worst part of the sculpt?

I love mischief's face. EXCEPT when you tilt his head all the way back. then he looks like some creepy wide eyed terrified alien!

Still having the same problems with Jay Say, but that's moot, really, it's just how the body works. I've just gotten used to it. My biggest problem with her is the lack of mobility joints in the legs. Getting her to sit up is a test in patience.

Lirael, and by proxy, Mistoph (Fairyland LittleFees) - I adore these two, I really do. But if they aren't strung exactly, then they turn into floppy little jerks. And restringing them is a nightmare. Three strings. Three seperate tensions. One little body.

Rat (K-doll Karon/Domuya Flexi-body)- My biggest problem with him is that his legs refuse to stay forwards. If I want to stand him anywhere, I have to run my fingers up his legs to make sure his knees are forward. Infuriating.. Also, I could complain about his floppiness, but it's just patience with him it really is.

Galdara - Soom Glot- Oh, how I love her horns.... Oh, how I hate that even with sueding, her head turns into "Miss looks down alot" because of the sheer weight of the horns. I need to get her a kips, maybe that will do it.

Aprielle (BuddyDoll April/Customhouse oldstyle body) - I desperately need to wire and suede this girl. She can't do anything but sit prettily and flop. XD The fact that she doesn't have s-hooks in her hands and feet drive me nuts too. Also, her face has the deepest eyewells I have ever seen. Part of me adores them, because it adds to the otherworldliness of her face, which is what I was going for, but deep wells means overshadowed eyes.... XD

I do love them all, though. Truly.

 

Bluefairy's girl bodies

The girl body is ok, it's a childish body. But the blossom is too much (and I don't want to imagine the full blossom). There should be something in the middle of normal and blossom .____.

 

Can't remember specific names, but the noses on some sculpts are just huge (or maybe I'm too used to seeing the smaller nosed sculpts..). Also, what bothers me the most are the fact that some jaw lines are so steep, looking like the dolls had their throats slit in profile view T_T. (This is what turned me off from Crobidoll's sculpts, though I do love the front view of Lance's face XD.)
Also, agreeing with those who mentioned Souldoll's knees, or any other company with similar jointing.

 

On my Crobidoll Marisol, it's the lines under her eyes. Sometimes they're subtle and almost not there, other times they're annoyingly noticeable. She's a strange sculpt anyway, but I think that probably annoys me most about her. My Bambicrony Emily, I think the part I dislike about her the most are her ears. The folds inside of the ear are exaggerated too much and stick further out of the ear than normal even for doll standards I think.

 

Uhh, first the B&G type 2 body doesn't have double jointed elbows so it's pain to pose sometimes. My JDF 2 event head love everything about him except the stupid black dots around on the corners of his mouth, and his nose it pratically a perfect triangle from the side, oh and his ears are huge. Uh, for my Yeon-ho, I have scratched off some of the MSC under his chin and rubbed it off on the tip of his nose, which is annoying, but nothing I can't fix once I finally buy a can of that stuff, besides that nothing else...

 

My Ceylon is a Souldoll Soulkid Liddell - I absolutely ADORE her face.... but as I was doing faceups on my friend's boys I realized that...... SHE HAS NO LIPS. They're so flat!! Now it really bugs me so I'm gonna mod her lips a little bigger (cut in a little and use expoxy to pull out.) But it wasn't something I really noticed until I actually took a good look at other doll lips!.

 

lol. I think with all my boys their ears annoy me, mostly because they all seem to stick out. It doesn't really matter though, because they all have wigs that cover their ears. haha.

 

My kid delf has funky knee and elbows. X_X His elbow is very poseable, but kinda freaky looking. And the knee can only bend 90 degrees like sitting in a chair, but anything farther like kneeling down looks aweful. You can see inside his leg!

And my Delf body. MY GOD what is with his waist joint???? There is ZERO posablility in that joint, other than making him lean back like nobody's business. XD The kneeling thing is the same with him too, only he can't sit back nearly as far as the kid delf. Tarrant (who's a Super Delf on the Delf body) also has MASSIVE thighs, which makes making pants for him a pain. And the elbow joint can only move so far. Meaning a lot of posing isn't possible unless I have wire in his arms and bend them back, which then looks really weird.

 

Not to be crude or anything but... I think my Kid Delf has a large butt... compared to my other doll, lol >> hard to get pants that are only a teeny bit tight over it... and I think his fingers and toes are quite chubby and a little large, proportional-wise... but I think it's kinda cute, in the long run. I agree with Mari-Kitty about the elbows, too. XD
Also have to agree with kobatastic about the Blue Fairy's hole-wrists. o_o I find the wrist joint is pretty wonky altogether..

 

I don't like DoC bodies at all. They look awkward and unatural, IMO.
I really like the general shape and aesthetic of KDF bodies, but I agree, their elbows look pretty bad, despite the nice poseability. The elbows also look like they have a fairly basic range of motion. Like someone else mentioned in this thread, it'd be really nice to have arms that folded in front of the torso, if only a little bit.
I'm not too fond of DZ mini hands, either.

And, I have nothing against the EID male bodies, I think they're gorgeous, but they must be a PAIN to find clothes for because they're so differently proportioned.
I'm sure we'll all agree, a BJD body that could move in all the same ways as a human would be heaven. Unfortunately, they're made of solid materials and there's only so much they can do with that and their stringing system.

 

Oh my, thank you SO MUCH for makking this thread. I can finally vent. IN SOME doll companies, usually in the MSD's but Ive seen it in SD's etc. before as well... the FRIGGEN NECKS. FUU. What I mean to say, is I hate it when the top of the neck and the head dont quite sit right together, so you get a bizarre bump on one side of the neck unless you have your dolls head in JUST THE EXACT right position. Also thick necks, or obscenely long necks.
The worst companies for the 'stupid bump' are Volks and Luts, in my opinion. And Volks also has particularly thick necks.
Just irritates the hell out of me when I see a stunning doll, Im just about to fall madly in love, and then I see it from a different angle and that neck lump just completely turns me off.

 

I don't really like my doll's knees. Sure, they allow for better posing, but the joint just looks weird to me. The color doesn't seem to match with the rest of his leg either, which annoys me. Good thing he mostly wears pants.

 

I adore every one of my Iplehouse men, but I hate every one of their wrists. Would that we could find real men about whom the wrists are the worst problem.

 

I love everything about my Souldoll Double Sleeping Ize except his butt. It's far, far too bubbly. Normally it hasn't given me trouble, and the only time I ever noticed it's roundness is when I first got him and just inspected the crap out of him (as I had never really held or examined a BJD up close on my own). However these last few days has been a ass-filled nightmare, cause I never seemed to have his can wrapped in gauze for more than five minutes. The instant he moved, it all slid off the curve of his butt. Good thing I don't need to wrap him in gauze ever... = n =

 

Doll Feet.

I don't know what it is. I just can't stand looking at them lol. They're just so flat and...basic...and...there.

Maybe this just ties back to my real life hate for human feet

Rasputin, Iplehouse Aaron: Awkward size head is awkward. Not quite an 8 or a 9, it makes buying wigs for him damn near impossible.

Sara, Volks Lin: Is being too cute a flaw? That said, I don't like all the resin between her fingers. They need separating but I haven't had the time as of late.

Anri, Volks DD2: Volks's default plastic peg and spring to hold on the heads is weak and very easy to damage if not careful [as I learned with User]

Ienzo, Luts SDF Howl: Kicky and won't stand on his own.
