    1. My dolls are all characters from my novels so what the character looks like is the final deciding factor on whether or not I buy a doll. No doll comes home that isn't already a character either. That being said....

      Male dolls only and about 98% of my collection are mature males. I have a couple of dolls that are children (7 I think, out of 73) but I generally don't do child/teen dolls. Size is all over the place from 5cm to 72cm but I'd say my current favourite size is the 50-ish cm range.

      I am not a fan of teeth showing. I don't mean fangs (I'm usually perfectly fine with those and have several). I mean the ones that show teeth through a partially open mouth. I really don't like any sculpt that has a tongue showing. I find it very off-putting. There's a couple of sculpts I've seen with full on smiles and they're a nope for me, too. Excessively skinny (like the DC aesthetic) are probably going to be a no for me as well but a slender dude is fine (and sometimes necessary for the character). I'm also fine with a beefy guy (although I start to get into weight/portable issues if they're too beefy). I don't like large, puffy lips and while I don't mind larger eyes I have a point where they're just too big for my tastes. Currently I don't have dolls larger than 72cm and I'm cautiously thinking anything bigger than that is a no for me BUT I also said that about SD's when I was first getting into the hobby and the SD's in my collection right now far outnumber the MSD's I started with so....

      What really catches my eye is the weird/unusual and non-standard colours. I'm very drawn to grey (I have easily a dozen grey dolls) as well as purple, blue, green, red, black and tan all in various shades of those colours. If a doll comes with fantasy parts it's a very good bet that I'll have that as the default parts for the doll and the human parts will never be used. Extra limbs? I'll take that, please. Third eye? Bring that home. Tentacles? How did you know I was looking for that?

      I've also got a real soft spot for some of the old sculpts that I saw when I was first getting into this craziness waaaay back in 2008. I have managed to snap up some of these older gentlemen on the 2nd hand market, which I'm very pleased about, but it is a bit a treasure hunt as some of those companies no longer exist and it seems like the people who have the dolls are not willing to part with them (which I can't blame them for).

    2. I really like female sculpts. Mostly, smaller bust on a doll with longer legs draws my eye. What will really get me is seeing the doll in really interesting colors like red or teal. I like bjds that are kinda fantasy themed ( I grew up on monster high so Im still chasing those themes) and Ive seen a few male sculpts that I like but they very in size and looks. Im not to picky but i think having smaller 1/4 dolls or smaller are a must for me, 1/3 and up are just too big to play with.

    3. I'm more inclined to collect boys, I don't know why, I prefer slender, elongated bodies (SD), I'm really high from their aesthetics, and anatomically unrealistic love, it's always so interesting to consider, even after a while:3nodding:

    5. After going through many models, I find I prefer bobobie and resinsoul best for the low price, light weight, and colors available.

    6. I prefer female sculpts, and I like a variety of bust sizes and body types--but not overly thin, gaunt and sickly looking bodies. I also like my dolls to have some weight to them, not for any particular reason, it just feels nicer to me.

      I also enjoy exaggerated cupid's bows and some teeth, but not full smiles. Sculpted details like eyelids and eye creases are very interesting to me. I've also seen some dolls with sculpted lip creases, and I think they just look great!

      Finally, I'm fond of more detailed/elaborate outfits like gowns, lacy blouses, and layered outfits.

    7. I collect 1/3 scale dolls, and I tend to prefer smaller, more realistic eyes.
      I have tried to have smaller dolls before, but the smallest I have kept are my Zaoll Luv and Merry Doll Round Fang. I lost interest in the 1/4 scale doll I bought pretty quickly.

      Most of my dolls have 14mm or smaller eyes, and with most of my 14mm/16mm eyed dolls, their big eyes are my least favorite parts of their sculpts. My one doll with 18mm eyes has been in her box for years lol
