Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Would/do your male dolls wear eyelashes?

Jan 7, 2011

    1. I don't have a male doll yet but it would depend on the sculpt.
I want to get a male doll eventually and when I do I plan to have him have eyelashes.
It wouldn't be really thick eyelashes like I want my girl dolls to have but he'd still have them for the realism. :3

    2. I think I'd definitely give a male doll eyelashes, since when I draw I always seem to define the lashes (especially lower lashes for some reason :0 ) regardless of gender, and I kind of prefer dolls with lashes, even more so if they're coloured (something other than just black lashes) though that's probably because I really love natural-looking face-ups with lashes that match the hair colour :)

    3. some of my dolls have eyelashes and some don't - it's not a case of them being male or female though - sometimes I just prefer the look of them with no eyelashes :)

    4. I only have one male doll with upper eyelashes, and he's a IH KID Lonnie with a company face-up. I like them on him because it makes him look young and sweet. However, I do prefer my larger male dolls not to have eyelashes, because I find it makes them look to feminine. So, unless I'm going for a feminine boy, my boys don't have upper eyelashes.

    6. I prefer for my dolls to have eyelashes. I'd pick a more realistic-looking pair for my boy, though.

    7. they do and i love them,...after all....real people all have eyelashes xD

    8. I don't have male dolls yet, but if I'll buy it, it will wear eyelashes. Dolls without them look terrible. But no less terrible look boys with girl's make-up with very long eyelashes.

    9. Yes. But I have two with half closed eyes so they don't wear them. Otherwise I'd never see their eyes.

    10. All my male dolls have eyelashes. I wouldn't give them anything over 5mm because that doesn't look normal.

    11. I myself always have lashes with my boys. doesnt seem right without them. i do trim them down depending on looks. not because of mascularity

    12. Yes, for the most part, my male dolls do have eyelashes. I have one who does not, and that's my Pharaoh, because I think it would distract from his eyeliner. The rest do. I paint bottom lashes on my boys, and leaving off top lashes would look as incomplete as leaving off eyebrows or blushing to me. I buy short doll lashes in natural colors, so it's not extravagant. Using human lashes would look entirely too fake for my characters, but blond or brown very short 1/3 scale lashes looks good to me. I also feel like having lashes makes the eyes look more naturally focused. It's hard to explain, but I think a lot of dolls without lashes tend to look surprised or scared, and that's a look I just really don't care for.

    13. Men do have eyelashes so why shouldn't male dolls? I like all my dolls to have a realistic lash length actually. I don't like super long lashes really on any doll....

    14. Actually, most of my dolls don't have false eyelashes (male or female). I feel that most of them aren't in scale.

    15. Some of my guys have them, others don't... It just depends on the individual sculpt and their faceup. Some look good with the upper lashes. Some would look ridiculous with them.

    16. All my dolls have painted eyelashes, all humans have eyelashes so it would be weird not having them.
But only my main young girl has false eyelashes, just because they are trimmed to be of a natural length.

    17. My male bjds wear eyelashes. I love the white and blond ones XD

    18. All my boys have attached eyelashes. And the ones that didn't... Well I recently taught myself to successfully apply them!

As with everything it's ultimately down to personal taste... and I just like how they look with them.

    19. I'm too lazy to do eyelashes! Neither boys or girls get them usually!

    20. I bought a head second hand, he had a custom face up with lashes attached. I don't really have an opinion on his lashes so I haven't taken them off or anything. I personally don't care about lashes on any doll whatsoever. And I probably won't have another doll, male or female or whatever, with lashes unless it's bought second hand and already had them attached
