Your doll looks like you!

Nope, all of my dolls are fair skinned, and 2 of them are blonde whereas I'm tanned and have dark hair. My third doll has dark brown hair but she's a girl so that's not gonna work either.

I do dress my boy Christian exactly like myself (hoodies, jeans, sneakers, lots of blacks and reds) and I even buy him clothes that look like mine (he owns miniature replicas of a hoodie and a pair of boots of mine, I even made him a shirt out of an old shirt I loved).

I do plan on finding a doll who looks like me and making him my own mini me to carry around

 

Haha yes, when my doll had red hair just like I do, people would say that my doll looked like me. But I really don't think we have similar faces, so that was kind of silly...

 

If I looked like my doll I'd get a case of Narcissism so bad that I couldn't live without a mirror.

I've had people say that to me too. I look nothing like my doll. It's so weird.

 

I personally don't think I look like eaither of my dolls. I try to make my dolls look like my own characters. I can understand why some people's dolls look like them, though. You kind of put a little of yourself into your doll.

 

Two of my dolls reflect whom I want to be, but they don't look like me, even one of them is a boy.
My other dolls are the characters I like.

 

Heh - none of my dolls look like me, but I did realize they all have the exact same hair part that I do. LOL! They all have their hair parted slightly left of center. It's a stylistic decision, obviously, but it didn't even register until I started brushing out my boys' wigs one day.

 

Someone said this on a previous thread, but "People are attracted to dolls with features similar to themselves" which would explain a whole lot. People tend to go for what they're familiar with. So whether its the chin, the bridge of the nose, the width of the forehead, or whatever, chances are you share some sort of feature like your dolls :3 I think I slightly look like my 이슬 but that was sort of on purpose. She's got straight black hair and brown eyes. You can't get more asian than that.

 

Someone told me that my doll looked like me because we both had red and black hair at the time (I still do, she has a different wig now) and we both wear a lot of red and black. It wasn't so much her faceup, but the personality and overall appearance that got this guy staring and asking me questions about my doll.

 

When I published a photo of Chaeri and myself on another doll forum recently, I was told by several people that she and I look alike--which startled me a bit since our coloring is completely different and I wear glasses and she doesn't. Still, I find it flattering since Ri-ri is so lovely.

 

I tend to choose dolls with same features as myself--tiny noses and prominent lips. I'd definitely be flattered if someone told me I looked like my doll!

Oh and I agree with some posts here, I'd love a mini me to carry around too!

 

My mom said my EL looks like me, I even had a picture up on the screen and a friend took a glance and asked if it was me. I guess I can see it!

As for my current girl Freya, I plan to dress her in the style I would like for myself. ^^

 

I've actually toyed with this idea. One of my story characters is actually a self-insert and I'd love to have her in doll form. But I think it would be rather had to find a heavy set doll. The round face would be easy but the body would definitely have to be modded.

 

I've been avoiding getting a doll with hair like mine just to keep people from thinking she looks like me, but mostly because the idea kind of makes me uncomfortable. I remember having an American Girl Doll that my sister-in-law got me as a kid that was supposed to look like me, and she made me feel awkward anytime I looked at her. It's probably carryover from that. 8D;; But I think it can be done really well if it's deliberate.

 

yes, i look a little like one of my dolls, coincidentally (or not, because i usually style her wigs like my own hair or similar to it). i like that we have something in common. also she's tan, and while i have white skin naturally, during the summer i tend to get about as tan as my doll.

my doll also looks asian (i imagine she's korean-american) and i have been 'accused' of being asian once (and i use the word 'accused' because i was, literally, accused about lying about my racial ethnicity by one of my teachers at college, who was totally crazy and convinced i was asian when i am in fact 100% caucasian...i mean, it could have been a complement - up until the point where she accused me of lying about it!)

as for my other dolls, each of them tends to have a "theme look" to suit their personality, which may reflect aspects of my own self- or not. i really don't mind if my dolls look like me or not, or what others think of it.

I'v never had it happen to me. Then again I don't think I resemble my dolls at all. But I have seen a few other peoples dolls and suddenly realised they remind me of a friend which always weird's me out for some reason. On one occasion I was looking through owners photos of MNF Miyu because she's a sculpt I really like and want to in-body one of my characters. She had never reminded me of anyone before but there was just own owner photo that made her look the spitting image of someone I used to be friends with but have since fallen out with. I'm never rather put off the idea of getting her :/

 

I think it might be cool to have a mini me around. I'd probably get her tons of clothes and spoil her more than I do myself! XD

 

Nope. My boys are anime inspired so my eyes can't get dreamy looking, that and proportionally they are like 2 feet taker than me.

 

I've gotten that before, from my family. Lol.
But I think it's because at first I kinda dressed my first doll like me.
She also sports my fave colors in both her hair and eyes.
So I think it's kinda just a first reaction thing.
If you look at her actual features, we look nothing alike. Sadly. Lol.
