Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Mature 1/6 Dolls - part 3

Mar 3, 2020

    1. Oh gosh, is she making dolls again? I know she stopped for a while and I was too scared to ask if she'd ever release the Clever Littles again (I think she said once that being asked stuff like that made her anxious/uncomfortable and I didn't want to be rude). Maybe my dreams of owning some aren't as far-fetched as I thought :eusa_pray

    2. I can't say 100% yes, but the Insta post was 5 days and there is a lovely tiny guy front and center that I don't recognize. However, take that with a HUGE helping of salt as I'm face-blind and literally don't recognize anyone (including myself sometimes *sigh).

    3. I think she is making dolls again! I don't believe it's a re-release of the existing Clever Littles, but she's working on dolls in a 1/6 scale. You can see some here, here, and here! (And other posts probably besides.) Nothing about preorder periods or anything yet, but she does post from time to time on IG!

    4. That's wonderful news! Though sad about the original Littles not coming back (I never see the preorder ones pop up secondhand), but the new dolls she's working on look super cute. Hopefully these will be up for an order at some point, the way she sculpts boys this size is so unique and right up my alley!

    5. I don't know if it's possible but Batchix might still have one or two of her "test cast" Clever Littles hanging around. It might not hurt to ask. They are not perfect as she cast them herself and was working the bugs out of the design at the time. Both of mine are of this variety. They're also in OOAK resin with one being seafoam green with subtle silver glitter and the other in light purple with subtle purple/blue glitter. You don't really notice the glitter unless they're in strong light.

    6. I sadly don't have any doll funds right now, but I do have some to sell that I've just not had a chance to pull out for pictures. I'll try and do that in the next week or two and maybe, if they sell fast, I could send her a DM to ask about them!

    7. The worst she can say is that she doesn't have any left. Good luck with gathering dolly funds. I think we're all in that constantly (money) leaking boat. There's always something with the dolls that requires cash (aside from the dolls themselves). I just spent several hours going through shops on Etsy looking for the specific colourway of mohair I want for the Lucent (which of course I couldn't find again). There was a bit of maniacal laughter a few times when the shipping was 4x the cost of the locks. Add in the dismal exchange on the Canadian dollar and my wallet is over there in the corner rocking back and forth and weeping softly.

    8. Where's a good place to get wigs for Myou Bettina?

    9. Idoru, Thank you for the info! I will go check Mr. Akari's social media, to see if I can learn more about their next ordering periods for the Unoa lights. I did see the Xagadolls mature tinies, but I find them a bit too child-like for me. I only got the Myou one because Alan reminds me so much of SoulDoll Little Kimmy, who I still wish I could have purchased. I'm a weirdo, so I could never purchase a BJD second hand now, I did get two DIM MNM second hand a million years ago, but that less-weird side of me has completely withered. I was always tempted by Dia when I was still heavily into BJDs, but I can't really get over the pinched together nose, although I was also tempted by Metato, I just can't really appreciate the sculpt if the nose is so thin. If it were a larger nose, I can always sand it down to my liking, but a thin nose... I rather just not own one. DX I was also tempted by Limhwa tinies, since I love the artists' work so much, but I just rather not own any female BJD anymore. It's a pain in the gut to sew clothes for females, and I rather make my life a little bit less hellish (I don't know how to sew, but I enjoy torturing myself to a certain degree).

Iron_Dog, I struggled a few minutes trying to get my Bettina's eyes in correctly with my shaky hands of doom. I can't say I am envious of trying to position 2mm eyes, in a doll smaller than 25cm. Good luck with your Lucent's eyes, I love their facial sculpts, but the thin necks keep holding me back (I'm a weirdo). (:

Flara, I can't say I know, because I like making my own wigs (though I suck at that amongst other things!), but the head size in inches is 4". You can search for wigs for dolls in sizes 3-4" or 4-5". I tried a Barbie sized wig on my Bettina, but it was 3" with no stretch, so that won't work. It has to be a stretchy cap, if you do get a Barbie sized one, and perhaps one that's specifically around 4" and not any less. I feel like wig sellers now use cm to size wigs if you are shopping from Asian sellers, so look at Myou's measurements from their website, if you are shopping from an Asian seller. Most Western doll accessory sellers still use inches to size wigs. I hope that helps a little.

    10. If you check back through this thread, there are a lot of suggested places to get wigs that size! ;) ForMyDoll, Doll-Wig.com, Parabox, Mudoll... These are just a few I thought of off the top of my head! (Although to be honest, like @Enzyme I make my own wigs too. It's been very rewarding for me.) You'll have to do some hunting to find the ideal source for you!

Unrelated, but I took Aura and Des out to the park a few weeks ago and this is one of my favorite shots. It's been a while since I've posted pictures, so I figured I'd spice up my post a bit. ;)

    11. Frmpf. I was going to take some pictures of my tinies because they are long overdue, but as I picked up one of the Souldoll Littles there was this miniscule atmospheric shift that I could feel in my fingertips and then the doll's arms both fell off. So!

That turned into a restringing session that got bigger because I discovered that the Souldoll Littles were originally strung with masses of plain ol' rubber bands. That Will Not Do. Fortunately I had some 2mm elastic on hand. He's now restrung, his wig has been washed and put up to dry, and his boots have been treated with vinyl conditioner to hopefully stave off Pleather Disease. (His lovely pleather jacket crumbled when his arms fell off, so I guess he's getting a new outfit once his wig has dried. Noooohohohooooo his jacket was so niiiiiice.) Maybe pictures... some day. Eventually. Sheesh.

@Idoru, they really are a lovely couple! I have to say, though, just looking at his tiny glasses makes me somewhat anxious - so tiny and delicate! And my fingertips are so big and clumsy! I feel like I'd twitch once and send them flying across the room to get lost in the carpet. :sweat

    12. @Gallye Thank you! Actually they stay on surprisingly well? I managed to bend the arms of them in such a degree that they aren't constantly getting knocked askew/off. I've even put him in a bag to carry to the park (to take those pictures in fact) and they needed to be gently nudged into place but were still on his head! I can shake him around. It's astonishing. They are SUPER delicate though... They're Azone PureNeemo glasses, and I'm so glad those come two to a sheet so I don't have to cry if I lose this pair. :'D I used wire-shaping pliers and the edge of my drafting table to bend them into shape and held my breath the entire time.

Also: that sounds like SUCH an adventure, dang! And not the good kind. I hope you DO take pictures of him, because you rarely see the Souldoll Littles... but ouch. Rubber bands... I'm astonished they held up this long! I've had some just in my stationary drawer that have become brittle in less time than I'd wager those have been in your boy.

    13. Thank you so so much <3

    14. I can finally share in this thread instead of lurking!

I got a MissMian/Whispering Garden Liz (ordered through LulaDoll) and she is spectacular!

(I can't figure out how to make the pictures I took any smaller, sorry! :sweat)

I originally wanted her blank, but blank dolls were out of stock, so I went with one of the offered faceup options and honestly? I'm SO glad I got her with a company faceup!! I am astounded at the detail at such a tiny size! Those tiny eyebrow hairs and eyelashes:o They're a bit darker than in the promo pics, but I can work with that! She also came with simple body blushing (chest, stomach, hands/feet, knees/elbows) and I'm on the fence about whether or not I like it, but it was totally unexpected so I'm counting it as a win!

And she is an absolutely rock-solid poser! She holds poses easily, and once I switched out her heel feet for her flat feet, she could stand on her own with no problem! I sat with her for about an hour, just trying out different poses, and everything I could think of, she could do! And, she passed my personal ultimate posing test - lotus pose!

Overall I am so in love with her - I don't think I've ever connected with a doll as instantly as I did with her. She is going to be so spoiled!! My first order of business is find her some eyes (she was supposed to come with some but they weren't in the box, so LulaDoll said they'd send me a pair, but who knows when they'll show up), and then I'm going to start into wigmaking!

(I'm honestly super tempted to order another one, but I'm making myself take one step at a time...)

I hope to be able to share more pics of her once I get her more put together!

**Side-note -- she doesn't fit any of the Barbie shoes I bought for her, so now I have a collection of shoes and no doll to fit into them! Does anyone know of any mature tinies that can fit into Barbie shoes? I made a general post in this part of the forum with little luck, so I thought you all might have some ideas!

    15. She's so beautiful! I love all the detail on her faceup. You're feeding my desire for one of these girls... I'm going to control myself, but gosh they're so pretty.

I think this was mentioned in your other thread (and I've told you this elsewhere) but for the good of the order: Maskcat's girls also fit the flat Barbie shoes. I don't have any dolls that fit the heels, I don't think. Although I might have some on hand to try, I've never tried putting my Maskcat girl's feet in the heels. Hmm! I'll report back when I've done some testing.

    16. @HeyJude - She is so pretty! The faceup options are really lovely, and I'm glad to see they also look good in person.

I saw some pics of this sculpt on Instagram a few months back, but didn't realize they are still available! How long did it take for her to be cast and shipped?

    17. I don't have any info on shipping times, but I can tell you that I BELIEVE Luladoll has some in-stock! Here's the link to Liz on Luladoll. @HeyJude can of course say if I'm mistaken, but I'm preeeetty sure that's the deal. (Either that, or Luladoll has a deal similar to Legenddoll's deal with a few companies where they'll take a set number of orders after the initial order period is closed maybe?) That said anecdotally I think the shipping time was pretty fast--under 6 months. (Just from my vague memory of someone else on a Discord I'm in who also bought one of these lovely girls!)

Cross-posting this info to the Granado thread too, but just in case anyone isn't in both like I am: the 11th anniversary event is up! And there's 1.5 new girls! (I say "1.5" because Bonnie was released previously, but with sealed eyes only so she was off-topic for DoA. But the open eyed version is available now!) The new-new girl is Bayou, and they're both just so completely beautiful! I'm so excited to finally get Bonnie, I've been waiting for the released of the open-eyed version of her since she was initially released! :love She's great for a character of mine. AND I can buy her eyes right from Granado in the right color--so no eye hunting!

    18. @Idoru - Thank you for that information! I'll take a look at Luladoll!

Also, congratulations on the Granado news! Bonnie and Bayou are both so pretty! It's great that Granado sells eyes for this size - it does seem like it would hard to find eyes of this size.

    19. Thank you!! And I would love to hear about your results!

Thank you! She was in-stock at LulaDoll, and they shipped her out within a few days! I don't know how many they had in stock when I ordered, but after she got here and the urge to get another one was strong, I went back to the site and blank versions were back in stock, so I think they might have some arrangement with the artist? Like to get a few made and sent to them as things sell? I'm really not sure, sorry! :sweat

    20. I just finished making these "converse-inspired" snickers for my Myou mature tiny male, I feel like it is a pattern that can be easily resized or modified to fit any doll. More than anything, it works amazingly well for tinier mature dolls, as it was originally designed by the creator to fit on fashion dolls tiny feet. That's why I am sharing this here. I made quite a few mistakes, but I can already see this is an incredibly easy pattern and tutorial. I'm easily intimidated by the idea of making shoes, so these are truly that easy to make. I once again, made a few mistakes, because I don't have all the materials the person who created the tutorial and pattern used. However, even then i feel like it's relatively easy to adapt and change things, with pretty decent results.

I linked to the tutorial by Bijou TV and a few other miniaturists YouTube channels in this thread here, two years ago. I was planning on making these for my 1:6 action figures, but I was too lazy to ever try. Now that it seems like an ordeal and a half to find shoes for my Myou doll, I finally decided to try. I highly recommend it, for anyone not able to find shoes, for their mature tinies. I made the shoe soles 4.3cm in length, in Photoshop, then printed the pattern. The pattern as is, is too small for Myou's mature male feet. (:
