Transgender/intergender dolls?

Jan 7, 2014

    1. My genderfluid characters seem to work better in my head but my dolls seem to have very specific ideas as to who they are gender-wise. I am a huge fan of drag though, so I'm planning on having one doll that's based off one of my favorite drag queens.

    2. My favorite line of dolls are the island doll wind island sds, because they have a nice looking gender neutral body and relatively androgynous features. I'd love to have an agender doll, just a question of saving up monies. :)

    3. I`ve thought of doing ftm mastectomy scars on a bjd before.

    4. I have a ton of trans characters I wish I could shell, but my only doll right now isn't one of them. I've got plans for my next doll (an iplehouse, hopefully) to be nonbinary but that's probably a far off goal.

I really would like to see more dolls accounting for various body types, trans people included! Not to mention how bad I want a chubby male doll pfffff

    5. Not really, mine all represent the sex they were made to portray. They don't identify as anything in particular either since they are inanimate objects. People may project their ideas and feelings onto dolls which is why many people have them.

    6. Being trans myself I really like trans characters, and intend to shell a few! :XD:

      I currently have two:
Eshne is a trans guy. I didn't want to buy a female body and do a FTM mod 1) because I've never modded a doll and it makes me nervous and 2) the body he's on (Doll Chateau K-12) is the perfect body shape for him without modding. :thumbup

And my second is Ichabod, who's technically a spirit of sorts and doesn't really have a gender, so he'd technically be agender.
I only call him he because his name is inspired by Ichabod Crane & I dress him in a masculine manner.

    7. I sometimes have orders to do doll trans. I think FtM its most popular model. I think its wierd and elegant in same time.
Here is body what I was modifications. Different type of art. :)[IMG]

    8. I'm currently waiting for a doll to shell a genderfluid character. In the original story he did actually have two sets of intimate parts he was born with (he's not a human being anyway, so he's fine), but I'm not sure yet if I want to mod the doll that way, too. I will make female clothes and stuff for him so he could choose to be female when he feels like it. Might even get a second head with a more feminine face up on it. I already feel like he's gonna want some dresses from my lady doll, Icy >0

    9. My boy Zach is trans :) He's a Unoa Sist. For him, the body he came with works perfectly--as a character, he's has chosen not to pursue medical transition, and the Unoa 1.5 small bust is very androgynous if you dress it that way. Rather than mods, I make sure that he always has a fitted tank top under his other clothes to simulate a binder and smooth out the lines of his torso. I did make a little sculpy packer for him to wear with some pants, but it's not always needed. I had been writing the character for several years before I was able to buy the doll, so I already knew him pretty well and planned out what I want to do him justice in a physical form.

    10. @Wolfie I love his wig! Definitely digging the styling, and it's cool to see a non-medical transition represented in resin and working so well.

    11. Thanks! He's always had a really special place in my heart, and I'm always pleased when I tell people he's on a non-modded body and they're surprised--you can pull off a lot with careful dressing and consideration!

    12. Closest thing I have is a boy doll I plan on making a girl. I think it's an awesome idea :)

    13. I didn't plan for my doll to be trans but as someone who identifies as trans himself it wasn't a surprise. I haven't modded my doll in any way. :)

    14. I didn't plan to have any intergender dolls, but when I ordered my first batch of Little Pri and Little Kios from ArgoDoll, I selected the unisex option. I expected this to mean that there would be no genitalia (aka it could be either sex) but it ended up meaning both. So the guys look fairly normal, but the ladies have slight bulges that I must hidden under their gowns! I don't think of them as anything but female, but I guess they would be intergender from a physical perspective.

    15. I'm planning on making a transgender character for a head that I have--I'll get him a male body since the character will have been on HRT for a few years (he 23) but I may mod his body a bit, like giving him a wider pelvis (since biological females have wider pelvises, and he started HRT after puberty)

Im glad to see others making trans characters too!

    16. I just got a Doll Chateau Christina that I was planning to mod FtM for one of my characters. Now the doll is here though I am not sure if it will work as planned. The hips are a lot wider than I thought they would be and i'm wondering whether it would have been a whole lot easier to get a male body to begin with. I am going to think on it before starting this process.

    17. I'd love to have a transgender doll in my Iplehouse, and future Supia Doll, Soul Doll and Impl Doll family. But personally I don't understand this fascination with transgender dolls. What is it that makes it so interesting? I worry that some people think that it would have been a cool thing to have in their BJD collection. And that makes me sad. I guess it is interesting for some. But all I can think is, "nooooooo it's not cool at all to suffer from gender dysphoria. It's not something cool...".

Sorry I don't mean to sound grumpy though. Right now I feel like I've said something I should not have. But I can't help but reacting the way I do to the transgender topic. But I think it's great that people create characters like that anyway. So please don't stop :) I just don't want people to think like it's a cool thing to have a transgender character in their BJD collection when irl it is absolutely a horrible thing to have to go through the dysphoria!

I suffer from gender dysphoria myself and it sucks :sighBut I would like to have a character I can relate to so I decided to create one. I've had it for longer than I can remember, but the gender dysphoria did not cause me that much trouble until a couple of months ago. That's when it exploded, and made me feel very dysphoric. And have been like that constantly since it became very apparent. The gender assigned to me at birth is female. But I'd like to create a BJD character based on the fashion model "Stav Strashko" who is a transgender female. Stav does not want to have any sex reassignment surgery though. She's happy and comfortable with the body she was born with.

I'm currently waiting for my Iplehouse boy Rania. He's mainly based on the looks of fashion model "Emil Andersson". But at first I thought about basing his personality/ character on "Stav Strashko". But a character like that needs a more slender model like hybrid body. The Iplehouse males are too buff and too broad shouldered for the feminine and androgyneous fashion model character I have in mind.

But I'm also very unsure if my Rania boy should be a female transgender person. I was originally going to name my Rania boy "Sebastian" because that is my chosen male name. Originally I was going to create a male character who represent everything I wish I could have been. I just don't wish to transition for personal reasons though. So maybe I should get another BJD boy sculpt for the female transgender character. I love the Supia boy Giyom sculpt!

Um, I hope I didn't share too much information...:sweat I'm very openminded about things. I feel almost no fear of sharing things like that. I don't know if that's a bad thing?! I came out as a transgender person to my family and relatives on my FaceBook account like I had no fear of peoples reaction. But I also knew my family is very kind and openminded people. But since we're talking about transgender and intersex BJDs I thought it would be ok to write a little bit about how my dysphoria impact my BJD plans. I really do want a BJD based on myself. It's also a way for me to cope with the emotional struggle the dysphoria causes. I'm embarrassed to say this, but I do live a lot through my dolls, and have done so since I got my very first doll.

almyki I know I'm answering an old post, but there is indeed as many ways to be trans as there are people. Me for example go through the difficulties of gender dysphoria and most of the time wish I were born as the opposite sex. I'm always bothered, and often depressed by my female physique. But there are also times where I manage to live with the body I have and don't think so much about it. But even though my gender identity is male, I don't act or have a masculine personality at all. My hair is shoulder long. I wear women's clothing. Pretty much everything but dresses. But I also feel more comfortable in female clothes because my body is female. I don't wear much jewelry either. I only own a wodden heart peace sign necklace, a necklace with a glittery green resin alien head on, and a heart amethyst gold necklace. My room looks like a female's room as well. But it do not change that I still feel like I should have been born as a male. I'm also ok with people addressing me by my birth name, and I choose to be addressed by my birth name because of my female body. Nobody would know I'm trans unless I told them!

Sorry for all the posts in a row, but having a transgender BJD is something that is really important to me, and once I started writing I had so much on my mind :sweat I've always crossdressed some of my male dolls, but I never even thought about getting a transgender doll until I found myself struggling with gender dysphoria.

Ok, so I could not help it... I went and ordered the DZ Devon head in pink skin from Alice's Collections.

      www.acbjd.com/62cm-devon-head-p-10900.html?cPath=327_336

I think it is a limited head, and could not risk losing my chance at ordering it. I just saw it and knew that this is the head I want for my transgender female character! I just ordered the head for now because I could not afford a full doll at the moment. Once I get it I will pack it away in a box in my closet so that it do not yellow meanwhile I wait to order the body.

This is the model (Stav Strashko) I plan to base her character on.

      blog.urbanoutfitters.com/blog/class_of_2017_stav_strashko

Stav is a transgender female, but she is comfortable and happy with the body she was born with and do not wish to transition. It will be the same for my character who I'll name Anya.

Anya will get this body as soon as I'm able to order it.

      www.acbjd.com/dz-62cm-boy-body-b60005-p-9266.html?cPath=327_332

She have a male body because same as Stav she is comfortable and happy with her body as it is. She'll naturally wear female clothes. And my upcomming IH SID Rania boy who I'll name Sebastian will be her older brother. They will both be fasion model siblings. I can hardly wait to get them both home<3

    18. hi!

My first doll's going to be non-binary, and as far as i've seen, there aren't that many trans bjds in general. I was just wondering what your opinions are on them, stuff like that. If you own some, feel free to post photos and whatever else pertains to the topic! thanks!

    19. There are actually a whole bunch of them if you go looking. Just browsing though the BJD profiles on here, there's a lot more than I ever thought there'd be (there are separate areas for the doll's sex and gender). It's pretty awesome. :)
