Wow! He/She is sooo small/tall!?? Being surprised by size!

I am still stunned at how big the feet are on my new girl

 

i was really surprised by the weight when i got my first dollie. lord was she heavy? O_O i never knew resin could weigh that much XD! now it just feels ok because i've gotten used to handling her, but in the beginning it was even kind of annoying i kept thinking i was going to drop her, or that if i made her stand on her feet she was going to fall down etc. LOL

 

I've been very anxious about that. I really prefer tinies, so I know when I make the plunge to a MSD it's going to seem HUGE!

 

Gabrielleh~ I felt the same. It gave me a bit of a jolt seeing my MSD when I went to the customs just yesterday. The unfamiliarity started with the size of the ems box. XD Then came all those bubble wrap!

I am usually surprised by how the dolls feel once I unpack them. The first msd's felt really large, because most of my experience was Barbie related. The next 5 dolls were all smaller, lighter, more delicate, then I received my first sd, and man, she felt huge! I got her an EID boyfriend, and now I really understand the definition of "huge". He's a gorgeous lug. The latest lady to join my crew has a feeling of weight, almost a gravitas, to her.

 

it's rather the sizes of heads that have surprised med the most over the years.

 

I've yet to see a SD13 sized doll in person... I ordered one not too long ago. To this point I've only had two "tinies" and two MSDs. I can only imagine how big this doll is going to be. xD

 

I had two SD girls already, but when I got SD boy (not much difference- maybe 3-6 cm) I was stunned. O_O That was the first time I realized how BIG my dolls actually are.

I was amazed by my only MSD too. He seemed so tiny when I opened his box. But it wasn't that much of a shock. But omg... 60 cm tall guy.... OwO

 

Although I had never seen any BJDs in real life before I got my 60cm DOT, her size didn't really surprise me. However, when I went to my first meet and got to hold someone's pukipuki, I was totally shocked how small he was!

 

When I first got my SD that was 58 cm, I was so surprised to see the difference in height between her and my tiny MSD boy. :O She made him look like a child!

 

I actually thought my LTF was going to be smaller than he is.. Now that I'm expecting a Tiny Delf and an MSD in a few months I think I'm going to be very surprised, especially by the Tiny Delf...

Super excited, but surprised. xP

The tallest I have is a Taeyang at the moment.


10/1/2012: The shoes I ordered for my MSD and Tiny Delf came today and they're HUGE and SO SMALL! /bjd newbie!

Haha. xD Even more excited now, though!

 

My first (and only) doll is a MSD, and I wasn't really expecting her to be so big. It doesn't help that I have no mental concept of centimeters since that's not what we use here, so even after I checked it out on my measuring tape and went "wow, that's big", the concept of it being big didn't really stick. So then when I got her I was a bit blown away, and for some reason her feet seemed enormous to me. But my friend told me that my doll actually has some of the smallest features of her size range, so that just make me wonder how big other MSD feet got since hers still looked huge to me!

 

I don't have my tiny yet but I've ordered his clothes and can't believe how, tiny they are! My dolls range from 57-65cms and seeing something that's 26cms small seems crazy tiny.

 

My doll chateau Cyril was my first 70cm. While I had held plenty of others before, he was just, So Skimmy and So Tall. XD it was Amazing. Now I want them all for their weird landlines. XD but he was very startling.

 

My first doll was 70cm tall, and when i got him in the mail he didn't seem that big, actually. Then i bought my second doll, a yosd, and i've come to realize that he is HUGE! After buying more dolls i don't think i could ever get another 70cm, they are just so big.

 

It's funny...I have two MSDs and a Pukipuki, and what startled me most was how noticeable the 2 cm height difference between my MSDs was. June (girl MSD) was my only doll for over a year, and apparently I got used her size down to the last centimeter. As soon as I pulled Darcy out of his box I was struck by how tall and manly he was, even though in reality it's not that much of a difference! He's still my biggest doll. I have no idea what I would make of an SD. Lol.

 

My first one was about a 1/3 and I was so surprised when I got him. I wasn't expecting him to be so tall or so heavy. Even now, when I stand him up I find it really weird because he feels so darn tall XD

 

when my first doll came in he was a bobobie apollo, so naturally he was LOOSE...i picked him up out of the box and thought, "HE'S SOOOO BIG!!!!! hope he'll fit his pants..." i had seen youtube videos with SD size dolls, but it still caught me by surprise...then when i got my MSD girl and YoSD girl i thought, "they're so small and cute!!!"

 

My first doll was a Delf and my second doll was a Dollmore MSD....so it was a real shock when I finally got another SD....she was huge compared to the Delf!

 

My first doll was an SD AOD Sara and I wasn't surprised by her size because I already had porcelain dolls around the same size.

Recently though I received a Leekeworld Croom and I was utterly shocked at how heavy and big he was. He's still sitting on my desk waiting for me to tighten his elastic but I'm going to need at least 2 other people to help me I think.
