worst part of the sculpt?

Please, no one be offended by my peeves!
One thing bugs me a little about my RS Long: His insanely huge butt. It grows exponentially when he sits. I don't know what I'm doing wrong or if it's perfectly natural but it's so weird on such a slender doll. Once I get him to stand properly, huge butt isn't nearly as huge, but it's still big. It's round and pokes out. It might have something to do with how I dress him, but I still remember distinctly saying "...what a big butt." to my flatmate when unpacking him the first time.
Oh and another teeny thing that bothers me...how non-descript his boy bits are. Half the time it doesn't really register to me at all that he's naked when I'm messing around with making pants or dressing him and so on because...he's so non-descript and simplified somehow. I know, it's a really weird peeve and I wonder sometimes if I could sand it a little in a few spots just to make it a little more penis-like.
Those are the only things that kinda bug me. The rest of his 'faults' I'm all good with lol
As for other dolls...I don't like non-double jointed knees. I really don't like looking down their hollow legs when they kneel, so I usually do my best not to stare. I prefer crazy square knee joints that look really strange and unnatural unclothed than to see single-jointed knees pop out. It just freaks me out a little. Same with elbows, and since my doll is singly jointed in the elbows I can't bring myself to bend his arms to the point of popping out unless clothed.
Beach-ball fake boobs bother me as well, I much prefer breasts that are sculpted with soft curves than the harsh sudden roundness of the more implant-seeming breast sculpts. It's something I don't like on humans as well, so that's probably where this preference came from. I fully understand that others might really like this look, and good for them

 

so very true....my neve can't keep her pants on! lol,theres always a gap in her pants, & she can't were any low waisted jeans or skirts.

 

I love my little Allura (Everpurple Ryun), don't get me wrong, but I HATE the length of her thighs! They're just a little too short and it makes it very hard to pose her sitting! >.< It's so crazy.

 

lol i have a couple things about my dolls i dont like

DZ shoyo: her insane smile, and nose....im going to try sanding it soon. i want her to have a new faceup too. i have to at least redo those lips.

B&G Ymir: his poor non-posing body. ive got him sueded and wired and the poor thing still wont sit. stands like a rock right out of the box tho

Volks: same as the B&G. wont do anything but sit and stand.

B&G Sapphira: i love this doll completely, but for the abs of steal. and the only reason i dont like them is because they go totally against his sweet. girly character. no way should that boy have those abs. theyre getting sanded too.

DM Kara Klum: my least favorite was also something i loved but again was so out of character it didnt work anymore. dollmore boys have very fleshy looking lower torsos, and a slight potbelly it never bothered me, until i had the doll so perfectly matched with the character except for that. so i sanded it off. now he's perfect and there is nothing on him i dont love.

BBB Sunny Boy: it doesnt bother me at all with my bigger boys, but the penis on my tini freaks me out...i kind of wish id bought a girl. he stays clothed all the time now.

 

Hmm... Let's see...

My Little Leroi- His eyewells. Oh lordie. They're so badly done. Since he was my first doll, it took me a while to figure out what was wrong with his eyes. His lovely Soom eyes sit too far back, and you can see INSIDE the eyewell, no matter how hard I try to push them forwards. The only way I can get it to work, is to give him a deer in the headlights look O__O which I can't stand. *sighs* I'd love to get an eye beveler, but it'll have to wait. (I've tried looking everywhere locally to find something that will do the same job, but no dice.)
Also... his hands. They're alien, badly sculpted hands. The thumb is in the wrong place, and the fingers don't seem to be bent in the correct spots (Like maybe he's missing a joint in his fingers). Again, I'd love to get him some new hands, but finding resin matches is next to impossible.
And the other thing that bugs me is how far forwards his head sits on his neck. He has next to no chin. I'll have to look into seeing if there's a way I can fix that too.

My A-Line Shushu: Hmm... uhh... I honestly can't think of anything I don't like. XD She's perfect.

 

The old Elfdoll Rainys' hands. They've always bothered me as they were so simplistic, not expressive at all. Even though many folks don't like the new body, I love it & the fabulous hands are a big part of the reason.

 

oh man, all the butt complaints are cracking me up. ...no pun intended. xD! and someone said "cankles" & i nearly fell off the couch.

i don't have mine yet, but i'm already nervous about the big dod ears. and i haven't seen much of a naked dot boy, but it doesn't look like he's packing much down there, & pardon me for being a pervert, but i find that a little disappointing. i like boys to look like boys. and i hate, hate, hate, how hard it is to find shoes for this boy. i've become a parrot, annoying people in the marketplace with my constant "inside measurements, aawk aawk". that said, i still think the dot bodies are some of the most gorgeous i've seen.

but i'm kinda bothered by all the square-jointed pictures i see. i know it makes for wonderful poseability, but it looks so odd. (i'm not meaning to insult someone else's doll, as i'm sure i'll end up owning one of these someday, so consider it a pre-emptive strike.)

i think i'm just going to have to get comfortable with sanding & re-sculpting, because there's probably always going to be something i don't like about a body. like the minimee body problems i'll have to try & fix.

 

Oh the Delf body on my older T1 El. So pretty, and with a rather nice butt if I do say so myself...though on the other hand he is all sorts of prone to doing the Bambi thing and just sort of crumpling when attempting to stand, despite sueding him. In particular his ankles are sort of...wobbly, bend really easily. Great for when he's sitting or kneeling, a total pain when trying to make a character who doesn't like shoes stand up, sueding or no sueding.

 

I own 4 AOD dolls, and although they all came with super annoying faults that I thought I would always hate, (for example, Yu's huge pointy nose, Wang Zi's totally flat forehead) I've come to love most of these "faults"!!!
However I can't stop hating turn on my girls right legs (they both turn in) and the hands on my new boy body are shaped like some kind of crab claw! what reason could you possibly have to hold your hands like that?

(I picked him up this morning and someone has broken his hand and the fingers are nowhere to be seen... I'm secretly happy because I have an excuse to replace them. )

 

My KDF is on the way and I noticed that too. It didn't stop me from getting her though. ^^; I think the knees are similar too? The elbow, supposedly, allows for greater pose ability but at a cost of being unaesthetic. I don't mind it so much so long as she's in long sleeves or her arms aren't bent when her arms are exposed. I adore everything else about her and I don't think another body would compare, even with it's defects.

 

I unoas but I can't stand there hands O.O and my bobobie girls bodies have all sucked imo so far T.T makes me sad. I also really dislike that they dont have s-hooks =[

 

I have a thing about my DZ lotus's ears, and her gianormous feet.

But I love her.

I'm so not very fond of the neck peg and spring system in Volks' Dollfie Dream bodies. The internal spring can be bent or stretched and ruins the poseability of the head - in fact, this is the very problem I'm having with mine, as her wig is so long and heavy it pulls her head all over the damn place! Thankfully I have a replacement of sort from Y!Japan coming my way.

 

I hate my BBB Sprite's hands. They're really lovely and delicate but they just can't do anything really. They look so awkward and unnatural when she's posed holding something.

My DZ Yuu and Wing have the most ugliest feet too, their little toes bend inwards. It looks so painful!

And then there's my SD Killian. Everything about him is pretty much perfect, (although the double joints do look better clothed but I love the posability), except for his boy parts. They look like an afterthought really and it's bent under him, which makes putting trousers on him easier I suppose but it looks very wrong when he's unclothed. My friend pointed out that it looks like an arrowhead haha!

Interesting thread! I love my CP Lu-Wen to bits - the only thing I wish he had though was a split torso... poor guy looks like he has a stick taped to his back, it's always so straight! But I love him...

He also sorta hates standing - he doesn't mind once I actually get him there, but its a bit of a task... I suppose that'll get better when (must gather the courage) to restring and hot-glue suede him...

 

Definately my Super Gem's (Soom Topaz) elbows! I really should hot glue suede her... right now I'm too cowardly. XD She is a bit top-heavy so she flops forward so much. Aine doesn't like standing much... it's prolly me not posing her well enough.

Still... meh.
