A healer, originally from Praha. He met Vrái, and ended up returning with him to Norway. He's a bit of an outcast in Hardangerfjord, especially since his medicine looks more like witchcraft than anything and his Norse is still rather rough. But he has a loving family, so he's doing all right.

☠ And All Flesh Died that Moved Upon the Earth ☠

Otakar Nepovím is a doctor in an era of divided religion. More than that, though, is why he was branded a heretic by the Holy Roman Empire: he is one of the few who can interact with the anima, the universal life force. With this ability, he is able to do things no one else can – heal the wounded, cure the sick, and save those the church claimed without hope. And there are many of these people. A plague is sweeping through the empire, one which causes fever and sleep – and then, when the victims wake, they begin to rot.

Otakar is one of the few who can save the city. Though he tried to avoid the long arms of the church, he could not hide from them forever, and he was eventually caught. He was brought to the execution block in the middle of Prague – and then, to the shock of all, he disappeared.

None are more shocked than the executioner himself, Vít. But it is not long until they meet again. Vít found Otakar, still bleeding from the attempted execution, and close to death. Instead of killing him, Vít brings him home. Slowly, they learn to trust each other... and trust turns to love.

Though Otakar considers himself a scientist, it's more a kind of alchemical magic. He is from Prague, but has spent the last ten years studying medicine at the University of Paris. He speaks French, German, Greek and Latin in addition to Czech. Due to a number of unusual quirks, he finds it difficult to befriend people, and tends to focus heavily on his studies. However, he has a deep, unwavering faith in mankind. He enjoys reading and talking to Vít. His favourite animal is the crow.
