Would you buy multiple sizes of your favorite mold?

Apr 12, 2014

    1. I was juuuuuuust about to say no to this but then I looked at my Only Doll Han Bi standing next to my monitor and completely changed my mind. I would LOVE to have an SD of his sculpt. Heck, I'd buy four of them for no reason other than loving the sculpt so much!
Great topic! Food for thought! :)

    2. Yes, I would. *Glances at the multiple Shiwoos* And I have. I do have a large and small version of one character - I've got a mini-Rowan who is a Minifee Shiwoo, and big-Rowan is a Delf Shiwoo. The other Shiwoos are all different characters, as are the two Els.

Seriously every time I see a Shiwoo I don't have (Oooh, the Vampire MNF Version... hey, a Pukifee! Hey that one's TAN!) I'm tempted. I don't get ones I can't figure out a character for, though. All my current ones are different (Elf, regular, scarred, etc.) but I'd get a repeat if I had a good character in mind for it.

    3. Oh yes, those big versions are still available, but the Cian and Dion aren't. They were limited.

    4. Yes it does not ever end! I told myself I would only own MSDs...yeah, I managed to hold out for 4 years but finally caved, LOL!

IKR?!? When I see all the different options I want them all too :)
I couldn't remember, but when I first got into BJDs I wanted an Abadon and now...but I really like Cian :XD: And now they added sleeping heads!

      That is awesome!!! :D

    5. I have to say, I've been tempted to get myself the YoMidi Williams, for the sole reason of it being a Williams and I love that doll to death. Am I glad that I'm lacking the funds right now...

So, I guess the answer is... yes...? It's fun to see them all side by side!

    6. I'm getting a Minifee of Chloe and a Minifee Celine. I was tempted to also get Chloe in SD size sometime down the road, since her face is narrower, so it looks like it'd be easier to get a more mature look out of the SD Chloe. However, I ordered my Minifees in time for the 2014 Spring Event, so I got the event head, and it looks like it might actually be close enough to what I'm looking for, so now I doubt I'd buy the SD version.

    7. Sounds to me like a time-warp experiment. The youngest meeting himself as less young, teenager, adult...I never considered it. I have considered buying a MNF luka girl AND a MNF luka boy as a twin experiment but I don't think it'll ever happen: I like to look at different sculpts too much.

    8. I'd like a multi head Cupid in addition to my awaited Puki Puki Cupid. I think it's kind of cool that fairyland makes some of their sculpts in multiple sizes.

    9. I don't have multiple FL molds anymore, but I used to have MNF Karsh and Nanuri 12B in the F60 line. I only have the F60 left now.
I do have Dollmore Kara Klum and Pado. They're "related" according to DM but they look like big and little molds, which is why I have both, so I think it should count!

OH! I forgot I have an SP Breakaway and the MNF SP Breakaway! So I do have the FL ones still XD *fail*

    10. I love it too. And I think FL does listen to requests from their customers. I think people have wanted an "older" version of the Ante mold for a while, and they got it in a MNF head. And that one is quite popular too. I think we just have to keep asking for much loved molds and they will at least consider it. Maybe there are dolls they didn't know customers wanted!

LOL on the Breakaways and I think it counts! ;)

    11. I have the same character in four different sizes - an SD adult, MSD teenager, yo-SD six year old, and a chibi Puki. But they aren't the same sculpt or even all from the same company - I found it a bit more entertaining to find different sculpts that I felt resembled the character at different ages. But if the same sculpt had been available in all the sizes, I'd have been tempted.

    12. I can see the appeal of having a chibi version of a big doll or a grown up version of a small doll. If there were fewer sculpts to choose from, I might do something like that. There are just so many sculpts that I want though, that I try not to buy dolls whose faces are too similar, let alone the same sculpt.

    13. I prefer to have only one sculpt from each company, so as to limit myself from buying too many dolls of course! As of such, if i was provided with limitless monetary funds then I don't see why I shouldn't buy multiples of the same sculpt even if they do not come in a different size :) Heck, I'd buy anything and everything that captured my attention in a heartbeat, given the choice.

    14. I'm really invested in the Fairyland Luka sculpt. The sculpt is very versatile and easy to work with. I'm really trying to hold it in but I need the Feeple60 version in my life. I have the MNF version though, and had another one before.

    15. no. it seems kind of redundant, but thats just me.
I love the little monica little kliff but the harmony version is just kind of eh, don't like him as much.

    16. well it depend on the sculpt, but that would be wonderful!!! so i could have the character in different age stages.:D

    17. Depends on the sculpt, but as I eye my three Dollshe Bernards and my wishlist with two more Bernards in store, I would totally go for an MSD or a Mini version. I think the MSD version would be complete and utter adorable and would likely be spoiled like no other doll of mine has been so far... As it is I'm going to end up purchasing non-Dollshe bodies for my last two so that none of the five have the same body type.

And I was thinking of getting a Minifee version of a character of mine that I'm getting as an SD just so I can have a version of her that can easily sit on my desk as I write.

    18. ...Yea... I have done - I swore I wouldn't but when the time came I couldn't resist picking up a SuperGem sized Sabik alongside a MA Elf-Eared Sabik :sweat Though to be fair SG Sabik is supposed to be the same character in a human-disguise sooo... I suppose he's there for a legitimate purpose? It certainly let me show two sides of his peronality in the face-ups, suave and confident elf!Jareth and humble self-effacing human!Jerome...

    19. I definitely would! I have a NS Pukifee Bonnie, and I would LOVE a LTF Bonnie, and the tan versions of both. Personally, I am holding out for MNF Bonnie, but I doubt they will actually make her. I loved what they did with the MNF Ante, so a MNF Bonnie would be just wonderful!
