1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

WORST Doll Experience EVER

Apr 30, 2012

    1. ^Jeez, I hope you left the appropriate feedback for the person who jerked you around and never fulfilled their end of the deal! That's terrible.

    2. ^ Still building up the courage. I'm too nice for my own good sometimes.

    3. Oh no! Other members need to know about a transaction that went so sour! :( If you're not sure what to do, maybe ask for advice (without naming names?) in the Ask The Mods subforum. I'm sure they will be able to shed some light on the right course of action. There could be lots of other members having similar problems with the same seller, so also check for a thread about them in the Problem Transactions subforum. This kind of thing shouldn't happen on DOA!

    4. Sorry to hear that, MissAniThrope! I had thought is was 60 days within which to raise a Paypal claim, not 45...or is that limited only to eBay sales. Luckily I've only had issues with doll related items going missing and no whole dolls, that would be horrible, poor thing! Either way, it might be worth calling Paypal via phone if you haven't already rather that just relying on their online service. Their phone service staff are often very helpful and there might be something you can still do.

    5. Another thought is that the seller might send you a refund if it's brought to light in the Problem Transactions thread -- they may just take the chance to clear their name. (And boy, that qualifies as a problem transaction if I've ever heard one! Getting dicked around, no doll, no refund, and absolutely zip to show for it? Awful!)

    6. Part of me is just hoping that it's all just a huuuuuge misunderstanding (I'm looking at YOU, customs!) and that my doll will show up, and that the reasons/excuses I've been fed are legitimate, and everything's going to work out in the end. Another part of me just doesn't want to look like some negative, impatient, rude hag because there's still a chance the seller DID do everything right and I don't want to offend them. I can never be sure if someone's telling the truth or being honest.

TL;DR I don't want to be the bad guy, even though I have a feeling it'll end up happening anyway.

    7. you can always go to the problem transaction forum if you have an issue. just outline your side of the story clearly. This will prompt the seller to give all details relevant to the transaction. Nobody will think ill of you for starting such a thread, sometimes it's the prompt that gets action from a slow seller.
Australian customs will only get involved if the item is over $1000 Aus. Then there is paperwork and you need a customs agent (giant pain in the neck)

    8. My worst doll experience was right after I recieved my Latidoll cara. She was my first BJD

I was super happy and had all the materials to do a full body blushing. I wanted to spray her with the mr. super clear outside in the back of the house. We lived in a duplex apartment and the yard was more like a parking lot of sorts and everyone kept their trash cans right outside their doors for the trashmen to pick up.

I take apart my cara and lay all the pieces in a box on the back step and spray her with the mr. super clear. Afterwards I went upstairs to pack my belongings to get ready to head to my college classes. Next thing I know I hear the loud engine of the truck. My heart started pounding as I knew exactly what was happening! I raced down the stairs and flew out the back door and as I had suspected there was the garbage truck crushing my box of doll parts. I scream at the trashmen and jump into the back of the truck trying to pull out the box. It was impossible for the garbage men to realize that the box on my backstep full of what appeared to be broken doll parts next to the trash cans was not trash. They apologized profusely as they helped me pick up every last piece. I was able to retrieve all of them but she had severed fingers and a huge dent on her boob.

Completely disheartened and realizing that a good 300+ dollars instantly went down the drain. I threw my Cara into a clothing drawer and never pulled her out again, leaving the hobby right after I joined it.

I am now awaiting my second doll. A dollfie dream, hopefully this wont end so tragically.

    9. wow... you know you could have sued the garbage man right? Even if it was a mistake, he owed you that money so you could replace the damaged pieces. That is just horrible! I think people are idiots... I mean if I was a garbage man and saw that by the back door and it wasnt in the trash can, then I wouldnt have touched it. It doesnt matter if it was in the area where the garbage goes, you dont take stuff to put in the trash if it's not on, in, or right next to the garbage cans! Especially if the garbage isnt over flowing.

    10. Not as bad as it could have been, but recently two of my friends and I posed our dolls on some nice steps in an old alley to take a group picture. Unfortunately, just when we had walked down a few steps to take the picture, one of the dolls in the back suddenly lost balance... And created a dominoes-effect. Stone steps. Falling dolls. Definitely a heart-attack moment.
Only one of my dolls was damaged, a tiny scratch on her nose. The doll who started it all chipped her face-up. Amazingly, the others were all fine. The owner felt so sorry about what happened that she commissioned the repair of the face-up from me and paid very well :P

    11. The worst was which my dog peed on Charles X.X

I had to clean his clothes after the attack. :<

    12. Oh my god! That's so sad :(

    13. I surely have had my share of bad experiences, some of which I cannot still wrap my head around to this day, including when my Dahlia fell off the antique hobby horse she had been sitting on for weeks and broke two finger off, but nothing compares to the fact that I had two dolls stolen from me on the street in NYC. One was returned, but the other gone forever.
The worst led to the best though, my friends arranged for Volks to do an FCS (we were at Dolpa) to replace her the very next day. It broke my heart to lose her, but totally gave me the best gift ever, of friendship.

    14. LOL!! I did exactly that today! None of the right tools and lots of finger pains.

    15. They say a picture speaks a thousand words:

The post office smashed the hell out of a box that contained a littlefee. :(

    16. omg x.x You'd think if the box said fragile they would be careful with it! But NO!.... my mom works for the USPS and she says they throw stuff, put heavy things on top of nonheavy things, etc. What scared her and I the most is that people send LIVE animals through the mail too! She had to deliver chickens last year and half of one of the shipments died because of the temperature outside x.x I cant remember if they were too hot or too cold.

Was the little fee broken? That is the WORST package I think I've seen on here :/

    17. I am not sure if I already posted but here it goes. I had a girl contact me about my doll I had for sale. We made an agreement for a layaway. She told me she would pay me an amount of around $70-80 ( I forget the exact amount) and said she would pay by X day. She missed the day but then finally paid. She paid from two different accounts because she was literally giving me every penny she had, according to her. Then everything seemed fine. I didn't hear anything from her then two days before her final payment was due she pm'd me to say her grandmother died and she was not going to finish the layaway. Needless to say I was annoyed. I had removed the doll from sale already. She stated in her pm she would understand if I didn't want to refund her deposit. I promptly went to check my for sale thread to make sure I had written that I would not refund a deposit, but I didn't I had forgotten. I told her normally I do not refund deposits but because I forgot to write it in my for sale thread I had not choice but to refund her $$. I told her I was on my way to work but soon as I got home I'd refund the two payments. When I got home I found several distraught, threatening pms stating if I did not refund her money right away she would contact paypal to file a claim. I responded by saying I was going to refund her the funds like I already said, but I was at work with no computer access. So I refund her and I contact the mods because now I am upset and angry. I get clearance to leave negative feedback. I leave the feedback and she freaks out. She responds calling me names and being really rude. I tell her I did not say anything rude or negative just the facts. She does not care. She proceeds to continue buying and selling and asking people to leave her positive feedback. Then her true colors show. She sells the same doll to two different people, lies about what had happened to the doll. She then claims the face up artist damaged the doll. I know the face up artist personally we speak and she is very upset and states this never happened and she had already sent the doll back without any damage. The artist is very upset because she feels her reputation is ruined by this false story. So the result is she sold the doll twice and kept the funds of one. She did eventually send the doll to the other buyer. She has now been banned from DoA. I have since found out she had defrauded more than one person. And the kicker is she tried to friend me on Facebook. WTH So bizarre! So that is my worst experience, although I feel worse for the people she scammed. I did try and help those scammed by providing her info but I don't think they ever received their funds back. Mods I only posted this story because she is banned but if this is not okay to share I will happily delete it.

    18. Mine is happening right now. I had a doll for sale here, and several other places including another doll forum. I had an extensive trade list, and was offered one of the dolls on that list as a trade on the other doll forum. She had good feedback for trades, and I knew who she had gotten the doll from, so I wasn't too worried. Her communication was good....up until I sent the doll to her. I never heard from her again. She's not been back to that forum, and I seem to be out a doll.

The thing is, I'm also afraid something might have happened to her. The doll wasn't delivered, a notice was left, and according to tracking, it's still not been picked up. Tracking could be wrong however....it often doesn't update. But....for it to still be there from Saturday, and no word at all from the other person....

I'm sort of at a loss atm, just sitting around waiting for something to happen. This is the first trade I've been involved in to go so wrong and I don't know what else to do but hope it's eventually sent back to me!

    19. That does seem to be very odd, especially since she did not pick the doll up. I would, if you have not already contact the Postal Office and see what can be done. I have to also say, I have not had a lot of problems on DoA for the most part everyone I have bought from or sold to has been great.

    20. This is why I try to remember to add a piece of paper with my home phone number and other information that would be helpful just in case something happened to me while a doll was out for a faceup. That way if I disappear, the other person has a way to contact my house. Maybe I should add a friend's number too!
