1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

"You Have A Problem" - Friends Who Think Your Hobby Is Wank

Sep 30, 2009

    1. My family and close friends are used to my hobbies so they don't judge. When in school I put my money to horses, Star Wars, books, comics and music when all the other girls where buying clothes, make- up and other "girlie" things (some put their money on alcohol and tobacco). So I'm used to being little bit weird and that others don't share my enthusiasm with things.

When I was younger I got some comments about how I used my money. That I should stop "wasting money" on things I did. I did ask back what was not wasting money (well, besides keeping it in the bank) but I never got proper answer!

People I work with don't understand putting money to "toys" so I don't talk to them about my BJD*s (or any other things that I'm interested in) if they don't ask. Sometimes they do, because DHL delivers my parcels to my workplace. But they have not made any comments about money.

There will always be people who are extremely narrow- minded and don't understand things they don't like. For example one of my workmates. She has really strong views about everything and if somebody doesn't think same way they are wrong. She doesn't understand bronys because My Little Ponies are made for young girls, period. Everybody should behave their age and not be "childish", so kids on highschool are not supposed to play with toys anymore (her relatives have kids who still play with Schleigh animals and Legos. She doesn't want to understand that Schleigh is collected by kids and adults and some Lego stuff is not ment for small kids). Best way to deal with her is to ignore those things.

    2. My immediate family doesn't harass me. On the other hand, they're not into spending or collecting things either. So I'm sure they would be shocked if they knew exactly how much I spent. My husband is supportive but also has been... kind of blown away about the costs. On the other hand, when I decided I wanted a coffee maker, he ordered an expensive grinder and a cappuccino machine. I'm the only one who drinks coffee and neither of us drink cappuccino. And I thought he spent way too much. But when I saw him happily setting it up and experimenting with all the settings -playing, I kind of realized that gadgets are HIS hobby and just let him be.
