face up since her last appearance, and a new wig too, I think.

Your girl's eyes look really nice, and the size difference between her and her partner is lovely! Is that their normal height difference or are you "cheating" a bit? Like taller boots on him or something? I keep joking to my partner when we get fussy about not enough height difference in certain couples that we can just put one of them on a little box or something as long as it is not a full body shot lol

 

Thank you! That's their normal height difference, I think Lili is 42 cm and Aaron 47 cm or something? I love it how they make taller 1/4 boys nowadays too, and even some girls.

 

I recently found my small stash of Franklin Mint doll clothing (after searching the house for it for over a year). I wasn't sure if anything would fit my girls, so I was pleasantly surprised to find they can wear most of it. Here are Emma and Priscilla in gowns belonging to my vinyl Princess Diana. Forgive the doll stands. I didn't trust the girls to balance on high heels without support. Priscilla is wearing Iplehouse JID heels.

Ohhhhh your Cathy is soooooo cute! And I am happy I was able to help someone with my head swap photos, I would be very interested in seeing your Mai girl when she comes in ^^ What skin tone will she be in?

 

@Alaia - The Franklin Mint seems to have abandoned collectible dolls--except for a few reproductions of antique dolls. The best place to find clothing for the character dolls (movie stars and historical figures) seems to be eBay. Amazon has a very small number of dolls and one or two outfits.

Here is a photo of my Ruby Elf wearing part of an outfit made for a Laurel Empress of the Elves doll. The doll looked very much like Arwen in Lord of the Rings. The entire outfit fits, except for the boots, but the tunic doesn't fasten over the pants, so Ruby is wearing leggings under it instead.

@Musume - Thanks! They're wearing the same wig but in different colors: Monique Gold Hope in light ash brown and in golden reddish blonde.

 

@Kalea-chan, your girl is lovely! I didn't actually much care for Cathy before, but she makes me very much reconsider my opinion. ^^ I love her face up, does she have freckles?

@Musume, I have to check out the video! And thank you. Yes, Aaron is Soulkid Titika in sandy brown (which isn't actually anywhere near brown, as you can see). And a little off-topic, I saw Andreja's review: the clothes were gorgeous, congrats!

@vicemage - Super congrats! The dragon looks amazing. Is it really large enough for Jace to ride? I don't see Jace's legs in the photo. I think I would pair it with a slightly smaller doll, like in the 30-35cm range, but then I like a big, imposing dragon. Can't wait to see it painted.

 

His legs are kicked back a bit, so it's not a massive Game of Thrones scale, but that's mostly due to it having fairly short legs (and tending to want to sit right now). It's the right size for a horse, just considerably shorter. (I need to work out a way to suede a few of the joints, too; I don't think hot glue is a good idea on 3D printed plastic, so it'll likely be moleskin or custom kips.)

In fairness, the creator didn't design it as a BJD companion, and hadn't actually even seen a BJD more than in passing before I talked to him at a convention last year and let him handle Jace and Ed (and, with his permission, tried them on one of the jumbo dragons he had on display at the time). So it being roughly horse-scale to my minis is more of a happy accident than anything planned! I'll definitely see how this guy scales with some of my other dolls, though, since I have a really nice range of sizes on hand here. (But it still belongs with Jace and the rest of his group.)

The default faceup is a little glittery. XD It's adorable. The wig is a Volks SDCute/YoSD size in pearl silver. Still need to replace the acrylics, but having trouble finding a pair of 12mms I like.

Yeah, it's not like big particles, but there's definitely some gold sheen to it.
