Den of Angels is dedicated to the discussion of resin ball-jointed dolls. A doll's suitability for Den of Angels is determined based on several criteria points. Ultimately, the decision is solely up to the moderators.

Off-topic dolls may not be bought, sold, or traded on Den of Angels. They may not be the sole focus of any thread or post, though they may be included as comparisons in discussion with on-topic dolls, and they may be posted in the gallery in photographs that feature on-topic dolls but not alone in photos.

This is not a comprehensive list of the dolls that are off topic, but these are some dolls that have caused some confusion. They have been discussed and specifically disallowed by the moderators:

Non-resin dolls

All on-topic dolls must be made of resin. The following dolls are not on topic due to being made of plastic, porcelain, silicon or another material:

Resin fashion dolls

Although made of resin, these dolls have a westernized fashion aesthetic and often have bodies that lack detail, as the dolls are meant to be clothed. They're often marketed as fashion dolls, separate from other BJDs.

• Dollmore - Their 16" "fashion model doll" line has been reworked and are currently on-topic. However, the 12" line of "FMD" dolls they produce have some that are made of ABS/PVC (the "Basic Gem"). These are still off-topic. The resin 32cm/12" dolls ("Kidult" or "Cute" lines on the Dollmore website) are on-topic, but where a sculpt is made in both versions, ONLY the resin version can be on-topic.

All dolls allowed on Den of Angels must adhere to the forum criteria. Artists who have created dolls in resin should post in Ask the Moderators] with information about their dolls before posting them on the forum.
