1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Mirodoll Discussion Part VI

Sep 9, 2017

    1. @elve congratulations! Mika isn't huge so she should fit fine in your room :D I've had good luck dyeing resin but it is a summer project with a junk pot and windows open xD. Mika is just the cutest.

    2. Can someone confirm what size wig is best on Mika? I can't for the life of me find her measurement on mirodoll's website

    3. Mine wears an 8/9 wig.

    4. Something about her face is absolutely perfect. I don't even have a character for her but I NEED her. She kind of reminds me of a baby Dakota Fanning.

    5. Well, very strangely, my new Mika has been dispatched from .... SINGAPORE :? hope this doesn't bump up my customs fees!

      Thank you fishcake :D

wow she is really cute - well done! :D

my last Mika (sold last summer) didn't fit my usual 1/3 girl wigs - they were too small to stay on her head properly - she fitted a 1/3 boys wig though as it was a bit bigger (dollzone) I've bought a 9" antique-style doll's wig off ebay for my new Mika, but until she's delivered I won't know if that was a mistake or not!

    6. well she's here - and I am very happy with her :D love her colour and faceup compared to the last Mika I had (which I sold last year before moving house) I've been calling her Gloria since I saw the stock photos - although 'that song' is now driving me mad LOL

I bought a 9" antique-style doll wig for her from an ebay seller, along with these plastic eyes. The wig is still a bit on the small side! My larger BJD wigs don't seem to fit the shape of her head though. She's strung differently to the last 2 mirodolls I bought - they were OK but she really needs a restring ASAP

    7. I've just received the 60cm girl body for a floating head (ironically, the head itself hasn't arrived yet)! I'm actually very pleased with it aesthetically. I'm thinking about getting some jointed hands from Resinsoul and so I found this post; just to make sure I'm reading it right, it looks like Resinsoul's 1/3 male hands should fit alright on the Miro female body, right?

Also, the body I got is the normal yellow (not Volks yellow); does anyone know how Resinsoul would match with that? I'm fine with blushing so if it's a little off, that's alright with me.

    8. It might be a little pink, but blushing the hands with yellow should hide it pretty well.

    9. Thanks! I think I'll have to give them a go then. :)

    10. Hey guys! Has anyone here tried Mirodoll's resin matching services? I just bought myself a head in tan but I know I'll need it matched... I know mirodoll does matching but are they good at it? I know sometimes their resin can be sort of hit or miss.

    11. Hey, I'm going to order a doll from Miro doll. I have one I will order, but does anyone else have any suggestions for next time?

    12. Not sure what you are asking.

    13. I mean like, what dolls do you recommend?

    14. @Jeweltheepic My suggestion would be to go to the different companies websites and to find one you like the look of. The Wiki page has a list of dollmakers that would be a good place to start, Dollmakers - Den of Angels BJD Wiki | Den of Angels. You could also check out places like Denver Doll Emporium, and Alice's Collection who are dealers for various doll companies. As such they'll have pictures of dolls from lot's of different companies to look at.

    16. She is gorgeous! Well done!

    17. So, I received replacement hands for my 70 cm girl that arrived with the broken hand from Mirodoll. I'm very happy with how quick they replaced them. I put on the new hand and went back again to try to figure out her feet. My 70 cm arrived with the feet off the body. And I've had two grown men try to get the s hooks to attach to the thick string without success. I am wondering if the hooks she had at the ankle may have been too small. When you hook the S hook on the foot it came with it does not come up high enough to grab the string at all. We have also tried opening the S hooks up a bit.

    18. That is one of the mysteries of s-hooks and feet. How do they do that??? I would use strong string to tie the feet to the elastic. I have done it before with dolls who had no s-hooks and it works fine. If you want to find some longer s-hooks, several dealers have them in stock.

    19. That's what I did when she first arrived, made extra string loops to put on the feet.. I just wasn't sure if anyone had done that with the feet and whether the feet would be stable with string instead of S hooks for standing. Maybe I will just order both more string and S hooks. I think I overtightened the body too because it doesn't want to sit now. I may just have to re string her legs on up the torso anyway. I prefer to just have one knot at the neck because I change heads around often.

    20. I still have an older Dollshe Hound body with the feet tied on for at least a year or more. He stands very well. The string I use is for tying plants and trees to stakes so it is very tough and doesn't stretch.
