1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Your partner and your BJD...

Feb 27, 2011

    1. Between my hubby and I we have 14 dolls. We share them, but there are 4 that are pretty much his. :)

    2. My husband has no real interest in them. I think he thinks I'm nuts, but he accepts them as a quirk of mine. So he is pretty cool about it. :)

    3. my boyfriend (i have him for almost 5 years now) is very friendly and buys me sometimes something for my dolls, too! He likes how happy i am and he accept it, because it makes me happy :) He's collecting cars as well and so he collects something, too and i'm fine with his cars.. so we had never problems! :)

    4. My ex-boyfriend were very against the dollies hobby of mine so while we were together I can't show my interest and share with him. A month after we broke up, I bought myself my first doll. Now I show everyone my interest in dollies and will choose a next-boyfriend who have the same interest in dollies or open-mind guy who don't think my dolls are creepy. ^^

    5. My partner and I both collect dolls, so it works out just great! She and I role play together and we base our dolls on our role play characters. She also likes cute, smaller dolls, and I have a thing for outlandish/fantasy dolls (like dragons, mermaids, etc). We always ask each other, "Which wig do you prefer?" and "Do you like these eyes?" when planning a purchase, and give each other feedback, and help each other find things.

    6. It really is wonderful fun to be in a relationship with someone who loves the hobby as much as you do. We bought our first dolls together, and have helped each other find and put together each doll we have. But yes, I do prefer cuter dolls and frillier fashions. But she accepts my girls, and I've made sure to point out whenever I find a fantasy doll she might want to add to her list.

We're constantly showing each other wigs and eyes, and asking what the other thinks. And I'm happy to be able to help her with things she has difficulty with, like restringing.

    7. That's a good point, dollbaby! I'm chicken to do mechanical things like that, and I feel a lot safer entrusting that sort of task to you, even if it's your first time doing things like that too. Plus I know how well-read you are on the subject, and I trust your knowledge over mine when it comes to the safest companies to order from and the best way to handle and care for dolls. Thank you again for fixing Ash!

    8. Well, my partner got me IN to the hobbie in the first place. She got a 60cm Obitsu and about 5 months later I got my first doll. She's got 4 dolls and I'm about to get my forth as well. Its really wonderful to be in the hobby together. I love her and all her dollies! It also nice not having ot try and explain things like I have to do with my other family!

    9. It's a wonderful feeling to be able to talk freely about your hobby with your partner. I have other interests that we don't share, and they tend to get pushed to the wayside, so when it comes to BJDs, as well as other shared hobbies, it's great to talk and work together on things fully with the person you love.

It's also great to be able to help each other. I'm happy to be there to help do things that she's scared to do, and to come to her aid whenever something doesn't go right. You're very welcome, little one!

    10. My partner is sorta okay with it. She thinks a lot of them look creepy (the somewhat realistic dolls with proportions that don't actually fit humans properly squick her out a bit. Uncanny valley anyone?) There are a few she really likes as well, but she can't justify spending that sort of money on a toy, and I respect that. She respects that I want one, as long as I don't go overboard.

    11. As Reveta said, we do share the hobby together, we each have 4 dolls, and we'll probably have two shared ones (one for sure and another we're still talking about). It's great being able to share this hobby with my partner because I love her and my dolls, and her dolls are great too. Though one of them is a bit of a handful (literally) and only likes my doll Melody, and has a crush on Reveta's other doll Magnar...

    12. Iza, several people have a crush on Magnar. Lol. And yes I agree it's really wonderful to get up each morning and talk about doll stuff. Go on walks together ect <3~

    13. It took me a long time for me to ease my boyfriend into accepting my hobby, but now he's adorable and suggests how to take photos, etc. He always jokes about how he hopes one day I'll stop being interested in dolls, but I think he understands that won't be any time soon!

    14. At first my boyfriend didn't really get it and he wasn't that supportive of me getting one. But when Bjorn came home and he actually got to hold and touch him, Ryan was much more interested in the hobby. Now he is pushing me to find a Soom Dune for "myself".

    15. I somehow convinced my fiance to also get a doll!
I had him watch The Doll Master, a Korean movie, with me.
He instantly had to have one!

We just bought our first, together, a few nights ago.
      And we're so excited. c:

      It's weird. Because.
Even though I know people have a wiiide variety of hobbies,
and I'm no different. This is just a little bit of a stretch in some aspects!
He's a pilot-in-training, and doesn't seem the kind of guy to have a doll.
BUT on the other hand, he does collect figurines.
Star Wards, anime, etc. He is nerdy, and weird.
Just, not the type of guy to get a doll. c:
      So, it makes me happy.

    16. My boyfriend is very tolerant of my hobby. The only part he doesn't like is how much space they take up (and I respect that by keeping them in their boxes most of the time, because most of my dolls currently live at his place).

      I do think he sometimes wishes that I had a cheaper hobby, though >.>;

    17. just wanted to let you now the dolls in that movie are customhouse (now Aidolls) Mina and Demian.

    18. My boy actually fell a bit in love with Alyss when she got here (Pukipuki Flora)

But yes. He's good with it.

    19. my boyfriend bougth me my first doll (a senior delf full set) and it made me super happy, it was like the best present I've ever got.... sadly we broke up 5 months ago.
in the future I would also like a boyfriend who is as supportive as my ex was n.n

    20. My boyfriend finds them abit creepy but if i ask him to hold one or help carry stuff to a doll meet he is always willing to help out;)
