Would you get a Minimee of yourself?

Sep 26, 2009

    1. No, I personally wouldn't want to make a doll version of myself. I enjoy creating new characters that live and reign in a fantasy-themed world :)

    2. I thought about it, actually. But then I thought about the sculpt and how boring it would be not having to develop a character and I decided not to in the end lol

    3. Nope, they don't have my body type in dolls for me to have one. Besides there is no reason for me to have a minme. I have enough of me on a daily basis.

    4. Nope, maybe in clothing style because I only like boy or tomboy girl characters. But not physical features. I think I would get kinda freaked out haha. I like my dolls to portray my OCs and when they don't they get sold off fast lol.

    5. I honestly think I'd be too creeped out by a tiny me staring back at me from the shelf! But it's an interesting idea. I'd possibly try making doll versions of people around me? Though, thinking about it, that might be even creepier...

    6. Nope, I'm fat and plain. A doll that looked like me would be restricted to jeans and a T-shirt every friggin' day. BORING!!!

    7. I get plenty of time with myself (after all--I'm the one I spend all day with!), so I don't think I need more me in my life. I get to be my own dolly and do what I would want me to do in real life (which, right now, involves an eight year block of schooling--my dollies are my escape from a reality of me playing myself...whew).

Besides--I wouldn't really go with a lot of my dolls (who are from a vaguely fantastical and magical alternate universe).

I also wouldn't be great at choosing the sculpt--I can't really picture anyone in my head (literally--"picture yourself" is a red smudge because I know I'm a ginger; I guess it's a good thing I can recognize myself and others), or even begin to describe their features, so I'd have to have a picture of myself beside the company photos for my research. (Makes you wonder what about my wiring's funky--but my wiring's funky with clothing pattern generation too, so I guess it evens out.)

    8. Probably not. That would be a lot of work. I'd have to find a kinky black-brown wig, dark, dark brown eyes, and a cinnamon brown doll with a flat chest. I think I'm pretty ugly so no.

    9. No way, It would seriously serve no purpose, kind of like be being alive at this moment.

    10. :D There is simply no doll that will look like me :D Are dolls mold are too skinny and beautiful.
But no, I´d rather stick to the fantasy situated dolls, than have small version of myself. :D

    11. I'm kind of vain, so that'd actually be pretty cool. Imagine posing yourself with your dolls...
I feel like I'd be charmed by a doll of the younger me, in ninety or so years. I'd love to dress myself up in little miniature clothes that I wouldn't buy in real life, or make a diorama and pose myself in it, in fun scenarios. I don't mind if it's realistic or incredibly stylised, I might even have both! I just think the idea is adorable and full of potential, hahaha!

    12. I thought about it but then thought my husband would make fun of me and it might be a bit vain! But I love pictures of people with their mini me dolls

    13. I think that I have conflicting feelings about my looks so I am not sure if I would do it. It would have to be based on a really good picture of me if I did it. I would have to be having a great day where I feel beautiful with a nice expression on my face.. I think I lean more towards not doing it because like most people I am not perfectly symmetrical. I am not sure how that would translate to a doll head. I am a huge fan of Misha Collins the actor. Some of the minimee heads I have seen done of him are very nice and some are not as handsome as he really is in person at all.

    14. yes of course ! I would be so funny to get a doll like me with ginger wig and hazel eyes but I think it would be difficult to find the good mold. I'm not really tall so a msd would be great !

    15. Not exactly, but I do put a little of myself into the characters... Deirdre is super Irish, which is my mom's heritage. I also really want to figure out how to hybrid Dollshe Aramis onto a female body, because there don't seem to be any female sculpts with a square jaw. That's definitely the most unusual feature of mine, but making a beautiful square-jawed woman is probably as far as I'd go with the mini-me concept. I look plain in real life, with brown eyes and brown hair, so dolls are cool to me partly because they can have fantastical hair/eye/skin colors and mods ^^

    16. I would get one with attributes of myself that I like. For example, my next dolly will have red hair like me! I feel like this will make it easier to bond with the doll :)

    17. I think it's funny that people keep saying they think they are ugly because I find that whenever I look at art dolls for a long time it's easier to see the art in peoples' faces. I could see the doll in everybody I ran into at work today, for example. People are art by nature. I don't know if I've ever met a truly ugly person.

Having said that, having a doll of myself would be odd. I'm more into expressions of parts of myself through the doll than characters from stories, though I am a writer, but I want them to look like metaphorical expressions, not literal ones. Otherwise it's boring.

    18. Me? HMMMM. Face, yes, body would be a hard one. But my husband? Already threatened it, and he was "sure, that'd be kind of awesome." (lucky bugger is naturally lean, and naturally hilariously vain) SO if money was free and wishes were fishes, I'd get a custom sculpt of him AND maybe like, my face on a nice fit curvy body? Yes. Yes I totally would. I've talked myself into it.

    19. If I had the excess funds to spend on dolls I would absolutely shell myself and my boyfriend as dolls, however, I'd style them in the fantasy setting that the rest of my dolls live in so they would be a bit quirkier than us. I think I'm also really partial to this idea because Withdoll Emma shares my name and looks similar to me (as similar as dolls tend to get) and the small bust option they offer is just so perfect for my body type. :3nodding:

    20. I wouldn't now, but when I was 7 or 8 I actually had a doll made to look like me and we had matching clothes and stuff.
