1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

WORST Doll Experience EVER

Apr 30, 2012

    1. There's italian bjd forum, not sure if it's still active now. I had successfully hosted a few group orders in other forums so I decided to have one there too.
The order went on perfectly fine, I even shared the gifts with them. One of them was being particularly annoying bringing up excuses for not paying me the shipping, I had to send it out anyway in the end...
Then one of the moderators took the liberty to phone me at home, how she managed to find my number I have no idea she didn't even know my real name, saying I was taking too much to ship. I don't know why she acted that way, she wasn't in the order so I guess someone complained. I was a little busy so it was like one week maybe two at most before I finished to ship it all out, I don't think it was that bad to actually complain about it...

But the worst was when I actually had all of it shipped out, some of them I actually handed out in person, they all acted nice with me during the order (besides that one) but they all left me NEGATIVE feedback! Like, WTH?
I even got suspended, I'm not sure I would have wanted to stay there anyway. The sad thing is I only did it to gain their trust in the first place.

    2. O.o.... WTH? Like... did they all go behind your back and discuss it before hand or what? That is just a little bit CRAZY.... like.... wow... to me it sounds like you did everything right... even the shipping time didnt seem like it was that big of a deal. I mean... people do have lives... you cant just package everything the day it arrives and hurry up and go throw it in the mail before the end of the day x.x

    3. I don't know, I'm not even sure I want to know. I moved on and I just don't want to hear from them ever again.
Unfortunately one of them lives just down the street, luckly I never told him exactly where I live... I secretly hope he moved out in the meantime and never saw me passing by.

That wasn't my first group order and it wasn't the last either, besides one person dropping out and another writing me cause I was being late (but she was right, I wasn't feeling well back then and she apologized later) I never had any problems with them.
I also always had generally pleasant transactions on here, a few times other users snatched a doll I wanted from the MP but that's normal. XD
I'm so glad most people are reasonable on here.

In the end the only thing that experience made me realize was I really didn't wanted to be there. You know that feeling when you try to fit in but you can almost see the wall they have around them that doesn't let you through? I tried so hard because I was new in the hobby, I didn't know about DoA and my english wasn't very good either...

    4. That is an awefull experience ninvie. It sounded like they wanted you gone.
even if I have a disaggreement with another meber here, we do try to calm down and work things out.

Though....there was this one member I sold some clothing to, they where blaming me for the late shipping and demanded a refund, they even went to paypal and made a dispute over a 2$ difference.
Then even after I had given it to them they still gave me neg feedback.
THey are no longer active, I think that they where banned for having multiple accounts and scamming people. but I'm still stuck with that Neg.

    5. I know all too well that feeling of being shunned from a group of people... I'm kind of an odd ball and I have a pretty hard time getting along with certain people because it always feels like they are judging me or think I'm weird. Getting into this hobby has made me feel a bit better since I know I have people to talk to about my dolls and other interests and a place where I dont have to feel shunned... but I've heard a few stories now about people doing things like this in the hobby and I just dont understand it... I mean... it is okay to have differences etc... but acting like that? It is a little pathetic on their part... :|

    6. i bought a doll from other country and other market but the seller was answering slow and unclear. i was busy on that day either so i just kinda ignore that time, but after i think about it he was very lazy seller and even gave me the tracking number very lately. i dont want to have that experiment again and dont want to be like that.

    7. I suddenly remembered that when I ordered my first doll and her head was coming (my X2 Elizabeth) I had a dream of her face with blood red lips and a huge crack in the middle of her face.
That scared me thinking it could actually happen, but I was almost disappointed when I got her and she didn't have any flaw, I liked that look and I painted her just like she was in my dream.
Minus the crack of course XD that could have made an interesting backstory

I read all the posts on here and I wish I had known about hot water for fixing noses. When my doll fell I sanded the nose, I thought it was the only way. It still has a cute nose, I think I shaped it well, I just need to get it blushed because there's a little color difference.
I got most of my dolls second-hand and didn't have major issues (I think the worst was my minifee that had an hand magnet pop out, but I just glued it back on), even the first and only time (for now) that I bought directly from a company I got a really good service. They didn't have an english website but it was easy to order by email, they were very helpful and quick. I guess I was quite lucky :)

    8. Worst experience ever? I went in on an order with someone I knew through another fandom, she needed just a bit more to bump up high enough to get something free, I don't even remember what it was anymore. Because this was in
2013. I've wanted a Pukifee for some time, so I asked her to put one on for me. She took my money and didn't place the order for a month, but her feedback for plushies mentioned she was reliable but slow. When it arrived, I asked her to take it out of the box to see if it was damaged. She did, and sent me some pictures. But you may remember the winter of 2014 was brutal, and she never did quite make it to the mailbox with it.

After several weeks of her stringing me along, she finally told me that she had lost it somewhere in her house, she had no idea where it was, and she suspected her dog ate it. She was going to place an order for a replacement as soon as she got the money, and she did send me a screenshot of the order last spring. So one was coming, along with several other dolls for herself, or maybe some other people went in with her, I didn't ask.

Soon after that, my daughter had a medical emergency, and I didn't have time to keep up with the Internet. The doll never arrived, and everyone told me it was a lost cause. I was unwilling to a.) write off so much money and b.) give up on the doll. I really like Fairyland's Ante, okay? I'm building an army.

My daughter is 100% fine, and when I returned to the Internet, she popped up talking about giant robots like nothing had happened. After a series of subtle hints, she admitted that she still had the doll and she was totally going to send it out. Then she disappeared for a week.

After a week, after waiting over a year for this doll to show up, I emailed her and asked her directly when this box was going to come. She claimed she had been having some health issues and couldn't make it to the post office. Well, along with Transformers, we had originally bonded over sharing that very same issue. I frequently have a hard time getting to the post office with a box of any size, especially in the winter. But I have bought and sold several dolls, because my husband goes to the post office for me. Now, I knew she and her mother were very close, and I asked her why her mother couldn't take it to the post office for her?

The very next day she emailed me a tracking number.

Now, there is eight inches of snow outside my house, so the post office is holding it and my husband is picking it up on his way to work in the morning. But fingers crossed, it's perfectly safe inside.

TL:DR: participated in split, dog ate my doll, other person strung me along for over a year.

    9. The feeling of panic I am having right now is insane.
      Only y'all can understand.
      I am FREAKING out!!
I have 2 heads that have been sent to my previous address 1800 miles away!
To make it worse...my forwarding address request have expired.
I've already stopped in my current post office and called my previous post office. Both have been kinda and willing to help in any way they can.
Just waiting for the tracking number so the previous post office can stop it from being delivered...
If it all works out...it's gonna be another 1.5 months before I get these heads back.
I'm just so sad right now...

    10. My worst experience was probably trying to buy my first doll. I ordered him May 2013 through a dealer expecting a 4 month delay. 6 months later i asked where he was and was told that the group order had come in but my doll was missing. 10 months after my order I was told my doll was missing from the batch AGAIN. I ended up getting a refund.
I was so bummed out that I stopped following the hobby for a while but in the end I came crawling back and bought a doll second hand. I didnt want to deal with waiting for several months again. I suppose it wasnt that bad an experience but it was a frustrating one. I'm still determined to buy a Dollzone Hal one day, theyre really cute.

    11. Since I am a newbie, so far I have the only downer in the hobby, it is related to doll faceups. I live quite a vacant life, so I thought I'd try my hand at making faceups for dolls, that would be fun I thought. So I got a couple of cute blanc doll heads, and then pastels, acrylics, sealant, retarder and what not, a complete set of art supplies I had read abt on the boards plus a set of cosmetic brushes, then, when i got all the stuff, I commenced doing a faceup for my rosen boyhead right off. Ofc the first one turned out plain ugly, and the second one was nowhere better. I cleaned both my doll heads the other day, and carried on painting them. Despite that I was wearing a face protection and rubber gloves every time, and i was sealing the heads in the bathroom with the air conditioneir turned on max, it just happened after I had sprayed MSC on the head the second time in a row, i reached the room and felt nausea then just collapsed.
Since that day, I can not make myself use MSC. Jst can not handle the sight and smell of it any more. I feel so frustrated. Idk what do I do now with the doll heads and so many supplies. Still wish I could try again, lol. Sadly I got a ruined health, it's been like that for some years.

    12. I think I've posted here before but I just did something really stupid. I placed my doll on the floor and I thought he was balanced very well. He didn't budge for a long time. I then backed up and sat down away from him with the camera and he decided to tip over face first. He ended up breaking his pinky finger and how I have to fix it somehow.

    13. Well, I guess it's about time I shared this story properly.
So, almost exactly one year ago I had discovered BJDs and had sold SO MUCH on ebay to save money to buy a doll. I wanted an in-stock doll because I had spent so long saving and I really wanted to see what resin was like. I spent ages looking (ofc) and found my perfect doll, a Dollzone June, who was a Limited Edition, BUT in-stock in a local dealer. I was over the moon. She had no face-up, so I asked for the dealer to arrange it (noob etc.). In the mean time I had a little scrap book of June pics etc I had found and all these plans I had for her, the clothes I would make/buy, wigs etc.
The dealer went away and I went away over the holidays, so I only got her on the day I was going back to school (trainee teacher at the time). Anyway, I didn't have anytime really to look at her. She stayed in her box until the next half term, when I took her out and got to have a real look and get used to not being worried playing with her. Then I noticed she wasn't double jointed. I had spent SO long looking for the right body etc and I thought 'she's sent me the wrong body!' Then, as I was investigating the body issue, I thought, well her head never looked how I expected... and realised she was completely the wrong doll. A DZ Tulip rather than June. They have completely different looks! Now I would notice IMMEDIATELY if I received the wrong doll, but then I was very inexperienced I guess. The dealer hadn't been able to find her papers either.. so then I knew why! Then had a loooong weekend waiting for a reply, completely stressing about spending ~£300 for something and getting a completely WRONG item! I couldn't honestly believe it. I remember that evening, spending hours overlaying pictures of June over my own pictures etc. I couldn't beleive that when spending this kind of money such an amateur mistake could be made!
ANYWAY, it was the end of my paypal cover so I just filed a dispute and the dealer got in contact and I sent her back. It makes me sad because I don't think that Tulip has ever been sold again (I kept my eye out, because... she was my first doll!).

I would still love a June, just because I was so in love of the idea of her, I wonder if she'd ever live up to that expectation now.
Anyway, Tl;dr my first doll I ordered was the wrong doll so had to send her back...

Maybe not as terrible as broken dolls etc. but still very upsetting for me!

    14. My worst experience is being told how to enjoy a hobby, I am not your typical doll collector, first off I prefer girl dolls to boy dolls, I like having the company face-up on the doll. I have three kids and do not have the time or honestly the desire to learn to do the face ups myself. Nor do I want to trust a stranger with an item that cost me a third of my rent for the month on the chance that something awful could happen. I do not like a lot of the tan dolls, this does not mean I do not like dark skin I just have not found a tan skinned doll that jumped at me (and trust me I have looked my daughter loves princess and the frog and I would love to make a tiana doll for her when she is older).

I also hate when you take a break from the hobby (had a kid, father passed away... You know life) you come back a year or so later and all the dolls you were putting off because the companies always sold them suddenly do exist anymore! Curse you fairyland and luts...

Also I hate the fact that my husbands hobby (Lego) cost the same as my dolls but I get pushed to the back burner because my one doll is the same a 1000 piece set.. What ever. It's more pieces... But it's still one thing!

    15. Spent hours reading this thread before I realized I had something to contribute. Nothing nearly as bad as what some of you guys have gone through, though!

A month or so after I got my Soom Cheshire, I decided to glue in all of his magnets. So I had all these magnets and parts sitting around on a small table, and one by one I was super-gluing them in. While I was working on the headcap for the surprise head, one of the magnets got sucked out and stuck to the other one (already in its socket with glue). These magnets are powerful, so it hit with some pretty significant force, enough to squish the glue out of the magnet hole. That glue shot straight up... and into my eye.

If you've never had super glue in your eye before, I don't recommend it. Thankfully, several chemistry classes have taught me what to do and there was no damage to my eye (or the doll; he's all magneted now). Still, it was a pretty awful experience, and I'm overly wary when gluing in magnets these days (I even put on safety goggles).

Another, less painful experience was having my grail doll's head shipped in from France... and seeing that the shipping box had been completely smashed! The doll was fine inside, but I had a mini heart attack for sure.

    16. would have to be when my first bjds head go tossed off my garden table by the wind when I sealed her face up she had a hip on her nose and brow and scuffs on her ears
I have hit myself in the face and chipped my dolls forehead in the process but that's not nearly as bad :)

    17. I posted in this thread before, but since that problem was resolved (got the doll), I thought I'd post again! WORST so far.... It would have to be ordering a tan Dollzone yosd, and learning a month before receiving the doll that the company has changed their tan to environmental resin (at least give me a choice on if I want that or not!), and it's now basically orange-tan! :doh And thought I'd give that doll a face-up before trying to sell it, but the winter kicked in, so now I've had her 6 months! So I'm sure I'll be taking a loss.

    18. I'm not going to name the company here but I am in the middle of one severely annoying experience. It's not nearly as bad as the ones I've read here and will be resolved but it still bothers me.

I purchased two pairs of shoes for one of my dolls one and a half weeks ago for a rather large amount of money (close to 130$). When checking out I selected the correct shipping method, was careful to select the correct shipping zone. I double checked everything before submitting the order. After submitting the order I used the company's PayPal link to pay which automatically charges what you owe for the order. I paid, everything was fine.

I got my order confirmation with the same amount as I paid listed as the total cost.

The day after paying I got my shipping notice with a tracking number. All appeared to be fine. However I did start to wonder yesterday since EMS usually arrive within a week. So I checked the tracking number on our post. Nothing. Okay that's not strange if the package hasn't reached my country yet I thought. I checked the tracking on the post from the country the package was sent. Nothing. The tracking number does not exist. Now that is not normal...

So I sign in to my account on the stores site to see if the tracking works through that site. And at that point I notice something strange. The total amount for the shoes including shipping is no longer the same as when I ordered them. And at the very bottom of the order sheet there is this teeny tiny text telling me "money owed: X$".

So I write on the Q&A and ask very politely and calmly what has happened since I am confused and is beginning to suspect that no package has been sent at all and that the tracking number isn't real. I get a reply today along the lines that the package is not sent because I purchased items for X$ and only paid X$ and that X$ is lacking.

This annoys me severely! I don't mind paying my own shipping and don't expect a company to cover it either. But I DO mind when a company gives me a total, I pay for it, the company then sends a shipping notice with a tracking number, doesn't ship the package but instead changes the shipping cost without telling me that they have done this. I have checked all spam folders and such and there is nothing from the company telling me about the issue. So for over a week the company have known about their website miscalculating shipping but doesn't even bother to inform me that the order I think is on it's way (since a shipping notice was sent) is in fact still held at the company awaiting a payment there is no way for me to know they expect since no one bothered to inform me about this change/issue.

I don't like to complain and am a very patient person when it comes to things going wrong, delays, adjustments in shipping and such... but this is not cool at all.

    19. So sorry this happened to you, MSC is no joke! I seal all my doll stuff in an outdoor shed with a full on respirator. Once, I went out a little while after I had finished a layer of MSC to check on my doll, and I thought I saw a speck of debris on the faceup. In a mild panic, I leaned in to check. Apparently the MSC fumes had either not dispersed from the area, or the layer had not completely set, and I got a big whiff of the terrible stuff. I felt fine at first, but later i started to get a dry hacking cough and a migraine soon followed. I had to lie down for a while, feeling pretty terrible. MSC is evil!

    20. The worst thing has probably been when I sold a doll and, in transit, the label somehow got ripped off the box and it ended up in some dead letter office states away. I made a post asking what I should do here and a member posted a possible e-mail I could contact about the issue. So I sent the e-mail describing everything in the package down to the last detail along with my number. Not long after, I got a call from a private number and somehow knew I should pick it up. It wasn't the guy I e-mailed, but my e-mail had been forwarded to someone who was able to help me. I was able to tell him where to send it and my buyer soon had the doll. We were both really relieved and I was happy I was in a transaction with someone understanding of the whole situation. I now use tape very generously and really make sure the label is secure on any boxes I send out. :P
