Your partner and your BJD...

My boyfriend of 8 years kind of giggles at me everytime I play with them, but otherwise he's supportive of me and my dolls.

 

Lucky for me my girlfriend loves BJDs too. Lucky because I have been talking about them constantly lately XD. It's just been so exciting waiting for my new doll to arrive. And now that she's here and I'm so happy with her I've been wanting to talk about her, and her clothes, and her wigs, and face up plans. And my girlfriend has been very indulgent of me with that, bless her heart :P. She also wants to get her own BJDs some day and we love to share our plans with each other and links to awesome outfits and stuff like that.

 

my boyfriend is really supportive if it wasn't for him i probably wouldn't have been able to get a doll but he helped me save up and get one theres dolls he would like if he had more money one day i hope he gets a doll.

 

My boyfriend isn't into dolls, doesn't understand the fascination, but doesn't really care either way. I show him what I make and he gives me comments about it and shows a little interest and talks to me about it, the same way he does about my knitting and other hobbies he isn't that into, and the same way I do for him about his coding and other hobbies. So he is supportive without being especially interested, and that's fine with me, we have plenty of hobbies in common, and having our own individual ones is a good thing, I don't need to do EVERYTHING the same as he does.

 

I think I'm slowly getting into a relationship but I'm not sure. The guy I just started dating doesn't really mind me having dolls. He thinks they all look like girls. I don't think he's too concerned about them.

 

My relationship is only three months strong but he's perfectly okay with them He's not interested in them so I don't bring them up often, kind of wish he was more interested in them mais c'est la vie, j'aime toujours mon copain

 

Don't have anyone at the moment but two of my exes were fine with my dolls. One bought me one and the other was planning to help me make a doll. The other didn't really care much about them.

 

my boyfriend is really nice and supportive with this hobby, when I finished my first custom he was really impressed. He doesn't really care about the dolls I want but I always share my new discoveries with him.

 

My husband loves my dolls and thinks it is good for me to have a hobby I love!

 

My husband helps me to craft and photography my dolls.

 

I always ask my husbands opinion on which dolls to get and he helps with photo shoots.

 

My boyfriend thinks the dolls are creepy, but he thinks most of my hobbies are creepy lol. He doesn't mind them though and he's happy that I enjoy them.

 

My boyfriend was indifferent at first, he found them interesting but didn't see how some people could spend thousands on a doll, but he could see how people would find him weird for how much he spends on his cars. Shortly after I purchased my doll he decided to join me and get one of his own. Which wasn't too big of a jump for him since we would play with model cars together. He's not as amused with the dolls as I am but he likes them and is planning to get more with me. Our daughter also has an OT plastic doll. As much as she tells me she wants them I can't justify a 3yr old having a resin doll lol. So it's become a fun family thing and my mother joined in as well.

 

I recently got my doll and I get the feeling I still have to prove I'm serious about it (as in continuing the hobby).
I don't mind him not being that into the doll. He accepts my interest .
I think what he want most is for me to enjoy myself and get relaxed (since I tend to stress out from my work :p).
If it's by playing with a doll (mainly trying to make her clothing) that's fine by him .

 

I was with my boyfriend before I got my first doll.
He thought I was silly for it but he still bought me my first doll anyway.
He's pretty supportive of it and gives an opinion when I ask, most of the time. xD
I think the only really issue he has is when they don't have any eyes. >.<

My boyfriend is also really supportive of my dolls.
When searching online for a doll, my boyfriend gave me a lot of advise, because I had the tendency of falling in love with every doll.
(I still do, but I know have rules that makes it a lot easier for me to decide)

On valentine's day, we were celebrating our 7,5 year anniversary and I wanted to swing by the dollshop while we were travelling.
Totally falling in love with Ardith there, I spent 3 hours, playing with her, dressing her up, trying eyes and wigs. And he simply waited for me.
I was in doubt whether I should buy her, because she was a little out of my price range, but he advised me to buy her and saying he would contribute 1/4 of price.
I'm very glad I bought her that day.

My boyfriend has always been really supportive of me too. Even though he isn't at all interested in these kinds of things on his own, he'll always help me out when I need it. He helped me restring mine, and fix some problems that I couldn't figure out on my own. He also comes along with me into doll shops when we see them (heck, once I wasn't planning on it because I didn't think I should do that to him, but he suggested it!) and he even came to CCBJD with me even though I wasn't planning on asking him to. Hmmm~ I think I'm pretty lucky to have such a supportive and helpful boyfriend! Reading all these comments and stories makes me happy that other people do, too

 

My sister is supportive with this hobby.
She helps me to photography my dolls.

 

My boyfriend of 5 years thinks it is a stupidly expensive hobby. He doesn't really get it but respect it.
He doesn't forbid me or against me buying and playing with these dolls because he himself spends a lot of money on other toys like Legos and video games.
I don't really tell him how much money I actually spend on these dolls, though...
