Would you buy a Felitaur?

Feb 27, 2010

    1. I've got a spider-inspired doll myself, Xuchilpaba! I made her a few years ago. She has six arms, so eight limbs total.

    2. I wouldn't buy one personally. My main story line is all human, and I'm trying to cut down on the number of dolls that fall outside of that group. There have been some neat fantasy type dolls released, but I have yet to see one that I really want to own -- they're just not really my thing. What I really love are the rather stylized looking human bjds that fall around 60cm -- I'll leave the really tall, animal parts, and super realistic dolls to the other folks.

    3. I like and admire them, but I wouldn't buy one myself just because the body size is so large I don't know where I'd put it. I barely have space for the two 70cm boys I have in my modest collection. Besides, my characters are all human or human-shaped.

A felitaur would have to have just the right sort of jointing, too, as cats are very graceful (at least generally... in appearance... I have several live cats and they can be quite clutzy!) The body would also have to be super flexible, especially in the spine, to be able to pose like a feline and in a hard resin form it might not look that good.

    4. I don't think I'd go for the Wemic. Hrm.... Could possibly make some small dolls though. Maybe kitten centaur sorts. All chubby and cute.

There is an interesting list of centauroid creatures over on the wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centauroid_creature

    5. That is a fantastic point to take into consideration... It may have to end up being not all that photogenic xD

Robotika- Having it as a kitten would be such a cute overload >x<

    6. IMHO, I would really be interested. I would love to have a doll with feline legs and a human torso and face. I suppose you could try and commission a mod for something like this. Maybe, start out with the fawn legs(like from resinsoul) and mod the hooves into paws? XD I'm really bad at explaining things, but I could imagine it like that.

    7. No, I would not buy one for myself. I know a guy who might be intrigued by them but even then I think he'd prefer the anthro dolls.

    8. Gosh the replies keep coming in xD

The best thing to do would make it a project for 2012 xD
Resin Doll - I do understand what you mean, but i would be willing to go whole hog first... and if not liking the 'taur bottom would trade away for a set of human legs in a heartbeat. xD

    9. I would like to see it if only because I had a character in one of my stories who was part human, part panther, part bat.

It was a curse, obviously. Don't get any perverted ideas. XD

    10. I would personally be more interested in a fawn-like shape because I think it would be difficult to make a felitaur body that was actually pretty. I really don't like the shape of the Chiron bodies and as picky as I am it would be hard to please me. I love the idea of little paws though.~ So cute... Then, if you wanted to make a dog-taur (whatever that'd be called) it would be really easy to modify it. XD

    11. No, because I have zero interest in anthro/mythological beast dolls. If it's not human, I don't want it. xD

    12. Personally, I love the fantasy-anthro parts. ^^ I'm always open to checking it out. I am big on quality and sculpt though, so that would be a huge factor. I've seen Souldoll's Chiron, and I find his centaur form to be a little off for me to be interested in him. A sphinx-like body, or a felitaur - as you call it, might be interesting, but the bottom line would be sculpt and how well the company pulled it off. Personally, I'm waiting for a snake/naga torso from Soom. I'd just die. . .

    13. Um no because im deadly afraid of spiders ahhhhh phobia ^hides

    14. Oooh, yeah, it would have to be like the Dollshe DSAM35 body. :D That would be AWESOME. I might be interested if the joints were done well enough. I've never been all that interested in felitaurs, but in doll form they could potentially be really awesome.
Chiron is such a disappointment.. they had that great, complicated body to work with and he doesn't even have knee joints. ;_; Why does nobody like JOINTS?

    15. I would be if it was made well and a reasonable size to be able to carry around cause I'd want people to see it

    16. It depends, I plan to have a sphinx someday, but i will probly have to make it myself for the body to look the way i want

    17. Never heard of one. But I would imagine they would get some odd looks. Me personally I wouldn't buy one. I'm not a big fan of anthros

    18. I'd love to see one, I don't think I'd buy one though (simply because I have no felitaur characters XD) But I do love souldoll's chiron and want him one day. But yes, is anyone ever gets a felitaur doll (company made or modded) I'd love to see pics ^^

    19. I'd love to see more animal dolls that are not BB size or smaller (As cute as they are <3 )
I love anthros and have a few anthro characters so would look to see more dolls that are not intrierly human.

    20. Felitaur? Possibly! It really depends on whether the combination is mesmerizing or kind of silly. (As in, when I think of cat-centaur I think ridiculous images of a human torso emerging from crouching kitty hind legs... lol). But I'm intrigued when doll companies achieve kind of a perfect combination of the two. So, what would sell me on a cat-person would be mostly human features accented by very subtle, but very obviously-feline features. Slight body, or cat-like leg sculpting, ears emerging just right from the head, and an angular face that's not exactly human, but not at all snout-like. That would just blow my mind.

Though what I'm really waiting for is another bird-lady. I want that kind of combo for a big bird lady. Or even an insect. Praying mantis!!
