1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. WORST Doll Experience EVER

Apr 30, 2012

    1. My worst experience was literally 2 seconds of absolute fear when, on the day I got my at-the-time grail doll, Crobidoll Nia, he took a nose dive off the dining room table and directly onto the hardwood floor. Thankfully, he was absolutely fine--no damage whatsoever, besides the little icon inside his headcap breaking off--despite my immediate freakout. Veery tame in comparison to some of the crazy things on here!

    2. I think I'm going through mine now. :(

I recently ordered something from the Spiritdoll site, nearly $200 and I went to check on my item's status, and the site's down! :o I know I didn't type the address in wrong, I kept the tab for it open. The website seems to be completely gone. Spiritdoll, what happened?

I'm going to see if I can find an email from them so I can contact them and maybe get my money back if nothing else.

    3. Im waiting for a doll head wich I traded with someone for my Fer. but after 5 weeks I still dont have it. She send me proof that she send it so Im so scared it got lost in the mail. and Im still waiting for a doll for 2 weeks in a country nearby. now Im afraid they both got lost.
this is horrible and I always was confident about not sending insured because it never went wrong, and now I am wrong.

    4. Having a split organizer disappear on you and your split partners, then finding that she's telling her friends that you are being unreasonable, when she's had your money for a year and there's no sign she even ordered the doll. And having her lash out at you for trying to contact her through her mother because that's the only way to get her to reply at all.

Also my heart skipped a beat today when I realized my Yuki split shipped a few days ago, and actually had a failed delivery notice because it's supposed to arrive at mom's house, and mom didn't answer the door. Hopefully she'll be there tomorrow :o

    5. I used to bring my first doll, a DoC U, to high school with me everyday. He just helped me deal with the stresses of school, and I loved telling people who asked all about him. One time, I had him sticking out of my purse, and my boyfriend (at the time) and I went to get lunch at a fast food place... After we left, my boyfriend turned to me and told me not to bring my doll in public anymore, because some kids in the restaurant apparently said they'd smash it if they ever saw it again. I'm not entirely sure that actually happened, or if he was just embarrassed to be seen with me and my doll, because while he never directly disapproved of my dolls, he didn't like them either. Whenever I asked him to hold one, he'd hold it like it was this disgusting, diseased thing... It always bothered me : (

I've had quite a few bad experiences with buying/selling dolls too.
My first tiny was a Soom Hati. My friend and I did a group order, he bought a Skoll. We where pretty much the last people to get our dolls, because they got sent to the wrong end of the country and lost... Soom replaced them for free, luckily, but it was still a frightening experience. I get paranoid whenever the tracking says one of the eastern provinces...

When I purchased one of my mini girls on MP, I finished paying and the seller told me she had shipped the item and gave me a tracking code. The code did not update for an entire month. Through out the transaction, I PMed the seller asking if she had shipped it, and if she could ask the post office about why it wasn't moving and she never did... It finally started moving a week before the deadline to start a paypal claim, and when it still hadn't arrived with a few days to go, I was sure I was being scammed and opened a claim. The seller freaked out, and told me if the doll didn't arrive the next day, she needed me to close the claim because she needed the money. The doll arrived a few days later, in a crunched box. I opened it with my friend, in case I needed a witness, and was horrified when I opened the box... the doll was curled up inside the pillows, no bubble wrap, no face protector, dirty, with cracks on her wrists the seller neglected to mention, her wig messy and stuck in her neck joint, and missing the eyes that where supposed to be included in the sale... I told the seller, and she gave me the option of having the eyes mailed to me or a refund, and before I could reply, sent me $10 on paypal... it was just a disaster over all...

    6. I am not a part of that split...but I read through that entire problem thread and was really disgusted at the whole situation...I feel for you and her other victims!

    7. I haven't had any issues yet, but reading this thread is making me rather nervous.

    8. My worst experience was selling my first doll. I got a shipping estimate and gave it to the buyer, only to show up to the post and have them double the shipping cost. It was $400 to ship that doll and I had to eat the cost because it wasn't fair to the buyer and it was an emergency sale.
I hope to NEVER EVER sell a doll again.

    9. Oh I saw that in the problem transactions thread Layn, I feel so sorry for all of you in those splits with her, when I read the thread I was so annoyed and I'm not even involved.
What a complete and total B***h that chick has been to you all!

    10. This thread is horrifying! I'm so sorry you guys went through that.

The only thing I can add is after finally receiving a beautiful JID Jerome through the MP, on my second day of owning him, I snapped the little resin hook that kept one of his feet attached! I had just finished restringing him, and I guess that I had made him too tight. On top of that, I had to hide him in a drawer so my mother wouldn't throw him out since I bought him without her knowing.

I still need to fix his foot :(

    11. Try super glue or apoxie

    12. How the heck and where the heck were you shipping that doll????? I've never heard of a $400 shipping cost before, that's nuts! I gotta say, I would have not eaten that cost. Next time I'd suggest going back and talking to the buyer about it, maybe have the people at the post office print you off a receipt for what it would cost if you did ship it, just so they know that you're serious.

    13. I was shipping it to London. I got a $200 estimate and then they weighed her and decided no, she was going to be $400 to ship because they wanted to put a Fragile sticker on her box. It was her original box with just some extras like a set of clothes and a wig, nothing made her abnormally heavy. I think they were asking for more than that for the Fragile sticker, actually(I guess so lazy post people don't throw my box down the stairs???) because I ended up only being able to afford Breakable(less care?). It was honestly the biggest mess and I wasn't expecting that. I was literally in tears in the parking lot.
It was an emergency sale to buy a ticket since I had to leave my home. The buyer was a nice person I'd chatted to beforehand and I didn't want to back out of a sale. It wasn't her fault that the post screwed me, and I had no time to argue with the post. I told her what happened and that I didn't expect her to pay more than the agreed upon price, she was relieved since she couldn't pay more than the amount she had saved for. She absolutely loved that doll and I didn't want it to go to anyone else if I had to sell it. In order to even make the sale, I cut off my cellphone for a month to eat the cost just so I could leave. Would I do it again? Heck no. I'd argue with every last breath because I think that was highway robbery. No ideal situation here. I have those old PMs in my inbox and to this day it still burns me to read that shipping cost. :|

    14. Hoooly cow! Well, desperate times call for desperate measures, I guess @__@ I am like...100% certain that whoever you were shipping with ripped you off, though. I've shipped dolls all over the world and I've never paid anything like that! Here's to hoping it never happens to you again, though!
What company charged you that much, if you don't mind my asking? Good to know so that maybe other members can learn from your experience and avoid them like the plague!

    15. Actually...US shipping to ANYWHERE ELSE in the world is insanely expensive nowadays. I had a few rifle lighters shipped to me using normal airmail and it cost $60. All of them and that box couldn't have weighed more than an Iplehouse EID, which incidentally was only $40 by EMS.

    16. I ship stuff to my family and friends back in the UK quite often, sometimes with regular airmail and sometimes with insured, tracked and slightly faster priority airmail and i'm always surprised how expensive it is. However, it's never been that much! I've sent softball equipment, and other heavy items but it's never cost more than about $120. The staff at my local post office are no help at all though, so I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to rip me off!

    17. Forever the worst experience is being involved in the great hiritai kerfluffle of 2012 - ad infinitem (aka: paying for a doll and having her run off with my money).

    18. I believe my worst experience would have to be terrible communication with a member here after I had finished paying off the doll. Once I finally did get the doll, I couldn't bond with it. I think I tried for nearly a year and finally just had to let her go. It was sad :(. Also having that same member contacting me saying the money she refunded me she needed back now... Just stressful as all heck and I didn't buy another doll for a long while after that.

Second thing was trading a doll with another member here. The doll she sent got to me in like a week or two, whereas mine nearly took two months to her. It some how ended up going by sea... Anyways, we were certain it had gotten lost and we started the process of filing, but since no insurance was asked for it, we'd never get the full amount for the body. Just a very stressful time, again.

Last one was getting a doll in a trade who was not in the best condition. She was packaged poorly, her finger has broken off I'm transit and the owner used super glue on her! When I contact her about all this she just gave me excuses and didn't offer to senta partial refund for the broken part. Just blah!

    19. I hope you didn't give her back the refunded money. No matter WHAT if she refunded you, that is your money and you are under NO obligation to basically lend her money.

    20. UPS. :sweat To be fair, this has NEVER happened before. I've sold doll heads and I've mailed non-BJD heavy things like a winter coat before with never high prices like this. I honestly don't know what happened that time, but I thought I'd post this story and hope it helps someone. My best guess was because when I asked them to "Please be careful with my package." they decided to treat it like I was shipping a piano or something. I just didn't want them to throw the package like it was garbage because even with all her bubble wrap, she could still break! I've seen postmen toss my packages on my porch like throwing a bag of potatoes. A tough lesson learned.
I would NEVER sell a doll with an estimated shipping cost anymore. I would demand to get the actual cost in writing so I could dispute it before I even put the doll up for sale.
