1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Your highest number of layaways at one time?

Nov 18, 2015

    1. I think one at a time is enough for me. I would stress too much over payments and I like being able to pay $150-250 off at a time per payment to get the layaway finished faster XD!

    2. Three, but that was two too many for me. I managed it but I was dead broke while I was doing it. Never again, shudder...

    3. If I need to do a layaway, it is generally because I don't have the money all at once to buy something outright, and given that, I'm focusing on getting that one doll home. While this isn't necessarily the case for other people, it seems sort of counter-intuitive to be putting smaller amounts of money into several different ventures instead of paying off one as quickly as possible. Of course, there's a chance I'd do two layaways if a rare doll I'd wanted for a long time popped up and it wasn't likely to show up again, and I knew I could handle making two payments.

    4. Three, but that was only because I forgot one was on its last payment. So it wasn't too bad. I have two right now, but one is also one payment away from being done. I knew I could swing it for the two overlapping payments.

    5. 5 and it was the most stressful time ever! It all got way out of hand and I will never do more then one layaway from now on. Needless to say I am now broke and learnt my lesson. :sweat

    6. Two at once was my limit and I am very glad that was it. It's important to stay in control. Easier said than done, I know =). Actually I believe BJD companies are much more flexible than most others. My grand aunt used to have a live-in full time nurse from Romania who would travel back to her country every two months. When she was away, a different nurse (also from the same village) was supposed to get her checks to the bank to pay off her layaway with a big mail-order company. However, she forgot and when the original nurse returned, she was already two months behind in her layaway payments. The company sued her right away and with every week, her debts would grow till the got almost unmanageable. She had to ask her employer to lend her the money and ended up having to work off her debts. I have always been on time with my layaway payments but was still shocked when I heard about this.

    7. One at a time! I almost put a second one on layaway recently, but with a baby on the way... I need to keep it simple!
