It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Your postman's opinion?

Jul 9, 2005

1. my Postlady is really nice and takes very good care of my packages, I told her a while ago that they were dolls and finally just a month or so ago when she arrived with yet another package I took my Beryl out to show her just what was in all these big boxes..she was quite impressed.

2. Well I normally as I posted before have a really good experience with the post office not the carriers. The other day the Grumpy guy that works every now and again was there and of course I got him. He has that I hate it here, I want to leave go away vibe to him. There were NO customer beside me and one last filling something out and I walked up handed him a small box all ready to go ( it was a head) he throws it on the scale and is like what do you want with it..... I told him Insurance, tracking and 1st class shipping. He got mad and said you know this box is really too small for these labels. I looked at him and I had had it mind you. I said funny it came to me with postage and all the rest.
He just grumbled and put the labels on poor man had to turn the box -_-.

Needless to say I hate getting the grumpy man he make you want to punch something when you leave.

3. This is an interesting read. Sorry if it's not allowed to comment on old threads.

I was curious why the postal workers leave a slip on your door without even knocking on your door first. So that you miss a doll box delivery even when you are home. They have to get out of the truck to leave the slip on your door so why not just bring the doll 0_o
According to this thread it's very, very common.

My postman Michael is great, especially since we give him $20 at the holidays and a thank you note. It's the sub who delivers the mail on his days off. Always with the green slip "sorry we missed you" grrrr

4. LOL LOL The people at my post office, where I have my PO box, now always ask me when I'm getting another package LOL One lady there is very interested, & I actually brought one of the dolls in to show her what was in all those boxes I kept getting :D

5. I once had my postman ask "Did you buy all of Asia??" XD' I guess he thought it was heavy ^^"

6. What a funny stories, I laugh really hard with your Kurisu.

My postman is really nice, he is used to bring me packages by now (not only dolls, and also things for my parents), and he always asks me if I need help with carrying it inside home, and sometimes he asks me about the content. He is very nice, and he has never left me a note and not the package when I'm home.
But the postlady that carries the packages during summer... she is of another kind. She is not nice at all. She carries the packages as it doesn't matter what is inside, sometimes she doesn't even knock and she leaves that damn note. It's very frustrating.

7. My post lady is really sweet. She doesn't know the details of the dolls, but she knows I'm always excited to get things for them. In the time she's been bringing me things, we've become casual friends, in a way, and often talk about more than just mail delivery. I guess the dolls can bring you friends that aren't in the hobby!

As for the lady working at the PO, she's the only one that works in our tiny PO, so she's always the one dealing with me. She's an older lady, and her mother collected the old European strung dolls, long before BJDs as we know them existed, so I guess we sort of have that weird little bond there over them. :)

8. I'm honestly not usually around when my postman brings my packages (though there was a run where three packages corresponded with three days off and I think he started to think I was unemployed... :sweat). Thankfully, for the most part, when I AM around, he's become very good at actually delivering to me! Though to be fair, that's a recent development for the last year or so... unfortunately, I kind of had it out with him last year, when I had a batch of held mail being delivered a day when I was home and he basically never even tried knocking! I went down to the post office and complained in person, so they called him and made him stop in his route so I could meet him and get my mail. (He claimed he knocked, but admitted it wasn't very loud.)

Ever since, he's been really good at bringing those big doll boxes up to me. :) Though he hasn't made any comments about all the boxes from Korea. (The guy at the post office, however, was quite entertaining when I picked up the last one, and he just had to read the label dramatically. "SOOOOOM!")

9. Only having had one BJD arrive since I've moved house the postman hasn't yet been overly exposed to the extent of my purchasing power! That said though he did pretend that the box was inordinately heavy with silly staggering about before he handed it to me! :)

10. Yep! I've talked to mine about customizing dolls and everything. He started to ask questions after I blurted out things like "Hurray! The body is here!" lol

11. The elderly man at the post office by my old house liked me and the dolls. At first he thought they were porcelain haha

12. My postman never really asks what I'm getting, maybe because most of the BJD packages I get are from Soom and say "Dolls of my secret" on them XD But he always goes out of his way to deliver packages for me, he is really awesome. Never complains when he has to carry large doll boxes up three flights of stairs and even makes notes that show up on the online tracking if the box looks damaged. I didn't even know postal workers could do that!

13. Although I've had the problem of being in all day waiting and never getting a knock or ring, just a notice in the mailbox... I've also had some really helpful postmen.

I left a note for one, saying I was expecting a big package, but I couldn't be there... he signed for me and left the box in my garage because it was raining! I LOVED him! Made sure to leave a Christmas gift, even though I'm unsure of when they are on the route or if they have others come by to do it some days...

He asked what I was buying at some point and I told him. He was the only postman who I knew by name.

14. Hahaha , i wonder what's going on inside his head :D

15. Let's just say the mailing system here is a struggle between life and death. First all my packages have to make it through customs, that usually takes atleast a month. A bomb package would get through easily but a resin doll? Don't count on it. Then the delivery service charged with the delivery of the package (it usually varies) doesn't even bother coming to the door and just throws a 'not-at-home' slip into the mailbox. Staring at them through the window or going outside and making wild gestures to demonstrate your home doesn't do it either. There's no way they'll spare you a minute of their time, you should instead spend more than an hour of your time to go pick up your package at a random location. Not only that, you get to pay a hefty custom fee as well before you get to actually touch your package.

Needless to say it's really putting me off on the whole BJD hobby. I get to be scared out of my mind everytime I order a doll. Will it arrive safely? And if it does, how many times will it have been re-boxed? How much fees will I have to pay? I feel very frustrated and unhappy everytime...

There is one elderly lady at the post office where I sometimes have to pick up light packages such as wigs. She's quite nice and helpful but only to an extent, don't ask her to go out of her way. She probably dislikes me because I'm getting all these weird Asian packages...

16. my postman is very nice, and not surprised at all, because I receive and shipping packages of all sizes, and always brings me home :)

17. My postman knows about my dolls and I think enjoys bringing me the large boxes because of how excited I get. He asks about certain things and is just awesome. When regular mail-no dolly stuff comes, he says "sorry, nothing good today!".

I'm moving and I'm going to miss my postman!

18. I honestly wouldn't know. My packages usually just are left there on the stoop, or in the very rare case where I had quite a haul (I had swap stuff, I had a package from my father, and I had a floating head come in (my Kazumi)) it was a pile and one of the packages was shoved into the bushes. I fail to understand why shoving my package into the bush was a good idea but... Their not really smart out here. I think the only times I ever had them come to the door with my dolls was when I got one of my hybrid girls' body in, the guy had JUST delivered my mail, went back to his truck, saw my package and rushed back. His exact words were: "Sorry for bothering you but I almost missed this!" And I was SO relieved. Second, he just had me sign for it and that was my Resinsoul Bei. Avalon (my RS Song) was LATE, I was seriously freaking out because his tracking didn't update for three days until he showed up on my porch and my father brought him in.

My other dolls I've been, I'm not kidding anyone, dead asleep every single time except for one or two different times where I knew they were coming in and was up waiting. But among other things... My postmen seem to hate me as these are where my packages wound up at times:

Shoved into a snowbank.

On my BACK porch (an OT Dal and my then new Kindle Touch) (This one was shockingly delivered at 8 PM at NIGHT.)

In the neighbor's (my uncle's) mailbox! My dad saw it in there and got it out but geeze! The guy had to walk PAST my doorstep to get to my uncle's gated yard! How hard was it to check the freakin' address?

In the bushes.

And I actually had over Christmas had a package THROWN at my back door. It was hard enough that I was starting to dial 911 as it sounded like someone had tried to kick my door down. I looked out the window, package was there. This package was thrown, there was no way for someone to climb in and out of that yard as the gate is locked tight and the fence is tall and wooden. This guy just threw it at my backdoor and ran off. No knocking, just enough force to scare the crud out of me and almost break the screendoor. Any harder and it would've shattered it.

While I've had ALL of my dolls arrive safe and sound knock on wood, I've never had experiences like postmen actually asking about my dolls. Most act as if their job is a pain and if they have a package duck. They'll throw it unless it's the UPS guys. They know how to do it right and at least drop it off on the stoop.

19. Postmen in the Philippines are becoming rare species nowadays. For parcels, you need to get it personally from the main office whichever region you are located. This is kinda annoying when they send you a card that you have a parcel blah blah blah and they give you a month to pick it up. Ugh, they should just bring it to my house. So sad, really.

20. Maybe I'm weird, but I don't think what I get in the mail is any business of my postman. I'm not friends with him or anything. Maybe if I did chat with him it would be different. But ours never stops to chat and never asks questions.

As for the person who said their postal carrier told her neighbors about her personal information, it's no wonder that person doesn't deliver her mail any more. If that had been my mail carrier, I would have filed a police report and had her charged with slander. It's against the law in this country. And if I'd been her boss I would have definitely fired her.

The person who always questions what I get in the mail is my room mate. She can't understand why I keep getting little packages from China (I order a lot of little items like shoes and wigs). I never tell her what's in the packages. She doesn't think owning dolls is appropriate for an adult, so I don't tell her what I buy.
Maybe that sounds harsh, but she's not open to the idea of dolls at all, so why set myself up for criticism.
