Okay, thank you for the info. I thought decisions were posted about in the relevant news threads, sorry for any trouble!

 

The Limited edition dolls have more elaborate face ups and outfits where else the Gift edition is more toned down. Although both versions are equally gorgeous

 

Lila was the lucky one to get a new outfit from Finnish winter swap! I wrote there that the swap partner can choose from my petite dolls, for whom to make a surprise, so it was a real surprise when the package arrived. It´s a dark photo I know, but she wanted to show you!

Just placed my order for LE Dorothy through DDE! Now the wait begins She's my first Pipos, so I'm excited

Well, from what I could figure out from their response to my message, Dorothy won't be offered with the 3-part body as an option, so I went ahead and ordered a blank gift edition. Hopefully I'll like this body as much as I like the 3-part bodies.

 

Did anyone see the new announcement? Pipos is giving away 5 Event Edition Tin Woodman (purple skin) for those who purchase their OZ dolls during Dec 14-31. There are no pictures of this special doll. And i must say i am a bit disappointed that they just announced this as i ordered 3 dolls through DDE. If i knew about this special event then i would have brought directly through Pipos. Now i have no chance of winning one unless i buy another doll through Pipos. Don't know if i want to as i only have 1 in 5 chances of winning and i already spent alot this month on dolls

 

Oh, wow, that is disappointing... I just placed my order through DDE yesterday and already paid. If I had known, I would have gone direct - the $20 I saved on shipping by buying through DDE certainly is not that big a deal and would be worth it to have a chance at the purple woodman!

 

That's how i feel.

 

Oh, wow....I actually did order direct, and my order is flagged 12/14 (even though I paid last night before the announcement). Hopefully that means I'm entered!

 

I don't know what's more disappointing, not have a chance to win the doll or having the chance and not getting it... I am never the lucky one that gets the prize. I wish they offered something less expensive but in more quantity, like a blank head or an amazing ouftit.

But they should've announced this long ago, before people made orders on DDE.

And animedolls, why would you have a 1 in 5 chances of winning? The dolls aren't limited in quantity, so I guess now many people would think more about buying them, and the chance to get one of those purple, uh, things - OT here right - are not that great. But I understand how you feel, you bought three dolls! Why don't you write to them? They maybe can make more of the purple doll for DDE buyers, don't know. It never hurts to ask.

 

Thing is, even if i ordered directly from Pipos, i would probably have ordered the day they came out (being such a huge fan of their dolls) In that case, i would not have qualified as this special surprise giveaway is only to those who brought an OZ doll between Dec 14th and 31st. So for the big fans who rush to put their orders in, they would all be out of luck.

I would say this is my biggest Pipos disappointment. But yet i still love them and plan to continue to buy their dolls.

 

My guess is that there weren't as many orders as they anticipated, so perhaps this is to be an incentive to generate more? I bet if you asked them to include all orders from the start of the release, they would consider it.

 

I guess this is what happened, it was not selling well. But the fact is, even if they include all orders from the start, animedolls have bought them through DDE, as nobody would guess there would be the event release. I would write to Pipos, at least to let them know that there are customers not happy with all this. They should think twice before doing something similar in the future.

 

I will drop them a line. Essentially, by posting about this event so late in the game, they lost out on a direct order from me (and, others, I'm sure), since there was absolutely no reason for me to order direct until the event was announced. Bleh.

 

I'm sure DDE isn't that thrilled about it either, as it will take potential future orders away from them. I don't understand why companies make those choices, as this is unfortunately not the first time a company has changed the rules or offered a new carrot after an event has started. Is the revenue generated by the additional potential orders really worth ticking off the people who ordered but are excluded from the event? Makes no sense.

Hopefully they'll reconsider.

 

I hope that they would reconsider. Though, I do hope that people who are disappointed actually write to Pipos, because we can complain here all we want, but ultimately it is the letters to the company that may make a difference. I already sent a note about being disappointed.

 

Unfortunately, I doubt they will. They have done this before, I can think of more than once. It must work for them to get more direct sales and they obviously don't care about the people that ordered through dealers.
