Your Doll Plans for 2012

My doll plan for 2011 was: breaking the deathgrip Soom had on my wallet, and not buying any dolls from them.

Which worked... until July, when they released Migma. So I caved once, no big deal. Except then I got sucked into the male Free Choice event in September for two boys. And then for Alex in October. And then Clozel in November.

So, uh. My 2011 plans didn't.. exactly go as planned

My doll plans for 2012 consist of minimising the dolls I buy (which is... going to be subjective, considering I'm already in for two in the female Free Choice event and two in the Teenie Free Choice Event ), and focussing more on buying wigs/eyes/outfits for the characters I already have at home. So far only my Migma and my Galena have their 'default' character accoutrements. And Galena's eyes and wig are really only approximates of her actual defaults, and will eventually be upgraded >.>

Hopefully Soom aren't planning on any more Free Choice events this year, and won't be releasing any exciting Legends either!

 

My dolly plans for 2012... to finally get my dolls together!
Im currently selling things to get funds to bring home 1 new addition.
After that I don't plan to get any new dolls this year. The focus will be on building wardrobes for them, maybe even making them their own 'doll rooms' so they don't have to stay in their box all the time.
And ofcourse, I want to go to a few meetups and make some doll buddies in my area. :p

 

My doll plans for 2012:
- buy each a summer outfit for my dolls at home
- buy face-up material / paint the face-up less ones
- save up for a dollzone 65cm girl body
- get another whole new doll (head + body, no face-up): changes constantly but a Doll Chateau SD Hubery would be nice!

 

Any dolly plans I might have would be pretty much getting what I can of the doll's on my list (total of 4) and perhaps get them as close to the characters I have planned for them with at least one set of clothes/wigs/eye/etc. I want to practice doing face-ups enough that I can be content with doing my own and not have to buy/commission for them to be done by someone else.
Considering I'm still waiting on my first doll I haven't put too much thought into what I want to accomplish within the year, but usually have a habit of doing/taking things as they come anyway.

 

Having wrangled a wonderful minimee Jake Sully and Neytiri, my 2012 plans are to get bodies for both and get them air brushed. I have the body on order for Jake but looks like it make be several more weeks before it arrives. I ordered a blue one that I will match his head to as best I can with dye or airbrushing. Then if I look the way the colors look I will get Neytiri a body in the same blue. If not then back to the drawing or actually *coloring* board.
I also have some photo plans for my human Luna Tamer in her lovely Casablanca SODA gown in a historical cemetary nearby that has tons of pre-Civil war statuary in it. I want to wait until I get the minimee Brad Pitt (Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire) Louis I have on layaway. Will be awesome among the moss drapped oaks and concrete angels!

 

That sounds awesome! I'm a huge Avatar fan. *.* I saw Louis just the other day. I can't believe how realistic those dolls are.

As for me, I'm mostly looking at some out-of-production limiteds that came out before I was as into the hobby as I am now, so I never knew about them before coming to Den of Angels.

 

I plan on saying goodbye to my current YoSD. Then buying a littlefee Ante and I'm going to spoil her until christmas, Then probably get another doll...

 

I find that I hardly ever stick to my plans - when I ordered my second BJD last year I was adamant to stick to 2 girls so that they could keep each other company. Now I have 4 "finished" girls and 2 more waiting for face ups and wigs & eyes...

So my plans for 2012 include finishing these 2 dears before I do anything else. Though I'm a bit worried about one of them because I can't really find a personality for her. I'm not much of a backstory-person but I do generally find some trait in the doll's features that makes be base a personality around what ever feeling the face seems to express. I'm hoping a face up will fix it for me, because right now I'm not getting anything from this lady...

My other plan has to do with finishing my BA essay. I've decided that if I pass this semester without having to complete anything next semester I'm treating myself to a new doll. I'm leaning towards Iplehouse Soo or Carina. :3

 

Whittle down my collection-which I am in the process of doing, getting the ones I keep face up'd and finished--also in process, then focusing on the dolls on my wish list one by one, starting with a DC Colin. thus far I've been able to stick to this plan.

 

Interesting situation here. The strikes I consider finished, as I did indeed thin my collection (but am still doing it lol) and am a couple shipments away from completing Max, who is...basically the only one not complete. The others have been nixed. I have decided that two large dolls are enough, and even my two minis are enough for now. Any new doll I get this year will be 30cm and under. New plans:

--Jointed hands for Max (haha oh man that was fast)
--Well-made cane for Max
--Fur travel/hanging out wig for Max
--Send Max's head away for a face up where it doesn't look like his lip is bleeding
--Begin prepping for first nice-looking photostory (crafting ahoy~!)
--Another Pukifee

Sounds reasonable enough to me~

I am still waiting on a ton of stuff to come in the mail, but really all I have left to actually get ordered are a few wigs and eyes, and I think everyone has a temporary set until I can get to all of that. It was actually a great exercise for me to see this list so I can see how much progress I made! Since I'm still waiting on so many things I feel like my naked, bald, blind dolls are getting practically neglected! But really it's just a matter of waiting for all their incredible goodies to arrive.

The biggest thing that is holding me up is definitely the misfortune of missing Angel Toasts' May slots. Now I have to wait until July since she is on vacation in June I don't want to string Amber and get her costume on, her wig and her crown all set up, only to have to deconstruct her to send her off for her faceup and blushing. Since I spent so much time and money putting her together it's very frustrating to have her sitting around in her box while I wait for a commission slot to open up. It'll be worth it though. Waiting for an Angel Toast faceup is always worth it.

 

My only doll related plan for this year is to sell my original Minimee head and replace it with an Aamu Emi head.

 

I'm getting my first doll and a doll of my favorite OC of all time, Meir. ^-^ I might be getting Meir's boyfriend/ husband but that's dangling in the wind at the moment. I'm hoping I can get him but it all depends on if I get a new job or not. </3

 

Right now my focus is paying off my Soom layaway. After that no more dolls for the year. My focus will be to get wigs and eyes for my new girls as well as sewing a few dresses that I have been putting off.

If I can get enough commission work in, I would love to get a Dikadoll Rena as well, but with my work schedule, it leaves me precious little time for taking on side work.

 

Here's my goal:
1. I want my yosd kanon home.. hopefully the Volks will release its 2nd version. (not likely.. =[
2. Really need to learn how to make dresses for my little girls!!!! The price for their outfits has already exceeds my clothing.. (horrible..
3. I'm going to buy my own SLR by the end of 2012! Time to save up! Before that, I think I can use my dad's to improve the skills.. LOL

- Get enough money saved to buy wig, eyes, and one outfit to hold her over until I sew for her [ ]
- Make some outfits for said doll [ ]

 

My doll plans right now include finishing my guy Oble (final faceup, outfits, etc), turning my floating DZ Ani head into a calavera skull, and maaaaaaaybe get a tiny... maybe.

Well, as for actual dolls, my 'plans' tend to depend completely on the companies that I await to come out for what I want XD .

Should Blue Fairy come out with tan boys of either Kyle, Louis, or Robin, I'd like to snap one up to give Dalia a little boyfriend X3 . She's been waiting aaages for it!

I plan to watch Soom's Faery line like a hawk in hopes they'll come out with anything matching my Dawn/Dusk couple concept.

Should Fantasy Doll come out with more face sculpts I for the tiny characters I want, those would be easy enough to add to my collection. At the very least, eventually a white-skin Rowan is in the plans for my little cosplayer Silver!

Aside from that, I'd like to buy lots of cool shoes, awesome wigs, and actually sew a few neat outfits for my three dollies. I especially want to focus on giving little Cece a nice starting lolita wardrobe and working seriously on a decent cosplay for Dalia! I must also come up with a concept for my as-yet-unnamed adopted 5stardoll zombie Chu, and put together a nice coordinate for her.

Oh, and I must make a couch! Or some kinds of furniture, like table and chairs... Maybe make a dresser for all their stuff XD !
