Mature 1/6 Dolls - part 3

Mar 3, 2020

    1. thank you, that would be great! I am also wondering if maybe a 2-3 would fit if it has enough stretch. I was able to find several aimed at "amelia thimble" But I had never heard of her before...and now I want her too. Ugh! lol

    2. Lily measures 3.25 inches or 8.3cm. Parabox has some 3.5 S (small) wigs that would probably work.
      [PARABOX Online shop]

I have some 9cm wigs that might work and I will try them on when I find them!

to measure the head, I cut a narrow strip of paper and wrap it arround the head from the forehead to the nape of the neck and just above the ears. I mark the paper where it overlaps and then measure the paper.

    4. Hello, I hope its the right place to ask. I'm looking for more dolls like Little monica's Muse Harmony, do you know any tiny mature dolls? the mature tiny doll 26-28 cm :) i really want to get one but all dolls i found are childlike, and im looking for mature doll

    5. You're in the right place! This is the thread for tiny dolls (usually between 25-32cm) with adult bodies. If you look through the thread you'll see pictures and links to lots of dolls like that. :)

    6. There are so many companies and places to get more mature-looking dolls in the 20-30cm range! I don't know what kind of face you're looking for @Myska but there is QUITE the list, especially for girls. Some places to start:
These are just a few I thought of off the top of my head that are easily available/not currently sold out. If you look through this thread and Part 1 and Part 2, you'll definitely find more!

    7. I'm spamming my first "mature" tiny BJD, I own other BJD, but when I got mine mature 30-something-cm dolls weren't a thing. Otherwise, that's all I would own. (:

My Myou Bettina on a the 3-part-torso-male-body.

He is holding the super cool-looking Ken Elephant Red Wing gashapon shoe figures, but they sadly don't fit. They are around 1cm too small to work. I feel like the Real Littles Sneakers might fit, but I'll need to make socks for him before I try them on. Because my doll has blushed feet and painted nails. I have yet to try any 1:6 shoes on him, but I feel like the ones meant for males, will be too big and the ones for meant for females I don't own any, so... I'll share my findings whenever I try figure stuff on them.

Edit: I posted a few more photos of him, in the gallery thread here, because I wanted to share my progress of him. Now that he is "fully" blushed and made two wigs for him so far.

    8. He's lovely @Enzyme! I agree with you, if these had been around when I first got into the hobby they might have been all I ever owned--although they're most of what I have now! (And there IS something nice about the bigger dolls, I must admit.) You might have good luck with boots meant for action figure women (Phicen etc). Although they still might be a tad snug... Ken shoes are possibly a good bet? Ken's feet are slightly smaller than action figure type men. So they'd still be a bit big, but not ridiculously so.

    9. It's kind of weird, really - back around 2005-2008 there were a few mature tinies available. The original resin Unoa Lights, the Souldoll Littles, the original Limhwa ToYous, the original Soom Mini Gems - these were all available around that time and, in the Western world at least, they sank without a trace. They were still theoretically available for a few years but, one after another, the lines were quietly ended and the dolls removed from sale. I remember being super chuffed when the Lumedoll Lights were introduced because they were the first new mature tinies I'd seen in years.

We are so lucky that they're having a renaissance now and I hope it continues. I spent years scowling at the internet to find the old-school mature tinies that I own and now suddenly there are so many more!

    10. Wow, I didn't even know about a few of the lines you mentioned (the Soul Doll one was a surprise!) I'm kinda sad that Lumedoll doesn't seem to do the mature tinies anymore, they're more the aesthetic I was looking for in this size (a little more mature than, say, the MYou ones, though I have plans for an Alan and Gina at some point). I hope that some of the companies that used to have mature tinies give them another chance, it'd be great to see the Mini Gems or even the Lumedoll tinies come back in full force!

    11. As far as I know Eva (Lume Doll) has no plans to bring back the Light line of dolls which is a shame as they're wonderful. I have 3 of them (Koit, Blaze & Zero). I also have a Vita Magika boy and, in speaking with the artist (I literally bought the very last one she had), she said that she couldn't make more even if she wanted to as she no longer has the moulds. Not having the moulds is probably common for some of these guys considering their age and the lifespan of moulds.

    12. Aww, that's sad about the moulds! And about the Lume dolls, since they don't pop up secondhand much. Oh well, maybe an artist/company will come along and make some in similar proportions, it's difficult to find actually "mature" male tinies (I mostly collect guys)

    13. @MonochromeNocturne I feel your pain. I own 75 dolls and every single one is male. I was very fortunate to have gotten all 3 of my Lume boys 2nd hand. My Soom Fairy boys (I have 2) were also 2nd hand finds. Honestly, when I think about it, the majority of my mature tinies are 2nd hand. Mostly because I learned of them after they were discontinued or when they were available and I knew, I had no money to buy them.

My current mission impossible hunt is for a mature 1/12 guy to go with my Granado 15Lucent. I'm not even picky about whether it's cast resin or 3D resin printing. I've found females all over the place in that size that are pretty but I don't collect female dolls and have zero interest in doing so.

    14. I was actually looking around at mature 1/12 guys and was so sad by the lack of offerings! Hopefully, Granado makes more 15cm guys, they seem to be the only ones really doing that size/proportion. And yeah, girl dolls rarely interest me, they need to have something special about them or be a weird size for me to really want them, it seems. Out of the 34 dolls I currently have plans for, only 6 are girls

    15. I wonder why it seems so difficult to find mature boys over mature girls? There's obviously a desire for them.

I was delighted to see Granado come out with the 15Lucent. I ordered mine when they first offered him in January. Apparently they're done but Granado can't ship out right now because of the lockdown in Shanghai. I was happy to see that they're also now offering different head sculpts, too, with the current release. If they ever offer the 15Ascent in their darkest resin, I may be doomed.

    16. Thank you so much for your kind comments! I love smaller, more mature-looking dolls, since I was a young kid. I never got baby-dolls nor collected American Gilr (I wasn't ever into the aesthetics of child-looking dolls, which was what was mostly available for larger than Barbie-sized dolls when I was a young child). Perhaps it was due to my father being a scaled figure collector, that I always associated smaller mature dolls with "adult' collector toys, and the larger child-looking dolls, with kiddie toys. Regardless, I feel like my love for smaller dolls will always win over larger ones -- it doesn't help that I am short, scrawny and not older than dust! DX I would go for Ken shoes for sure, if not all of them were hard plastic. I prefer real cloth shoes, but because I am vegan I have to be careful about those as well, because a lot of the 1:6 shoes are actual leather (more so the ones based on real-life-military/history people). Thanks again for your comments! I will keep my eye on 1:6 female shoes I like, not many are meant for feet though, sot that's another issue. The good thing about all plastic shoes is you can drill them or cut the open, the down side is most meant for Western fashion dolls are not as realistic nor detailed as 1:6.

Regarding the mature tiny BJD available many moons ago; I was still in college when most were available. Importing Unoa dolls back then cost an arm and a leg, even the Unoa Lites, were if I recall, a huge expense I wasn't able (or willing) to spend. Again, I was still in college back then. I did miss on SoulDoll Kimmy back then, and I still regret it to this day, which was one of the main reasons why I went for a Myou mature tiny instead of an actually mature looking tiny like Granado. I don't want to do the same thing I did with Kimmy and pass these dolls again, when I can actually afford one now (they might get discontinued at any second, since they don't seem as popular as their toddlers). I am super tempted by the Granado males, but because their necks are so slim and their faces and proportions a bit more on the realistic side, I tend to be pickier with them. I hope since they update their bodies and dolls quite often, that they will make a 3-part-torso male body, with a wider neck. Then I will be in trouble, but I do sincerely hope I can own one of their mature male tinies one day. I mostly collect male action figures and BJD, because I collect a lot of female fashion dolls. I feel like they tend to be less popular outside of giant BJD males, because of the lack of fashion or accessory options available. There are tons of options for the females, but a limited number for the males, of anything outside "traditional" stuff, and even that is super limited. In general I feel people who are into BJD want the larger mature dolls more than other sizes, or in the other extreme the tinier babies. Like with Fairyland Chic Line, they were way ahead of their time, but there was no audience for them (I love my Rou, so thankfully, I was able to get one!). There are not a lot of mature dolls in smaller sizes, but the tinier mature ones do seem to be less popular -- which is kind of a blessing for me, at the same time that it is sad. I had heard/read that Gentaro Araki was planning on re-releasing Unoa Lites, but I kind of forgot about it and haven't checked back if he ever did or not -- I was tempted by the licensed ones released by Petworks, but I find them overpriced for what they are. I would be in for a Gentaro created one, for sure, if I had the funds at the time he released them.(:

    17. I have a FL Chicline, too (because of course I do). He's a gorgeous boy I also got 2nd hand. I have him paired with my MD 63cm Snake Demon. I know that sounds a bit weird but that version is more in proportion with the Chicline than an actual SD. I have been tempted by the MD mature tinies but have somehow resisted. I've also resisted getting one of the 30cm Granado boys and I'm not sure how I managed that.

    18. He did end up re-releasing the Lights--after a fashion. He made resin, open-eyed heads that go on the Petworks ABS bodies. Hal and Aki! They're off-topic for DoA, and not BJDs, but they're absolutely beautiful and I'm KICKING myself for missing the last order period. There's going to be another one sometime in the fall, if you're interested, according to Instagram/their website I think.

I did NOT resist getting one of the 30cm Granado boys... I have 3 of them right now, in fact. Granado is the current king of the mature men, I think. I'm sad that one of my favorite mature tiny makers--Compassion Doll--is no longer making dolls as far as I can tell. They were hard to get in the first place overseas, but wow were they beautiful. I have an Elvis I bought secondhand from someone here and he's so wildly beautiful. I've also got one of the Limhwa girls and a Unoa Azurite, again second hand. Most of my mature tinies are actually new! But not these. ;)

Xagadoll makes more mature men (Cyrus and Ken), too. I am mad at myself for sleeping on the MiniGems when Soom had them as steady sellers... I love all the boys they came out with for the fairy line, but I would also have loved them with human ears. (A Metato with human ears would scratch that Dia itch SO nicely.) All the retired lines have given me real FOMO with this size...

I'm super delighted with this Renaissance of mature 1/6 BJDs! The size is just so nice and manageable, and it's so fun to make or buy props for them... Now if only the shoe choices were better. ;)

    19. I got the open-eyed Lucent and I'll probably be using some very colourful language when I put his eyes in. They won't be the smallest I've installed given the size Granado says they are (3.5mm) but I have put 3mm into my Batchix Clever Littles and there was much swearing involved then so.... The smallest eyes are currently 2mm for my Akhmel Nathan. I am NEVER changing those unless I have an absolute moment of insanity.

Oh! in case people haven't seen it, Batchix did post recently on Insta with another head sculpt (I think) for her Clever Littles. Not sure when that would be released though. Or I might've read the post wrong about what the new look was for.
