1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Your postman's opinion?

Jul 9, 2005

    1. My postman was suprised that a doll can cost that much and found it amazing and said thats not just a toy :)

    2. My postman doesn't know or care about my dolls, but he did make a lot of little grumbling comments about how many registered packages I get (mostly packets of doll clothing and shoes; he's never had to bring a heavy doll box to me as they send those around earlier in the morning via truck.) My property is on quite a slope and there is a massive set of stone steps that goes down to the street where my mailbox is. I found out that the reason he was being so grumpy about the registered mail is that every time there was a package I needed to sign for, which is often, that meant a trip up my hill for him... and he has really bad knees, so my big stairs were actually painful for him. The post office is only like 3 blocks from my house anyway, so I just called the postmaster and asked him to make a standing arrangement that any time I get registered mail my carrier should just leave me a pink slip and I will go collect all my packages from the post office myself from now on. That's worked out great (aside from being known at the post office as the girl who comes in all the time for the weird little international packages :P).

    3. My post lady is pretty awesome having to deal with all the stuff I order. She gave me an incredibly funny look however when she brought my Soom Amber, though I suppose the outside saying "Dolls of my Secret" would bring up a lot of questions xD.

    4. Our postman I don't think knows really as packages come in and out of our house all the time but when I go to the post office to ship things international and have the description on the form the counter clerk has gotten to know me for sending/receiving strange doll parts lol

    5. My mail carrier was pissed once because he knocked and put up a notice without giving me time to answer the door (no idea how he escaped so fast) so I had it redelivered and crashed on the couch so I could pounce on it. He apparently wasn't pleased about having to redeliver it and was pretty rude about it. Let me answer the door the first time and I won't make you come back! I did a carrier pickup for a product return with him a few weeks later and he was in a much better mood, though, sometimes people just have an off day and my apartment is a little hard to find. I want to give him a bottled drink or a tip or something for trekking all the way down here but I have no idea how to approach that sort of thing.

The DHL guy is great, though. The last time I had a really big doll box delivered he asked me if it was a hoverboard and we had some entertaining banter about those things while he hung around for a sec so I could take pics of the box.

Nobody ever really asks me what the stuff is.

    6. The lady who works at my local post office is really nice. She and the manager are both very curious whenever I bring in group order packages and were very intrigued when I explained what this hobby is all about. She has even called my postman (who has a history of not being very good) to check up where he is on his route when I'm waiting for a particular doll package.
