It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. WORST Doll Experience EVER

Apr 30, 2012

    1. Hmm this is not my worst doll experience but when I was searching the internet I'd found a website who was making copies of bjd's. They had so much but it was really weird..

    2. So we all remember the con girl of my stories who keeps trying to buy my dolls off me or plain out grab them and walk away, right?

      Well I have more!!!!!!

This past Kollision Con on Saturday evening I went with two of my friends and my new Luts limited MSD. No faceup yet but I had to show her off.

We settle down at a table in the lobby and all the sudden my friend, who had been with me the past two times, taps me and says, "Watch out. Her she comes."
Sure enough, her she comes, spots us immediately, and reaches for Ruine. I immediately snatch her away and hold her protectively. She asks if she can hold her and its clear she doesn't recognize me. I explain, no, she's new, I'm a little protective-bs just to make this girl go away. Then the temper tantrum hit. She immediately announces, "What do you think I'm going to do? Steal it!"
I stayed quiet and she turns to my friend who is holding her MSD boy and tells her, "If your doll wasn't so ugly I'd buy it off you."
      I. Snapped.
I informed her that she had tried to take multiple dolls from me in the past and for fuck's sake, THEY AREN'T FOR SALE!
She starts whining-whining!- like a five year old to her friends that it isn't fair that we're flaunting our dolls and rubbing them in her face when we won't even give her one to have or carry around for the con.
We walked away mid-rant. I'm sure there will be more. This little.........*insert word not suitable for mixed company*........seems determined to haunt my con experiences.
      :|

    3. Did you tell security about her? It sounds like something that she could actually get herself banned from certain conventions for. That's straight up harassment.

    4. I would be better off avoiding her. Kollision Con security is.......beyond subpar. I did tell them at the other two cons and actually had her banned from coming near me in artist alley where I was selling at one. Kollision Con security merely stares at you as though you're speaking Elvish.

    5. I swear Bei's seem to be indestructable. Mine's taken so many dives that I'm shocked she still hasn't lost a finger yet...Her face up isn't even scratched.

Roguegirl - O__O;;; Yikes. If I'm ever at Kollision Con the same time as you are...I'll help guard against the nutjob if I see 'er coming....Trust me she wouldn't get away with just ranting and whining. I wouldn't have qualms calling her out as a thief in the making.

    6. I guess my worst expirance with bjds has been that they where badly packed and the moment i open the box, their sting broke. I was a noob ( i am still kind of am but i was more nooby back then) and had no idea what to do. I looked for tutorials and bought the materials for restringing, but it seemed like it would take for ever for everything to get here so i could finally enjoy my first doll.

And other bad expirance that i had bjd related was that time they broke into my house. Sadly i dont posses high value items ( apart from my dolls ) but people that does not know a thing about the hobby do not know the value of them. They broke true the window that was right above my dolls and tip over and destroyed most of them. Aparently since they could not find anything of value they destroyed my dolls and my other figures ( and collections - books and nendoroids and what not ). Sadly it seems some of the dolls capture their attention ( probably they tought they where toys and wanted to take them to their kids, or simply knew they had some value and they stole some of them u.u.

I am still getting my collections back together, but i dont wish anyone to go throught what i did ...

    7. Nothing really bad has happened to me so far because I'm quite new to the hobby but I got really freaked out inside my head last night. I brought my first boy, Seth, to show my aunt and cousin. The first thing I tell them is don't touch his face and the first thing my aunt does is put her hand on the side of his face. I told her how much his makeup costs and she moved her hand away immediately. I checked his face, fortunately his face up was fine.

    8. Jennky I'm so sorry that happened to you, that sounds so scary :(

I don't know why I came in here, nothing really bad has happened with my dolls, but I don't do much with them... Worst is my sister seems really judgmental about them, like "why do you spend so much money on them, you can't even DO anything with them," type of stuff. I've tried to explain how they're an artistic medium for me, I enjoy making things for them and photographing them, but "they're such a time and money investment to not do anything" she doesn't get it. Oh well, I like them, I want more, and I'll get more :P

    9. I have yet to post anything in here... but I did remember I had a bit of a bad experience when my Rosette Fir came home.... XD

See... I ordered her as a Christmas kit in January of this year. She came home in February and I had her shipped to my Gran's because I'm in college and never home to meet the mailman. So I'm sitting there opening her up and everything is going smoothly.... then... I tried to string her. I was at my Gran's for over an hour and I COULD NOT get her put together. I came home later that day and sat in my living room for like another hour or so [I cant remember exactly XD] and finally got her together... only then I realized I'd forgotten to check the length of the elastic and shorten it x.x So she was really floppy :/ Her faceplate also went flying at one point and landed next to the metal bottom of the foot stool to the chair in the living room too... I was so scared her nose was dented D: Luckily she was completely fine.

I decided to tighten the strings a bit so she could stand but she's a 47cm MSD and has a tiny neck hole... so her knot was in her chest. I made the executive decision NOT to unstring her and just try and undo the knot and tighten her that way.... it was a pain, but I was able to tighten it some... but then I realized the tension in her arms and legs were off x.x So I took her apart AGAIN and tried to fix her arms.... only to realize that string was messed up too so I just played around with it for a bit to kind of fix it.... the tension is still off to this day.... lol

Then about a month? later I decided to go to my dad's and spend some time with him and my grandma because I hadnt been there since before I went to Colorado to volunteer with flood recovery on Spring Break with people from college. I took Lilith along with me and some of my sewing stuff because I thought I would be working on her outfit while I was there. Well.... she had other plans of course. So I'm sitting there on the couch and getting frustrated cuz her strings are STILL messed up.... so again I make the executive decision to try to fix them..... So I take her chest/arms/head off so I can just undo the knot for her legs and tighten it and trim the length a bit... The rest of her body is sitting next to me on the couch on top of a blanket thing. Her legs had been shifting a bit so I readjusted them so they wouldnt slide off and come unstrung..... only about a minute later one of her legs slowly comes unstrung and then everything just goes tumbling off the elastic onto the floor x.x If that wasnt enough, I dropped her head back on the floor while I was there too and almost lost her s hooks and foot at one point. After like an hour and a half sitting there with her in pieces she is FINALLY together! Her tension is still off somewhat and I think she could use a little hot glue sueding to help with holding poses but yeah... she went from floppy to kicky in one leg too x.x

This girl doesnt even have a faceup yet and already has an attitude problem! But she's a bit sour from being "killed" at the age of 17 when her "sorta bf" James "rescued" her from an orphanage by turning her into a vampire. lol

    10. My worst experience ever would be breaking my doll's hands. They were an extra pair, so at least I still had a good pair. I went to mod both hands into the 'flipping the bird' position. The first one was really easy since it was already *almost* straight. I just had to bend the other fingers down. As for the other hand, it was more bent so I had to straighten the finger out and bend the others down. I actually got it to where I wanted it to be but I wanted to straighten it out even more. I pulled up the finger up-ward and it snapped. I literally freaked out on the spot.

    11. I think my worst experience was ruining my doll's head. I was like 12 when I got a Bobobie apollo and did a faceup on it that was so atrocious that I tried to SAND IT OFF and from that day forward pastels would never sit right again.
I was possibly the dumbest person on earth oh my gosh what even was I when I was 12 I certainly should've never been let touch a doll until my mind developed to something larger than a pea.

    12. O.o... did you not use sealant or something? Or did you use sealant but not know anything about how to remove it? That is dreadful, but at least you learned from your mistake! We all do silly things when we're growing up so dont let it get you down :)

    13. The Raven is right, Raguna. Don't be too hard on yourself! There's a reason that expensive dolls, like BJDs, are generally said to be for adult collectors, but it's not the end of the world! Most people do silly and illogical things at 12 years old, as we're still very much figuring out the world at that age. :)

    14. Aww, you guys are so nice. Yeah, when you're 12, it seems like you THINK you know what you're doing but you really don't and you end up screwing things up :sweat I definitely didn't belong in the hobby back then but it's a good thing I learned what not to do back then. Since then he's been fixed and stuff. It's definitely not as horrible as some other things I've heard on this thread, oof, I feel so bad reading about some things. Especially some of the stories about dolls being completely ruined, it makes me want to buy them a new doll :o

    15. I had a cute Corolle doll when I was a little girl, and I decided her lips weren't dark enough so I took a red marker and... yeah. No matter how much I tried to wash it after, there is still the (irregular!!!) marking all over her face. So yeah I feel you xD, but I like to think we weren't dumb... just kids! hehe.

    16. My worst experience so far has been the company Momocolor not sending my doll. No word, doll or refund from them. I'm still fairly new to the dolly-world, and that doll was going to be my birthday gift from my fiance, and my 4th doll (1st yosd). So instead of a nice doll for my birthday, I get to bug a company for 6+ months. It's been stressful, and I'm pretty sure I'll never see the doll or money. I wish it didn't, but it does dampen the hobby a little for me. How can I ever feel safe ordering from any company now, knowing they could just disappear? And I do feel guilty when I spend on dolls/doll stuff, so it's been extra hard (both emotionally and financially) to basically throw the money away...

    17. MasahtiJade - Did you threaten to start a dispute with Paypal or your credit card company if they don't send out your doll? I heard that works if the company acts like this.

    18. Arashi- Yup. But PayPal refused to acknowledge the claim because it'd been over 45 days (even though their site says international clams have 180 days), and as we know, dolls usually take more than 45 days to produce. Momocolor stopped responding back in January, even to threats of international investigation or begging/pleading to send out orders. There are a number of us in the same boat actually... But I don't wanna clog up this thread with the info. It's all in the, Momocolor waiting room and discussion pages. Or pm me.

    19. I'll PM you.

    20. My worst experience was when I took my DZ Morphoa outside for the first time. There was about two feet of snow and I wanted to take some pictures. I stood her up and took a few closeups and then decided I wanted to take some from farther away. I asked my sister to stand close enough to catch her but far enough to not be in the shot. I had just focused my camera perfectly when she started to fall. My sister couldn't catch her in time.

We went inside immediately and I cleaned her up and took off her clothes to dry. Aside from a bit of dirt, she was perfectly fine. My sister claims she actually flipped on the way down but she escaped without a scratch. We didn't do anymore snow shoots after that.
