Den of Angels is dedicated to the discussion of Asian ball-jointed dolls. The forum does not include all Asian-made dolls on principle; it also allows some non-Asian dolls if they are similar enough in terms of aesthetics and construction. (It is important to note that the phrase "Asian aesthetic" does not mean that the dolls must look ethnically Asian; it is used to describe the style and proportions of the dolls that were sculpted in Asia.)

A doll's suitability is determined based on several criteria points. Ultimately, the decision is solely up to the moderators.

Off-topic dolls may not be bought, sold, or traded on Den of Angels. They may not be the sole focus of any thread or post, though they may be included as comparisons in discussion with on-topic dolls, and they may be posted in the gallery in photographs that feature on-topic dolls but not alone in photos.

This is not a comprehensive list of the dolls that are off topic, but these are some dolls that have caused some confusion. They have been discussed and specifically disallowed by the moderators:

Non-resin dolls

All on-topic dolls must be made of resin. The following dolls are not on topic due to being made of plastic, porcelain, silicon or another material:
