I, honestly, can't buy directly from any aforementioned dealer. They do not/ can not ship to my country.

So I was wondering, if You have a link to taobao shop. Or do I have to write directly to Yi Cen for a link for a shop/personally made item listing?

 

You can write to YC personally and she can organise for you to order from her. When I did this last time, she created a TB link for me personally and I paid her this way.

Remember, you MUST write to her in chinese. I recommend using Papago as a translator, just translate then translate it back to English (or whichever language you're comfortable with) to make sure it makes sense. And if it doesn't just try rephrasing your sentence a little. Short, easy sentences are best.

I would advise you contact her first and she can tell you the steps directly to confirm instead of me just making assumptions based on my experience last time^^

Stacey's hasn't seem to have listed the doll yet, but I hope the agent fee they charge will not be too high. Either way, their customer service should be better than Moonlight and their shipping costs more transparent.

Oh no! I shouldve waited! I paid for Chi Ye last night with Moonlight

 

Fortunately there's a 24 hr cancellation policy ! I was able to cancel my order right after reading @Setsura's posts.

 

It seems like Stacey's markup is similar, but there's an option to buy without jointed hands which Moonlight doesn't give. And given their overall reputation is much better than that of Moonlight's, I'd still recommend them over Moonlight.

The 4950RMB price for YC76 one head one set of jointed hands is a price that was given to everyone who ordered via email through her QQ group. The ordering period was 10 minutes (no limit), so a lot of people set up automatic emails and just let that go off at the right time.

YC will still sell it normally outside of this QQ group price, but the cost is slightly higher, but still nowhere near the markup of Moonlight or Stacey's. As far as I checked, the price on the Thai agent was about 5XXXRMB for the same thing, or the other option as I previously mentioned is to DM her directly in chinese.

I know that for some people, maybe it's just worth paying the markup and saving hassle, but I really would recommend trying the other cheaper methods first. And at least, there is Stacey's this time and not just Moonlight.

I hope everything I've said can be of help - I want to be as transparent and provide as much honest information as possible. Wherever you decide to buy it in the end, I hope you get the doll you want without problems.

 

I'm really loving Chi Ye, so I'm contemplating on getting him
Does anyone have both Tan and Light Tan and can take a comparison photo? I love Tan skin so I'm having a hard time picking which skin tone to get.
Btw, is Yi Cen still working on the 80cm body, or did it change to 77cm that shes continuing to work on?

 

Light tan is really similar to Soom Tawny, and the tan I havr at home is similar to soom bronze. I believe she has some pictures on her IG for comparison between tan and light tan as well.

Regarding the YC80, she told me that she decided not to go ahead further because the size is difficult to manage and she didn't think it would be very popular, since many people have concerns about clothes fitting etc. So she changed it to be the YC77. You can still stack on the leg extension parts to make him taller, and you can put more than one on each leg if you want him to be extra tall.

The first YC75 release was with Chong Lin, where she revised the body later to YC76 that was released with Wu Qi. Chi Ye 3.0 has a revised YC76 again which has hook holders in the arms and legs to make it easier to change hands. YC also released a free downloadable stl file that allows you to print a part to put inside the previous YC76s to be able to hold the hooks as well.

YC77 is a new model separate to the YC76s, but it came as the final iteration from the original YC83, which she slowly changed to YC81, YC80, before its just YC77 now.

 

Thank you so much for clarification! I did see the comparison photos for the Tan and Light Tan and was wondering how they would look under different lighting. I actually have both Soom Tawny and Bronze Idealians, and love both so I'm still back to pondering which to get lol
Are there more differences between the YC76 vs YC77 other than the height differences?

 

You can compare the measurements she released. The YC77 is overall bigger than the YC76 in most places. So, ID75 clothing won't fit, maybe only pants.

Hello, I am curious with those who ordered via Stacy's, what was your experience with shipping quotes? I really want to up my chances of ordering down the road once Ycen opens ordering of another doll or weigh my options and deal with Xianyu and get secondhand

 

Well I ended up not getting Chi Ye due to unexpected expense T_T
How likely is it for a preorder for him to be open again this year? Im guessing not likely as theres only few preorders each year, so I'm sure the artist would want to focus on other dolls in 2023

 

The demon head for Chi Ye and the YC77 was a new release last time, but it's not the first time Chi Ye has been released. I believe it may be his third (?) release already. If you want him quickly, I can advise you look in to the Chinese second hand market, where there are some to be for sale for sure either now or in the future.

I believe this year she is re-releasing Chong Lin and Wu Qi, but she also often updates heads a little or releases a new version of it. Same goes for the bodies, she tends to remaster them a little bit, so it's hard to say exactly what she will do. I'm sure there may be other releases as well, but I believe Chong Lin and Wu Qi have already been penned in.

 

Thank you for answering! That's reassuring that she'll rereleaae Chi Ye again with some updates in the future. I guess ill have the time to save up for him then since it's not anytime soon. Im still open to the secondhand market though! Navigating through xianyu is tough since I need to keep going back and forth with the papago translator to see if the listing is actually a sale post or if it's a WTB post ^^; but for Chi Ye, I'm willing to do the extra leg work lol
