Would you buy a Felitaur?

Feb 27, 2010

    1. I love cat-like things, so yes, I'd be interested in SEEING such a thing. Whether I'd be interested in buying one would depend *entirely* on how good the sculpt was and how usable it was (as in, can it be posed well and easily, can parts be exchanged for human bits, etc.) After all, what's Avatar but cat-like faces on long skinny humanoid bodies?

Where I get hung up with the fantasy bits for dolls is that some companies are obviously just sculpting hooves and/or other bits to go on their regular bodies, that don't necessarily "flow" with the rest of the design. That really bothers me because it's so blatant. Make fantasy dolls that look as though some real thought went into the design and I'm definitely interested.

    2. I'd think they'd be interesting to look at, but they're not for me personally. I enjoy all the cool fantasy dolls! ^.^

    3. I second the DnD name Wemics, and i for one would love to see what someone could do with a felitaur, i'm a centaur junkie, but then again I'd love to see just about any mythological creature, or other creature, or anything for that matter be dollie-fied.

    4. I actually really wouldn't mind owning one, I always like stories about centaurs and such. I even looked up the doll you were thinking of and thought "cool." I think with your queston, it depends. I'd of course have to see the doll before buying it, but I dont think its wrong for a company to make a cat version of a centaur, I actually really do think it would be cool to see but.. thats just my opinion.

    5. SQUEEEEE~ It may indeedy be worth seeing if they could make what I'm lookin for ^^ Thanks for the awesome linkage ^^
And yes, it would all depend on the humanity of the over-all project.

angelynx-prime: Teehehe Werecat - Not my thing either, but i cant get a cutesy image out of my head now <3

aernath: The greek version would be fantastic ^^

Manda_Chan: Oh yes, some heads i think look fantastic, i refuse (for now) to get any floating heads, but in the future i might end up getting some provided i can get matching bodies soon enough.

Baakay: If i manage to get a custom made and they think it's popular enough to make as a general sculpt etc - then i will send pictures ^^ (might be a year or so off though! ^^')

      masala_chai_tea: fair enough ^^

Kitkaze: Awesome ^^ - and the main thing for a felitaur for me personally would be to interact with my centaur ^^ though on his own it would mean something almost as posable as ordinary dollfies, and personally i would love to see a join in the middle of the lion torso to make a more flexible pose set- but that might not look all that nice though xD

Demmini: Oh of course it would depend entirely on how it would look ^^ I chose a vague question so people will be able to say yay AND/or nay ^^

    6. Hrm...I'd love to have a centaur, but a felitaur? I'm not so sure. I guess it depends on what the face looks like!

One thing I'd LOVE to see (and own!!) would be a naga sculpt...do they even exist? If not, why not?? XD

    7. They have mermaids here So a Naga wouldnt be that hard to pull off ^^

And interchangable heads on a felitaur might be a good bet ^^

    8. would I buy one? no...well maybe if it was tiny and cute

am I making one? yes...I wanted a feline friend to go with my sphinx....

    9. Awesomeness - would you send pictures to me when you complete him/her? ^^ I would love to see what you make ^^

    10. Oooo a Naga would be awesome.

    11. Yes, a Felitaur !!! : any sort of anthro is great ! -I personally would love to see an MSD or SD line of CAT-HEADED-PEOPLE (or a series of ancient Egyptian Gods maybe ?). I think it's great that a 'normal' doll can be quickly, easily and reversibly be transformed into a mythical creature.

    12. Yeah, it would depend. I like fantasy sculpts, but a felitaur isn't high on my list. If it's amazing, though, I wouldn't count it out!

There are more and more companies making unique dolls, so who knows? Perhaps some designer out there will come out with some really cool fantasy BJDs like a felitaur or other quadraped or... sky's the limit!

    13. Egytian gods- SIGN ME UP FOR ANUBIS!!! OxO and yus- i would probably have Bast/Bastet too- only female doll i would own for a while methinks haha

April: Oh gosh, indeed, i mean years ago people would have pined for centaur's and poof there is one on the market by the time i start seriously engaging with BJD's xD

MareofNight: Wouldn't it just be! xD Though storing one would be a pain- but not a pain if they were damn flexible haha
Im tempted to look into the naga sitch since i do have a lovable snakey/mer character that provided the tail end mods to have fins or not im sorted ^^
[awesome quote from Robin hood- Men in Tights too!]

    14. I love mythical creatures, and if it wasn't for the fact that I would probably have to sell a kidney to be able to afford such a doll... then I would so buy one *_*
Also has alot to do with it's execution, the way it looks etc. But there's alot of things you could do with such a doll.

    15. Felitaurs? Wemics? No thanks. I like my fantasy dolls to be bipedal. Not that crazy about the centaurs either. Chiron's horse body looks emaciated to me.

    16. Hmmm... he does look a little skinny- his big hindquarters almost make up for that. I took a critical look at him and though I do agree- i still think he is nice enough for me to still want- when it comes to me actually buying him i can make up my mind then ^^

Snow: - Thats the plan ^^ Transport will be a pain but other than that he would be posed so much i would need his body constantly repainted - xD (must learn airbrushing and seal him often! xD)

    17. I think it would be cool if the made one...Would I buy one....probably not. Chiron is absolutely beautiful by the way, even with out a face up. I would also like to see a dragon or a griffon....and maybe a jackal or just an Anubis doll because that would probably own my soul ^_^

    18. I would never buy a whole 4-legged felines lower body, but i'd love to see one! I love dolls with animal limbs and whatnot! I'd probably buy 2 cat pawed legs though, sounds cute~ c:
But i kinda wish there was a bit more than just hooves and soom for that matter, if you know what mean. Fantasy. Even general fantasy has huge plains that haven't been crossed yet in the bjd world. If only they'd get passed hooves XD
I have my lil hooved MSD doll and i kinda wish they had more to choose from, MSD sized dolls hardly get any fantasy. XD (I guess that's why i find it odd when people say there is too much fantasy! MSD sized dolls are lucky to have elf ears where they stand right now)
I'm dying for an MSD harpy right now x.o
But that's my own opinion, I suppose.
I also kinda wish there was more non-anthro full nice looking animal dolls like griffins or even leopards.

    19. Retrobox: Leopards would be cool or a panther. And If it makes you feel better a friend of mine has a doll with bird feet...though I can't remember where she got him from. If you were curious I could ask.

    20. balljointed wolves, foxes, cows, horses c: Animals deserve jointed versions of themselves too ;o;
and jointed animals would make good pets c:
I think souldoll is the only company that has full animal dolls right now, but..the joints are a bit too iffy for me xD
      Are you sure those aren't Soom bird feet? XD I think soom has the only harpies u.u;
