WITHdoll Mini Discussion Part 8

My elf Ruby is finally home! I can´t wait to make a faceup and some clothes for her. I love her skin color (real uv). It is just perfect! Here she is with my Emma. ^^

 

Congrats @Wheatear ! The color looks great! That's what I ordered, too. Still waiting for mine, probably because she's coming with face-up and the option parts. I can't wait to see your Ruby elf with face-up. I like the wig - is it a For My Doll?

Still waiting on the random week of super humidity to subside so my fiance can faceup my new Elf Emma head.

@Alaia, thank you! I can´t wait to get some time to make it for her! ^^ That super humidity sounds dull. Hope that weather gets better soon! And I am eager to see your elf Emma when the faceup ready!

 

I have a shipping number!!!! Nothing appears yet on EMS, but my Ruby Elf Hunter is finally complete and is either at the door waiting for pick up or at the post office waiting to be scanned. At this point I almost hope she doesn't arrive too quickly because I have a doll meet on Saturday. I hate being forced to make a choice between going to the meet or waiting for delivery.

 

Congrats! If she were delivered tomorrow, you could bring her with you to the meet and do an opening there. It's hard to wait, but I did an opening before at a meet and everyone always loves it.

 

Fun idea @LuckyXIII but there's little chance she'll arrive tomorrow--the number still doesn't appear on EMS. Hopefully they'll post some info tomorrow.

Updated to add that Ruby is on the move. Her plane is due to land in New York in less than an hour. Saturday delivery is a possibility. I suppose I could miss the first part of the meet-up...

 

I finally put a faceup on my Mai girl.

 

Elf Ruby has finally arrived. I was expecting her yesterday, completely forgetting that there is no mail delivery on Columbus Day. The mailman came late today, so I didn't get photos. Will do that tomorrow.

Did anyone else get the bow and arrows? I changed Ruby's hands so she could hold them, but no dice. She can only grab the thinnest part of the bow, near the top. No way can she shoot an arrow from that position! Also disappointed that I didn't get the quiver. Maybe that was considered part of the clothing? I would have preferred the quiver to the shoes, to be honest. Otherwise, she is perfect.

 

Did you pull the bow apart first and slide the hand into the middle part? It should fit in her hand just fine. And the quiver should've come with the option parts, so you should contact them about it (unless they've changed something). They forgot it with my set too.

 

Thanks, Yenna. I did take the bow apart and try to slide it into her hand. The trouble is I tried it in the wrong hand. As soon as I saw your comment I tried it with the other hand and it fits!

I also took another look at Ruby elf's sales page. They don't show the quiver with the option parts at the end, but they do mention it among the option parts, so I guess I will contact them. (I think the parts they show are the ones that come unpainted.)

Here is my Ruby, after trying on and rejecting at least 6 wigs (including the one from WithDoll) and 4 or 5 pairs of eyes. She's a girl who knows what she wants!

I'll need to take more photos once I get her bow and arrows painted.

 

I now have a shipping number for Dark Knight Priscilla, ordered two months after Ruby! Wow, they are really cranking them out. There is no movement on EMS yet--I suspect they entered the info into the system and the package is still waiting for pick up.

And I heard back from WithDoll on the missing quiver. They say it was their mistake and they will ship one as soon as possible. I take that to mean they have to make one first. At least I don't have to make one.

 

The last of my girls has arrived! I ordered Dark Knight Priscilla without costume or weapons, which I guess doesn't make her a Dark Knight, does it. Emma stole the cloak I made for her, so I'll be making her another one. And, Ruby's quiver arrived in the same box. I'll take more photos as soon as it stops raining. For now here is Priscilla. I've already changed out her eyes because these make her look like a deer in the headlights.

 

Thanks @Musume - I'll show the full-length dress on my blog tomorrow. It's a little short when paired with the resin pumps from WithDoll, but I just love the shoes so she's wearing them anyway. It's a good thing I got the shoes when I did, because they are now marked Sold Out!

I can't wait to see the new urethane eyes on your Coco. What color are they?

 

After I changed Priscilla's eyes I decided she needed a different wig, so here she is. The wig is Ginger by Monique Gold.


@Musume - The blog post is finally up. I waited most of the day for sunshine so I could finish taking photos. This is one of the new ones.

 

@vermont chick, congrats! She is pretty! Priscilla is one of my favorite sculpts.

I didn´t know either that the silver heels are sold out! Luckily I have one of those too. They are so pretty. ^^

@Musume, hope those eyes arrive soon! They sounds great! Can´t wait to see them on Coco.

I also bought new eyes for my Ruby. They are from Oscardoll and they arrived two days ago. I took a lot of photos of her but I haven´t move them out of my camera yet.

 

Thanks Wheatear! I'm hoping the silver heels are only out of stock and not sold out forever. Now that Emma has seen them, she wants a pair too!

I look forward to seeing photos of your Oscardoll eyes. I toyed with the idea of buying some of those for my Ruby, but the colors I liked best were sold out from each vendor I checked.

 

@Wheatear and @vermont chick I love Oscar eyes! All my girl have them, you can call me addicted! As soon as my Ruby is done with her faceup I'll post pics here!
