It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. 2.:lol::lol: Yup! I love them so!

    3. Ahhh my beautiful Uriel head finally came in! After trying him on my current Impldoll body, I realized that while the head size would work with the broader shoulders, the face is too tiny for such a large body... So I'll be ordering a Granado body next round. ^_^

But my question is... what kind of eyes do you guys use for your Granado heads? I got a pair of small iris eyes with a 5mm iris, and they look a bit too large and innocent for the character (Bucky Barnes). I think Secret Art Studio can make 12mm eyes with a 4mm iris, but is there anything else?

    4. Hey, all you darling Granada folk. I'm looking to shell my two main squeezes from my first novel, and Fairyland, the only company I've dealt with thus far, makes nothing realistic enough for them. Not even the Chiclines, with their comic book proportions, would work, if they were available.

So...I'm kinda falling in love with the Adagio bodies, small and large. I'd have to mod one of them for my very slender gymnast, but that's OK. What I'd like to know...are they as beautiful at posing as what the site suggests? And re: the 75cm how do the heads work on dolls that are 5cm taller than the dolls they were originally sculpted for?

And finally, since I'm looking at getting two of these, possibly in size humongous, I'd like to get in on their 10th anniversary sale. Can you buy just the bodies and hold out to purchase a head you like better separately? All the sculpts that would work for these two aren't being offered anymore. Sigh. I'll be modding them (Except Shadow would work very well as is for Stephen, if I went with the 32cm) to be My Boys, but I need to start with something oversized enough to whittle down.

Any advice would really be welcome.

SteamWitch...told you years ago you were going to suck me into this company....(edit)ARGH!!!!! You've got a Shadow coming! Don't tell me I just missed him? I'm officially in mourning...

    5. Oh...any of you who have the 30-32cm bodies...just how hard are they to sew for? My Wiishu demands new clothing all the time, and he's shorter, but his body is on a part with the 40cm ChicLines. Seems like tailoring for the 30cm would be...a challenge.

Argh. Another question. All these resin colors...are they just skin deep or can I modify without turning parts of them white?

    6. It may not be directly helpful but I have a fair number of 30cm boys although they're not Granado. I have Soom Fairies (Auber & Boehm), Lume Lights (Koit & Blaze), an Akhmel Nathan, Obitsu (Kayura), Batchix Clever Littles and Argonautica Little Kio. In full disclosure, neither the Akhmel nor Argonautica boy wear clothes beyond a loin cloth modesty sort of thing.

Sewing is a touch more challenging because you need to choose lighter weight fabric and give yourself as small a seam allowance as you can get away with. I'll typically use 1/8" and blanket/overlock the seam (I sew all my guys clothes by hand). Fabric with patterns can be challenging to get the scale right for them. In-scale buttons can be a total PITA to find. You might luck out on some Ken clothes that fit or... Peter Pensive? (not sure of the last name).

My Granado boy is the 53cm Lucifer and I adore that size. If they were to offer it as a regular or even semi-regular choice I might be in serious trouble. He poses well but I'm also very undemanding of my boys so I'm likely of little help on that issue.

    7. @Vindalootoo so I can only answer a couple of your questions. :) They have all the bodies-only available for sale on the 1st-3rd of every month, but not at the discount price if I'm reading it right. Also, the resin color goes all the way through, so you can sand it. As a bonus, it seems to be resistant to yellowing. :)

    8. We have a thread for Granado's tiny guys. https://denofangels.com/threads/granado-tiny-doll-discussion.773309/ I have all three of the different bodies now. It will be similar to sewing for Wiishu in needing thinner materials for draping correctly. Join us over there.

    9. Thank you, I will!

Darn, I'll definitely check that out. It would kind of defeat the purpose to making the decision now. 20 percent off is really just the price of the head. Sigh.

      :D

And thanks for the advice on sewing! I've been doing Wiishu's YosD clothes since he came home (he loves to cosplay at SF conventions) so I'm fairly familiar with the problems, but it sounds doable.

    10. I've seen people say this for years and it's never made sense to me. The color is blended into the resin before it's cast, not added on afterwards (which would increase production time and labor costs), of course the color would go all the way through.
Are there actually any companies that color resin after it's cast? I've never heard of any, but I'm always learning new stuff about BJDs and the processes of making them, so that doesn't mean much I suppose
technically, you can sand all resin, it's just less noticeable on some types of resin than others ;) (and it's good to know Granado uses one of the easier to sand types, I really like the new bodies but they're much too vein-y for me)

    11. @Girrl waaaaaaay back in the day some companies used to do tanned resin by applying a colour coating on the surface of the doll after it had been cast. This wasn't blushing but an attempt to offer tanned/darker skinned dolls. If you wanted to sand the doll, you'd be removing that colour. To the best of my knowledge companies don't do that now and all colours are made/blended before casting.

    12. I'm back again with silly questions. Is the Adagio 70 they're offering new? And if so, has anyone heard if the Adagio 75 ballet feet and hands will work on him? I've had a query in to the company, but no answer.

Update! I heard back from them and they said thanks and they've added the ballet feet to the order page.

Ok...trying to order and on the Adagio 70 they're asking about neck size. I went to the model's page and if you click on a sculpt, under "body type" there are limited options. I assume I look at the sculpts I like and if they're all "Evol" I choose the smaller neck size? My guy has a skinny neck, anyway... :D

    13. @Vindalootoo if you scroll down the Adagio 70 page it says the neck size for Evol is the larger neck size.

    14. You're all going to think I haven't a brain in my head. I WISH they'd group the models according to their associated body(ies). I try to go through this vast grouping of "models" and the minute you click on a sculpt to find out which body it goes to, then try to go back, it sends you clear back to the first page of models. Aw, well. I'm not seeing any currently available models for the smaller neck size. Good thing you can buy the heads independently! :D

      Thanks for your patience.

    15. I don't like the way their pages are set up either and wish they'd have them in easily identifiable size groupings. It makes it hard to navigate. I find myself going to dealers sites like Legend Doll and looking up stuff there because they organize them by size categories. I'd order direct from Granado but it's a bit of a pain to have to go to a completely different site first.

    16. That's a really good idea. Having dealt only with Fairyland and not very much there, I went in knowing exactly what I wanted and just ordered, I'm easily thrown. The newest problem is in all these options for skin tone. I intend to adjust it a lot with body blush and faceup, but I'd like to begin with a proper relative undertone. After lifting the little bodies off the skin comparison page and putting them on different layers, I put them all side by side, moving them about, and finally made a decision: New Normal for my pale Stephen, and Windfresh (with anticipated bronzing) for my outdoorsy, blond Wesley. I went to place the order...and they called it Windfresh WHITE! I mean, what are they thinking? In the comparison shot, it's definitely just called Windfresh, and is a deeper tone than the NN. So...I sent them another message. Sigh...they're gonna hate me. But since I'm looking at a pretty big order, I really don't want to make a mistake.

Oh...to people who have bought the larger bodies in both neck sizes, is it just the size of the neck that's different? i.e., is it something that could actually be sanded down if the head I finally find works is for one of the more facile bodies? Or would it be better to get the more slender neck and mod the head? Or (worst case scenario) is the actual fitting different?

They just have way too many options for someone who has trouble choosing dinner from a menu she knows by heart.

    17. I love the colour options. I have a deadly weakness for coloured resin, grey in particular (I have 13 grey dolls). Liroshan (53 Lucifer) is in syringa, which is grey with purple undertones. I'd love to have one of their chocolate skins. If they were to do another 53cm with a different head sculpt I'd have a hard time resisting hitting the buy button.

Someone in my local group has a Vindoll in the bronze shade and he's just gorgeous. The shade is very rich and I honestly didn't realize he wasn't resin until the owner told me. It was shocking how light he was when I was expecting a heavy hunk of resin.

    18. @Iron_Dog - I'd love another 53cm too. It's such a nice size to paint and handle. Syringa would be sooo sexy. ;)

    19. 53 Ninth and Shadow would be :D

    20. @petiteballerine I love the 50-ish cm size. Portable like an MSD but more of an SD in feel. They're a pain if you want to dress them off the rack because of their odd size but since I sew all the clothes for my guys that's not an issue for me. Shoes.... the less said the better.

I need to take more photos of Liroshan. He's so pretty. Here he is with his husband, Sancire (Soom ID51 London).
