Your Collection of Floating Heads: Planning or Collection?

I have 2 full dolls and 4 floating heads

What kind of heads do you have or look for?
Two of my floating heads are gifts from the companies. I had them during events.
I bought the other 2 because they were going to be discontinued. I couldn’t afford the bodies at that moment, so I only bought the heads.

Do you have mulitples of the same head?
No, but I wouldn’t complain to have a second Leeke Mihael head ! I just love his sculpt !

What were your original plans for the heads?
I do plan to find them a body one day. At the moment they share bodies with my 2 other full dolls…

Will you continue to search for and purchase interesting heads whether or not they become part of a doll?
If I can’t afford a body or if I don’t like the body that goes with the head, I can perfectly imagine buying other floating heads. Collecting is one of the aspects that attract me the most in this hobby. However, I would try my best to find them a body as soon as I can.

What is the main reason you have not made your heads into anything yet?
There’re 2 reasons. Either I don’t know which body will be best for them or I just can’t afford the bodies at the moment…

What kind of heads do you have or look for?
I bought my Cherry head because she was getting discontinued, my Loren head (who was discontinued early this year) I found on the MP after I put out a WTB, and I snatched up the Linglan head after she was brought out of retirement. At the time I'd thought she was only being brought back for a limited time, but nope, she's still available! Got her on sale though To be fair, I was planning on getting them anyway, it just so happens whatever dolls I like end up getting retired!

Do you have mulitples of the same head?
Yup, I sure do! My pink Cherry head is the mom of my tan Cherry, hence why I got the same mold.

What were your original plans for the heads?
Priss (PS Cherry) is Yumeko's (tan Cherry) mom. Michiko (Linglan) is Yumeko's best friend. Emi (Loren) is another friend of Yumeko's.

Will you continue to search for and purchase interesting heads whether or not they become part of a doll?
If they're not gonna eventually be a full doll I'm not going to waste my time.

What is the main reason you have not made your heads into anything yet?
I need to pay off my CC before I can start acquiring bodies for my heads!

 

My head collection is definitely unplanned. Nobody in their right mind plans to have 53 floating heads.

What kind of heads do you have or look for?
Heads that appeal to me, that I think might fit in with the dolls I have already. Also, I keep heads that originally belonged to bodies I've hybridized.

Do you have mulitples of the same head?
Yes, I have multiples of some Minimees, and open-eye and closed-eye versions of some heads.

What were your original plans for the heads?
I wanted to paint the multiples as the same character with different looks. Either that, or I was temporarily insane.

Sadly, yes.

What is the main reason you have not made your heads into anything yet?
Lack of time, or still looking for the perfect body, or changing my mind about what I wanted to do.

 

What kind of heads do you have or look for?
I have 2 floating heads right now - I had a Souldoll Key head for the longest time then got his body, only to turn around & get a free DollZone Helen head & an Elfdoll Rainy Rita I may get a couple Minimee ~sic~ heads in the future.

Not yet, but I want to get a Bichun head (already have a full doll), because I want tattoos on one head but not the other.

What were your original plans for the heads?
I have every intention of getting their bodies - in fact know what I'm doing w/the DollZone. I'm still trying to determine what to get for the Elfdoll.

I only get heads that I plan on using for characters (meaning getting a body) or as an extra head (for costuming/alternate makeup/sleeping purposes) of dolls I already own.

What is the main reason you have not made your heads into anything yet?
I just got the heads this month - I will be ordering the Dollzone body once the head gets a faceup. I'm still deciding on the Elfdoll's body.

 

I have one floating head and I do not like to have floating heads >__< I see this head as an object (not like my dolls whom I've bonded with) so I've kept it in a box since the day I got it and I don't plan to even touch it until I get it a body...it's been in that box for almost a year, I feel like sometimes I even forget that I have it!

What kind of heads do you have or look for?
I have a modded Soom R.Beyla...it's one of those heads with the huge hole for the unicorn horn but I saw that head WITHOUT the hole in the Soom website and I fell in love with the mold (I only like human dolls, no fantasy)

I bought the head on ebay because the person was able to mod the head so now it looks like a regular head, no hole! and in person looks perfect!!

I'm looking now for a Crobidoll Jun head because I highly dislike Crobidoll bodies.

I don't like having multiple heads/dolls/twins etc

What were your original plans for the heads?
For the one I have and the one I want, I want to get them bodies.

I will buy a head if I can get it a body, a matching skin color body.

What is the main reason you have not made your heads into anything yet?

I'm waiting for Soom to offer one those events where we can buy only a body! I was going to buy a kid delf body but I'm afraid that the resin will not match, so I'm waiting...=__=

 

What kind of heads do you have or look for?

I buy floating heads when I cannot afford to purchase a full doll ~ especially if it is a head that is hard to find our only sold in batches. Currently I have five floating heads, two Migidoll Jinas, a Cho, a Ryu and a Soom Chalco.

Yep! I have three Migidoll Jina heads, one has a body though(:

My plans are still to eventually buy them bodies and turn them into the characters they are meant to be.

I never buy a head with the intent of leaving it a head forever :/ In fact, I am getting to the point where I would rather not by heads anymore unless I buy a full doll. I do have one last head though that I would really like and then I want to save my money towards bodies.

Money! If I could afford bodies and wigs for all of my dolls they would have them.

 

I dont have one, but hopefully I will soon. If/when I do, I definitely have plans for it. Its just a matter of saving up for it.

 

I do too! It makes me happy to have them.

 

I have only one floating head, and I really hope I don't have to leave him that way for too much longer. He's been just a head for a year, and I hate it!! As soon as I can afford to get him a body, he's definitely getting one. I've been slowly gathering things... just ordered his eyes and a wig... so yeah. I can't imagine having tons of floating heads... to me, it feels so incomplete and it leaves me feeling frustrated. Every time I look at the head, I wish I had a body to put it on!

I'm going to try to avoid having floating heads in the future. I've quickly learned that I can't stand it. Even though I always see heads on the MP that I would love to buy!!

 

I had a floating head for a few months. He was an event head i got with another doll, I didn't really like the sculpt and planned to sell him. Unfortunately I fell in love with his sad look, and before he even got home he had himself a character and a place in my story so then I couldn't possibly sell him. Got him a body and now he's whole. Love him so much.

Because of that I don't think I'd be able to have any floating heads, cause they'd turn into dolls within months. I skipped the Fairyland feeple60 event head because I was afraid it'd get a character, but truth is I liked the "male" one. I actually do want floating heads, cause it would be a great way to get dolls that you want in the future (like dolls that are soon to be discontinued, or ones that are limited) without having to spend a fortune at the entire doll right now.

 

I agree. It's like I gotcha, now I can relax.

 

Event heads are the gateway drug into full-fledged head collecting.

 

I don't have unattached heads as of yet, but I have been toying with the idea of ordering a doll made and ordering several head scults that fit that body in the same skin color with face ups also what ever extra pieces like hands and feet in different poses so that I could swap out heads like wigs.

 

I honestly try to get whole dolls at once, but sometimes, cost is an issue and there's also the question of hybriding and getting one part before the other ^^;

What kind of heads do you have or look for?
Two Dikadoll Ruber heads, one Leeke Wien head, one Soom Hollow Migma head, and one Stuart Townsend MnM head. I don't go 'looking' for heads... I just tend to browse the MP too much for my own good!

Yes, the two Dikadoll Ruber heads, but I got them as a surprise gift from a lovely girl in France


What were your original plans for the heads?
Migma as my evil seductress, Wien as my quiet little boy, the two Ruber boys as incarnations of Faith and Joy, and Stuart as Lestat from Queen of the Damned!

I always intend for them to become whole dolls as I feel really sorry for them just 'floating' around, they look so lonely ._. But I'm an extremist and impulsive by nature so I think my head collection just might grow... with the hopes of acquiring bodies, someday!

Cost. That's just it. I tend to get into too many layaways at once for new babies and completing the current ones takes a bit of time... ^^;

 

What kind of heads do you have or look for?
I tend look for heads that match characters I have in mind. I look mostly for the heads first, since the bodies that come with the heads often are not the body types that I have in mind for the character. I currently have a couple of floating heads from AriPina, Leekeworld, and Luts. I purchased the Leekeworld head because it was being discontinued, and the AriPina head because I was afraid it would be discontinued.

I do have two of the same head, although only one of them is a floating head.

What were your original plans for the heads?
One of the heads is an event head that I received from Luts, and I have no plans for it. I plan to get bodies for the other two heads eventually.

I will continue to look at interesting heads because there are a lot of beautiful and handsome heads out there, but I don't think I will purchase them unless they fit into ideas I have for characters. I don't have the space or finances to purchase every head that I gush over, although I wish I do!

What is the main reason you have not made your heads into anything yet?
I was actually planning to save up enough money to buy a head and body at the same time, but I had to rush to buy the head I wanted from Leekeworld when they announced that they were going to discontinue their basic doll lines. With the Aripina head, I was afraid they were going to stop selling dolls when they English web site went down, so I also rushed to purchase the head that I've been planning to buy eventually. In both of these cases, I'd only saved up enough for the heads (barely), and not anything else. So I haven't made my floating heads into anything yet because of finances and space.

 

I'm glad you're still collecting heads! So am I. I acquired some headless bodies for a few of the floaters.
