1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Obitsu General Discussion - Part Three (60cm, 55cm, 50cm and 47cm)

Oct 14, 2016

    1. Yes, it can be complicated. I've ruined my fair share of parts during my 15ish years working with these girls. At least most parts are available. But with the discontinuation of the 60cm that's not the case with them any more.

    2. @Rneiro Agh, so sorry you lost out on that one! Auctions are hard! It's happened to me a few times, and I'm also guilty of being a sniper bidder...... maybe you will get a better deal on the next opportunity. I've had that happen fairly often. Once a few buyers get what they are after, the market gets a little more settled and you can get a nice deal at that point!

Post has been a bit better for me than it was some months ago, I hope your package arrives safe and sound very soon!

    3. I got all the body parts today. The whitey frame doesn’t look that bad with the brown vinyl :)

    4. I’m really upset I fell asleep and missed out on a fixer-upper 50cm Obitsu doll body for $70. On top of that, I hope my 60cm Obitsu I got for $90 arrives intact and not lost or destroyed in transit. Never again will I choose surface shipping. Hate it, hate it, hate it!

    5. @MrFjmg2003 I agree, that the match isn't bad at all! Congrats on your new dolly! I've put together one myself too, and it was fun! It was a nice way to have an AP and not pay the full price of a new release!

    6. I agree about the price, but for me putting her together was not fun. I had a hard time LOL especially because the leg frame parts are a few CM taller than the leg outer parts. So now I need to cut about a cm to make it perfect. Also the hands and feet gave me a hard time. I discover I’m to lazy tu build dolls. I prefer when they are already assembled.

I shared some pictures on the Angel Philia thread if you guys want to see how the whitey parts look with the brown vinyl. I don’t share them here because I go for a more sexy look and I’m sure the obitsu thread is more family friendly. Here is the link to the AP thread :)

    7. It’s day 34 of me waiting impatiently for Ob60’s tracking info to update. I checked Japan Post’s English website about surface shipping arrival and delivery estimates. It said to allow up to 45 days for delivery before contacting customer service.

I found a question answer about JPost’s surface shipping wait times on Reddit. The person who responded is in West Virginia, a state NNE of TN (where I live), said their package was delivered by surface in 1.5 months.

This was answered before COVID-19, so I’m not sure if previous international surface shipping estimates are accurate or not.

I hope my package is delivered within 45 days. My spring semester of college begins this upcoming Tuesday, so I won’t have time to "play" with my doll anyways.

    8. I found another Obitsu 50 body! All it needs is a new neck joint and a head! It’s in good condition with very little color transfer. I bid on it. Fingers crossed I win!

    9. I won the Obitsu 50 body at auction for 11,000 yen (roughly 109.56 USD)! I didn’t plan on staying awake all night.

    10. @Rneiro! That's great, welcome to the world of day sleeping! You'll need it to get all your plans in order! I'm really happy for you!

    11. I made the decision to cancel the purchase of the Obitsu 50 body I won this morning for personal reasons.

    12. That does happen! I wouldn't worry about it too much.

    13. Here’s another twist: the seller sent the doll to their warehouse and now I’m unable to cancel the order. In short, I’m stuck with the Ob50 body I won instead of a partial refund. :sorry

    14. I just ordered my 50cm body a new neck joint. I’m considering whether or not to make "it" male. Would he be the "child" of GONN (Good Ole No Name)? A butler? A teacher? I don’t know yet.

In other news, the Parabox hand-painted Luna head I ordered last week cleared US customs yesterday. Do you all have tips on maintaining a hand-painted head? I’m concerned about how long her faceup will last before it begins to fade away.

Are there preventative measures I can take to keep the faceup from fading away for as long as possible?

01/20/21: My new doll head is almost here! She’ll be a head without a body for now.

      11:14 AM: She’s here!

    15. I don't know if Parabox does anything to seal their face-ups. A typical finish is 2-3 light coats of MSC UV Cut Flat spray and avoid touching the face.
A well sealed and maintained face-up will last for many years.

    16. I’ll try the MSC UV Cut Flat Spray out soon. Hopefully I‘ll be able work on it outside on a day that isn’t cold, wet and/or rainy! Today’s weather checked all three boxes! I will post pictures of my newest Luna head with her pink wig after I figure out how to put it on without it looking crooked or uneven.

Update 1/23/21: Getting the wig onto the head was a nightmare! The head slipped out of my grasp onto the hard floor twice! Fortunately, nothing on the head broke, scratched or cracked.

I got double-sided tape and taped the wig cap down to the head to keep it still. It took me an hour or two to place the wig correctly on the doll head. The doll head + wig is being stored in my closet for when my dolls arrive in ___???

    18. OH MY GOSH!! MY OB50 IS HERE!!! SHE’S SO TALL! I CAN ONLY IMAGINE HOW MUCH TALLER MY OB60 WILL BE!! [Picture coming soon]

Oh no.. I had my first break! Her right internal leg joint is cracked! I took her limbs off and put them back on. I first put on her arms and then her legs and noticed that they were very loose and floppy. So I tried taking them off and putting them back on again. I pushed out part of the lower trunk to see inside and behold, part of the right internal leg joint wall was cracked and missing! I haven’t even had her for a whole day and already broke something.. Saying I’m upset is an understatement. :(

    19. Thankfully replacement parts are cheap and the repair is easy! I had to repair a hip on one of my girls, too.
